I have added two new questions to your profiles, if you wish to fill them out, just click on profile, then 'edit profile'.

The questions are:

1. What was your favorite game of all time?
2. How did you find this Forum?

It's totally optional. You can leave it blank if ya want. It's just another new feature to get others to know friends and others better.

Bloody 'ell! I updated my profile and discovered that I can set the date the proper way round and change the time to the real time! No more living 5 hours in the past!

How long's that been there?

Sever 06-25-2003 09:36 AM

Better yet! I can change the date format to dd-mm-yyyy instead of the illogical way you backwards, bloody yanks do it. :D *Ducks for cover.* *Quickly!*

Night Stalker 06-25-2003 09:48 AM

Hey! Not all us damn Yankees write the date wrong!

A while...I only found out a few weeks ago myself.

Ziroc 06-25-2003 11:05 AM

I edited the header to include the date addition

That IS a cool little option, eh?

You'll never know how much that helps.

Shit! I've got Apophis! Looks like he's farted in his space suit!

Yes, that is GREAT! I never knew either... now I've got my local time on IW.

Cloudbringer 06-25-2003 11:28 AM

LOL! I never thought about the time thing, but then again, I'm in the same zone as IW's server so it didn't effect me here. Good news that you can adjust it for local use!!! :D

The little extras make the difference sometimes, don't they?

As for the date option, I'm disappointed. I wanted to set it to Heidi Klum

Here in Europe it's dd-mm-yyyy too but actually it is MORE logical and more scientific the other way round.
This is because the bigger units are in front thus telling you rough information first and getting more detailed with every additional information.
year -> month -> day -> hour -> minute -> second -> milisecond -> ...
this is how it works for scientists
However in real life we "month" and "year" is used less often than "day" as they do not change so fast. If somebody asks you: "What date is it?" you're probably going to respond with something like: "the 26th"
This is why many people like to put day and month before year in date.

:D So much talk so little information - and so boring :(

Bugger it all, I was tricked. I edited my profile and then had to cut out my beloved Natural Born Killers quote to get my sig within 250 characters. Was I tricked? If not, how did my sig get that long to begin with?

You could also get rid of one or both of those smileys in your sig. They add a lot to the amount of words if the URL to the pic is long. I know, because I have a pic and two hyperlinks in my sig, and had to take out my only line of text and shorten the links significantly. So taking out the smiley might be enough to be able to get your quote back.
BTW, Z, great idea to restrict the amount of text in a sig!

Sir Goulum 06-25-2003 01:41 PM

Neato! Now everyone can know how I got here!

NiceWorg 06-25-2003 01:55 PM

A step to better direction. And I especially welcome the military clock! No more am´s or pm´s...

Wow, I didn't do anything to that setting. I guess it's now built in to the code. Weird, but kinda good anyway, since we only allow 3 lines of text :D

Night Stalker 06-25-2003 02:37 PM

Since we are talking sigs and profiles ....

Z here's a suggestion, why not filter the sig by displayed text. That way people with hyperlinks can still use up to three lines in their sig. A (not so) simple regular expression should work well in excluding the < a > and < /a> parts.

Just a thought ..... great job though!

Xen 06-25-2003 03:46 PM

Great job Z!
Yes i think this is a good idea.</font>

Sigh, Melusinchen, there is a much easier way to check your local time. Just look at your wristwatch or at any of the at least half a dozen other clocks that I am sure can be found around your flat. If you have set them correctly they ALL should display your local time!!! Now, isn't that much more convenient than having to first boot your computer and then log on to IW every single time you just want to know which time it is? See, I just knew in the end you would understand and agree with me, good gal.

Our Melusinchen, she is trying sooo hard, but it does still show sometimes that she is a true blonde after all.

*Patronizing condescendence, is there any surer way to tick a woman off big time? Nah, I am still the master! *
