Hello!
<font face="garamond"size="3">Just curious about which fantasy/sci-fi authors you guys dig. I have just resently finished reading my Maggie Furey serie (about Aurian) for like the forth time now, and could use some inspiration. /Kiyatha http://www.geocities.com/nefertivi/kiyatha.gif [ 07-14-2002, 05:21 PM: Message edited by: Kiyatha ] |
Mercedes Lackey would have to be my all time favorite fantasy writer (Though Margret Weis and Tracey Hickman bring up a close second.) There just aren't many who can compare with the in depth Valdemar realm.

This thread best belongs in the Books, Movies & TV Show Discussions Forum. Not only will it be more relevant, the chances of people actually interested in this stuff will be much higher. [ 07-14-2002, 05:32 PM: Message edited by: Dundee Slaytern ] |
Oh, I love Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman as well. Read their serie about Caramon and Raistlin and the others. Real good.

Hail to the almightly Tolkien! Rowling's pretty good, The Little White Horse by Elizabeth Goudge is fantabulishous and, although it's not fantasy or sci-fi, William Manchester's Goodbye, Darkness kicks .... bum! It's a pacific war memoir... but it's not boring... he's a great author.

I've already read most of the dragonlance books..Oh oh...forgot David Eddings, he's great.

The BEST fantasy series.... (I've read a lot!)
Wheel of time series - Robert Jordan Everything but the last 3 books of Raymond Feists series (Pug rules!) All the Shannara books by Terry Brooks The Earthsea Trilogy by Ursula Le Guin Alvin Journeyman series by Orson Scott Card Martha Wells - City of Bones, The Necromancer And of course, Lord of the rings. |
Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series ROCKS. Got'em ALL in hardcover and one autographed. I love the Dragonlance series. Anything by Weiss an Hickman. Terry Brooks is good too. Anne McCaffery is another good one. Just too name a few. All time fave character tho HAS TO BE Raistlin Majere. Very tragic.
