Al righty people... after a week of heavy exam stress, I will face my final exam tomorrow. Which just happens to be math, on which I really suck. Since this exam can break or make me (I must score at least 5.2/10 to graduate) I can use all the best wishes and advice you can miss (I just know my Calculator is going to run out of juice tomorrow). Since I have to beat this the normal way (a friend of mine tried to sacrifice a goat to gain favor with his deity - but got hit by a bolt of lightning :( ) I'm going to study for a few more hours and then get some rest. The final countdown, my friends.

WillowIX 05-22-2003 04:03 PM

Hang in there Dreamer! I wish you the best of luck with your exam. I'm sure you can make it. And don't forget the rest! Good luck and keep us posted.

LOADS OF LUCK!

Don't stay up all night worrying about it. Get some sleep, be calm. I'm sure you'll do fine!

Grojlach 05-22-2003 04:16 PM

Best of luck then, Velkyn!
By the way, I'm not entirely familiar with Dutch High School courses since the big Second Phase-make-over - what kind of math is it, exactly? Geometry, algebra, statistics, theory of chances, you name it? Or, in Dutch terms, "Wiskunde A" or "Wiskunde B"? ;)

Good Luck Dreamer, may you do well in the exam.

Good luck Tom! I'm sure everything will go great! If you're really worried about your calculator, is it possible to take a backup? I doubt it will stop working right in your exam but if you're really worried about it it won't matter if it does or not, it will still affect you.

Oh.. I will bring a backup. But the Calculater in question is a very expensive Graphical Calculater which costs over 200 Euro's. Battery's are very hard to get, and there I won't be buying another one any time soon. Still.. the thing is supposed to give me a warning two weeks before those battery's will go flat, but with my luck.... ;)
Either way, thanks for the support y'all. I'm going in in 1.5 hours. *nervous*

the new JR Jansen 05-23-2003 06:14 AM

I'll try to lighten the mood.

Before going in, here is some advice to get that nervousness (is that a word) away. French kiss a girl. Any girl will do, but pick one that looks good. Get slapped in the face and you're good to go :D .

Anyway, best of luck to you. I'm sure it'll go fine.

Feeling nervous is good. That will keep the adrenaline flowing and keep you alert. Again the best of luck to you. I'll check in later and see how it went. Or rather how you felt it went. Good luck.

GOOD LUCK TOM!!
Personally I had to re-do the Maths final exam or I wouldn't even have passed! I had a 9, four 8's, one 5 and. because I completely f...messed up the Maths exam, a 4. You were either allowed a 6 and a 4 or two fives, but not a 5 and a 4. So I redid Maths and did so well that I pulled up my grade two points to a six. So final results were 9,8,8,8,8,6,5. *sigh* :D

Anyway, don't worry about your batteries, if they haven't given a warning, things will be fine. I'm crossing my fingers for you, again GOOD LUCK!

Two hundred euros?!?!?! I remember buying that thing for 178 guilders!! Man! Talk about inflation! That was two years ago!

EDIT: Good luck of course Dreamer!

Back from the Urban Jungle that is Secondary School, and still drawing breath (this about covers the good part). Exam wasn't all that hard, though it was hardly a walk in the parc.(I should have gotten suspicious when my math teacher walked in wearing his 'all your tests are belong to us' shirt) Since I don't know the standard they are using, I find it hard to guess as to what I may have scored. Hopefully, I'll make my 5.2/10. Kind of sad that these exams count for 50% of your final rating, all my wonderfull highscores are going down the drain this way

If you haven't got a feeling you totally screwed up, that's usually good When you ruined it, you usually know it too.
So when do you get the results/the dreaded phonecall? :D

Dreamer128 05-24-2003 08:37 AM

June the 12th. Seems like months away...
Link: I double checked the price of that calculater. It was 240 guilders. Sorry about the mix-up, damn Euro's ;)
Groj: Wiskunde A (fortunately), things like 'Natuurkunde', 'Scheikunde' and 'Wiskunde' are lethal to me :( Good thing I managed to get rid of those first two a few years ago.

You just plain forgot about a little something called "Nationellt Prov" or what? :D
