Lovisa 05-21-2003 04:07 PM

Hey I was wondering, weren't u able to change ur public name? mine is Lovisa and I don't like it can't u change that? Just wondering

Kaltia 05-21-2003 04:12 PM

No, you can't change it, not unless you have a REALLY good reason.

andrewas 05-21-2003 04:12 PM

You have two options. Either re-register and get a new account with a new name (and a zero post count), or beg Ziroc and have a good reason for the change.

FelixJaeger 05-21-2003 04:18 PM

Or buy shares in IW...

Lovisa 05-21-2003 04:22 PM

well alrighty thx for answer, damn that I took Lovisa didn't know that it was the name that I was namned here

Aelia Jusa 05-21-2003 04:45 PM

Well I like Lovisa! I wouldn't worry about it!

Sythe 05-21-2003 07:54 PM

I wish I can change my name too. I wanted to name the cool dude in BG I who is very fast and blurry whose name is SLythe instead I put Sythe dang nabbit. Just one little error annoys me to this day.

shadowhound 05-21-2003 08:46 PM

I just wish I used a capital S :( ah well, it could be worse

Gnarf 05-22-2003 03:19 AM

I wish I wasn't a gnome when I registered...

Paladin2000 05-22-2003 03:39 AM

I wish I was... wait a minute, I am happy with my account name.

Gnarf 05-22-2003 04:10 AM

"Paladin 2000" ...mebbe I should get one of those, if is it shipped with "Fanatics 2000" (at least the "Turn Undead 2000" part of it, that's what I'd use it for anyway)...

Yup, buy shares in IW. This way we can enjoy the greatness of IW for longer and everyone will be happy.
Though shares i doubt are refundable.

You know, it could have been worst if I register as "Dork2000" or something. Plus, "Paladin" is an easy name to remember for RPG boards like IW and etc. :D

/)eathKiller 05-22-2003 06:54 AM

I've been stuck with Deathkiller since the days of Myth The Fallen Lords, and I love it It even got me some of the best section IDs in PSO :D for example: /)eathkiller was a Pinkal

Link 05-22-2003 06:56 AM

*snicker* Dork2000 Now I wouldn't want to be named like that, no sir! :D I'm feeling kind of lucky being an old member ;) , because frankly I admire the people who have to come up with new names now.. seems VERY hard to me. I do wonder if there have been any people after me who've tried to take the username Link though

harleyquinn 05-22-2003 07:34 AM

That would be neat to see. Like if it was a display on your profile page that said "Number of users that requested this username:".

Kaltia 05-22-2003 09:38 AM

I like Kaltia. I'd like Katilia, which is apparently Estonian for "It bites", more though :D

LordKathen 05-22-2003 09:51 AM

I love mine! I use it for everything else too. E-mail, other forums, etc. Kathen is my sons name. ;) It is German meaning "warrior", I think... Cathan, is Irish Gailic meaning "battler" Let me tell you, he holds up to his name either way you spell it! ;)

It would probably be at 0 for mine

I like my username, although I have thought up better ones right after I registered...

Sythe 05-22-2003 10:35 AM

Really Sir Goulum? I thought you were going to say something about a spelling mistake. I thought you were naming yourelf after Gollum *forgot how to spell it* from the hobbit heh all these months...

Nope! Meant my name as it is! Sir Goulum. Original, and it looks so much better than Gollum

Horatio 05-22-2003 01:52 PM

I'm fine with Horatio. I was reading over a lot of Shakespeare's work at the time when I registered, and it was the first name that came to my head.

Beaumanoir 05-22-2003 01:59 PM

Got my name off the side of a bottle of wine and proud of it :D :D

Hehehe

Sigmar 05-22-2003 02:07 PM

Don't worry Lovisa, in time you'll get used to the name. Before you know it people think up some nicknames for it and hey you start to sorta like it.

But would I change my name? Not in a heartbeat...more like the time it takes to type in Cypher :D

(BTW I'd like to point out my appriciation for the name Gnarf :D Saying the name makes me smile every time, funny stuff No offence intended, the way it sounds just amuses me!)

Stratos 05-22-2003 02:07 PM

I wanted to change my name as well once, but then I went through therapy and sorted that out. :D

Lovisa 05-22-2003 04:05 PM

well it's not really that i don't like it. ya know it is my real name...the prob is that in so not cool! I want a cool name, I actually wanted the name Silke or DeViL Silke cause I think that's cool well well shit happened so I just have to get used to the fact that my name is Lovisa!

WillowIX 05-22-2003 04:19 PM

As Aelia said, don't worry about it Lovisa. I find it a beautiful name.

But can someone explain to me why I only see a logo instead of your graphic sig? It appears I am the only one with this problem. [edit]Ahh it was my firewall that messed things up. [/edit]

Lovisa, you do realize that your name might sound nice and a bit exotic for a non-Swede. It might perhaps sound boring and mundane to you but people from other parts of the World can find it interresting.

Yes, it's very difficult for people nowadays... I can already picture the disappointment on their faces when they realize "Grojlach" is already taken. I really hope they'll be able to cope with it and not resort to doing something crazily stupid. :(
