Uh no... I'd prefer getting a tattoo then a piercing. I'd never pierce any part of my body. Tattoos... maybe.

Gangrell 04-20-2003 10:08 AM

Nahh, I don't think I'd ever get a body piercing. Too painful from what I hear, if anything I'd get a tattoo of a dragon or something

Annatar 04-20-2003 10:11 AM

And a 1 mm needle that penetrate's your skin 100 times a second; isn't painful ?

With a body piercing, its just one big needle and your done (tongue can be rather painfull if you ask me ).. but compared to a tattoo a piercing isn't all that painful.

Only when you over-exaggerate it Annatar

The good thing about body piercings and tattoos is that they do them while you wait. I think that's a great idea.

:D

I had my ear pierced, havent wore an ear ring in a loong time though, the hole is probably closed by now.

Wouldn't it be better if you had an option to wait in the pub, while you got a tattoo ? Or go home and take a nap, and pick it up when it's done ? :D

Bruce The Aussie 04-20-2003 01:16 PM

i like the idea behind peircings, i just could never decide what to have peirced. i was thinking my ear or something but now my hair completely covers my ears so thats not an option. now i can't think of anything i could/would get peirced so, for now, its not for me. but you sure are brave getting your tongue done. i heard it hurts. alot. and bleeds like crazy.

Attalus 04-20-2003 01:29 PM

Not in one million billion quadrillion years.

It does hurt for like 4 or 5 seconds (it feels like 2 a 3 minutes though) and that is when the needle is inserted (8 cm long, half a mm in wide), when your tongue is pierced they put in the jewelry (the piercing) and then you need to take a sip of something rather distugsting (tastes like ''goldstrike'', 55% liquor and is disgusting) to disinfect any bacteries that may have enterded during the procedure.

About the bleeding, this depends.. on the person that sets the piercing (if he can do it properly) and about the person that is getting piercid (some people bleed much faster then other ).. if the piercer hits a blood-nerve your in a lot of fun (I witnissed this a couple of months ago, a girlfriend of mine got pierced in the wrong way), she almost bleeded to death due to a mistake from the piercer (he hit a nerve).

But he... they who wanna get pretty (or rather freaky) must endure pain and agony

Gangrell 04-20-2003 01:46 PM

You sound prepared Annatar, you even did the research so it seems

You mean you've scrapped the plans the pierce all the way through your nose?

Annatar 04-20-2003 02:09 PM

My mom made me! because she would only let me get pierced if I knew enough about it (the risks and procedure ect..)

So I was well-informed about everything that got anything to do with it, but it wasn't that bad, to be pierced is the first step (and the quickest) but the week after it... is hell if your fond of non-liquid food

It took me a week to get myself on a normal diet again (You do not want to know how much ice, yogi and baby feeding I ate in that week :D ), don't even start about the drooling you must endure due to the fact your tongue increases in size (like 2 a 3 times bigger then your normal size tongue  )

But hey I now got it like a year and I don't have any regrets about it (though I wouldn't do it again)

Gangrell 04-20-2003 02:18 PM

And another reason why I wouldn't get a piercing, but honestly I think nipple piercings would hurt most of all, because what if you got it hooked on something? That and the fact about a tongue piercing, I don't look forward to eating my food after putting it in a blender

I've never even heard of that, much less contemplated it. I did contemplate having a foul anchor tatooed on my forearm, but after all that booze, I didn't have enough money.

Gangrell 04-20-2003 02:27 PM

Watch out when you get a tattoo though, a cruel friend might throw whiskey on it

Well I do have earrings but thatīs all. 3 in both ears although I only use two of them (two in each ear that is). I usually wear two small golden rings in each ear.

*cough* And I do have a tattoo. A small yin-yang sign on my right shoulder. Did I disappoint you all?

Kinda, i thought you had a big red dragon on your chest. :D

Attalus 04-20-2003 04:30 PM

Funny, I was about to post exactly the same as Johnny, except for the word "chest."

Yeah, that'd be some bumpy dragon

I'd never get a piercing, but a tattoo, sure. I'm still thinking about exactly what and where, I'm in no rush, I'm just taking my time and seeing different designs and considering various body parts... though nothing too risque I'm afraid.

WillowIX 04-20-2003 04:59 PM

to the both of you. Nicer comments than I expected. LOL. Luckily my tattoo is rather small so it isnīt very obvious.

Red dragon on my chest ehh? Hmmm...

I have my left nipple pierced

Gangrell 04-20-2003 05:31 PM

I say if you're going to get a tattoo, you might as well have it in a place people can see it, like on your arm or something. But as far as the red dragon on Willow goes, that'd be something interesting to do

You pierced your tounge? Try piercing your nipples...THAT HURTS as nipples consists of nerve mostly. Ouch...

Annatar 04-20-2003 07:27 PM

You have one (a pierced nipple)? because I know a lot of peope that have one and they all say it isn't that painful.. they get a setative (something to reduce the pain) before the nipple gets pierced.

Gangrell 04-20-2003 07:53 PM

What, pain killers and muscule relaxers?

Ps- Probably said that to look big

SolitaryHacker 04-20-2003 07:59 PM

Getting your nipple pierced DOESNT hurt that much, you think im saying this to "look big?"

Gangrell 04-20-2003 08:10 PM

I didn't say that to you Solitary, I'm saying some people say as such to look big.

antryg 04-20-2003 08:52 PM

Annatar, have you had a dental check-up since you had the piercing? The ball, whether oon a long or short post has a tendency to "click" against the teeth and eroding the enamel. A lot of people have experienced trouble with chipping and/or thinning of the enamel.

Attalus 04-20-2003 09:04 PM

As well as the breaking of the teeth.

Perhaps your right, some people couldve cried for their mommys when they got the piercing for all we know.

Ladyzekke 04-20-2003 09:25 PM

I've had my ears pierced, and that's all I'm doin LOL. I'd never get another piercing. But if I were to get another one I'd get one right above my left eyebrow, right where it starts to slant down. Have a little gold bar there LOL. Dunno, just imagining, will never do it LOL.

Ack to me the one piercing that seems the worst is the tongue piercing. Just such a big hole to make there LOL, not just a tiny piece of skin like the earlobe. I remember last year I was buying some fish food at PETCO (a pet store). This girl was at the register, and for some reason decided to tell me all about her new tongue piercing. She said it got infected, and she was told to rinse her mouth several times a day with bleach.... ....
...

...

bleach? In the mouth?!...
...

I'm not even going to mention her descriptions of how she knew it was infected, as I'm sure yall would like to keep your dinners in your stomachs.

Saw her a month or so later, and she was fine. Hope she enjoys her tongue piercing, she definitely "earned" it LOL! Ack!

Kakero 04-20-2003 09:30 PM

no way, never! it's unimaginable.

Gangrell 04-20-2003 10:58 PM

I know a girl that has piercings through out all of her body, and to why some people need that many I don't know. Has it in the ears, eyebrows, tongue, nipples, and probably more Heh, I'd love to see someone with that many piercings go through a metal detector

True_Moose 04-21-2003 12:06 AM

I have one in my ear, and am planning on gettin' another one.

Mouth ones are disturbing. Lips and tongue...urg. :(

Saw some guy on TV, lifted 55 lbs with a ring in his, shall we say, sensitive region.

EDIT: Only problem I ever had, got in a hockey fight and it got caught on his helmet. Pain... But actually getting it done hurts about as much as a needle

actually once when i went to a tatoo shop (i was on vacation somewhere in some island in the philippines, boracay to be exact) i wanted to have a henna, temporary tatoo.. but the person did not allow people inside (small shop) for a simple reason is because some korean guy was having a piercing in his "ahem" sensitive region that time.. geezzz...

Nah, I dont have anything pierced but friends of my tell me that an earing would look nice on me.

AHA! So they get setative...I knew they would have to get drugged down or sumthin:) It would be suicde to pierce a nipple without setative IMO

Timber Loftis 04-21-2003 06:40 PM

My aunt pierced my ear with a wig pin and some ice when I was 14 years old. I've actually never let it grow closed, though I almost never wear an earring anymore. It would raise eyebrows in my office, I assure you. Every now and then, I shock co-workers by wearing it to an after-hours function.

Charlie 04-21-2003 06:54 PM

I had mine done in an English lesson in school around 1977 with a needle...no ice, no nothing. Never wore an earing for years since being an adult but even now that the hole appears completely closed it isn't. I can still squeeze gristle out of it if I press hard enough. Feel that little ball in your earlobe behind the piercing?... that's a legacy. I reckon if you could ever purge that 100% the hole would close 100%.
