Itīs called Iespell and is a plugin for Internet Explorer. I think you can use it with Netscape as well. It can be found here: Iespell. Unfortunately I havenīt been able to reach that site so do a google and you will get plenty of download sites. Itīs great! Checks the spelling in the textbox. No need to type in word, check spelling and then paste.

Edit: Changed the title som more...

TOPS

I will give it a go, I need all the help I can get. When I'm on Ironworks I usually open up Word and cut and paste between the two. My spelling has been a lifelong embarressment to me :(

This works the same way the word spell check does. You get the same box. It really is fantastic! No more typos for me. ;) Of course it reacts on all the smileys, like "thumbsup" etc. You will have to add them to the dictionary. LOL! *coughs* Changed a typo in your quote. :D

Attalus 03-27-2003 09:56 AM

Good morning, Willow. For long posts, I usually type in Works and then cut'n'paste, and it also serves the purpose of saving if the server eats your post. Waht tipos?

Legolas 03-27-2003 09:59 AM

It's not my typos I'm wurriet abot, does it also change other poepels posts to a more legible collection of understandable words?

WillowIX 03-27-2003 10:07 AM

LOL Attalus. Yeah, waht tipos? :D I usually use word and then copy and paste. And I never seem to have trouble with the server. A press on the back button usually gives me my post back. Since Iīm lazy this plug-in is a gift from above though. ;)

*cough* It nailed your collection of words in your post above, although I refrained from correcting them. ;) So yes it is working rather well as a matter of fact. I guess it cross links with the MS dictionary (the one word uses).

OK changed the title some. ;)

I'll give it a shot, but it does work, Willow? I mean, I'm looking at your edit above, and....

The usual rules for spellcheckers still apply. They haven't figured out how to make on that does what I want, and not what I say.

Hi Bungleau. I used Opera to post the latest post as well as for the edit. ;) I canīt get it to work with Opera. I donīt have Netscape so I canīt try that. Iīm still working on getting it to work on Opera though. It seems like a lost cause. :(

WILLOW!! Thank you thank you thank you!!!
My boss has been griping all week that this online form our company makes us fill out for our evaluations has no spell check on it so we can't fix our errors. I showed her this, we tried it out on her computer and she's thrilled. You made us happy, at least something around here works now :D

I can give you my faux-rabid cat if you want (the cat's real, she only thinks she's rabid -- long story)

Kaltia 03-27-2003 01:00 PM

Hmmm, good idea
I never use word, which I should-I type fast, 50% of the time correctly, unless my room is cold. Then my fingers freeze and become about three times as clumsy.

Great Harley! Now go demand a raise.

Hi Kat. For forums iespell is great. I donīt think itīs applicable when chatting though.

Unfortunately I realised that this program could put Vaskez out of his "job" here on IW. :D

Kaltia 03-27-2003 01:10 PM

Oh, I'm a pedant, I wince every time I see the English languae mauled, especially by someone who grew up with it

Ronn_Bman 03-27-2003 03:14 PM

Willow, I found something similar here a couple of months ago, and I love it, too. It works using the MS Word dictionary.

I used to cut and paste to and from Word anyway, which could be a bit tedious, but this let's me do the same Word spellchecker from within the forum post box.

I've installed it on every computer at work and at home.

Know I ever spill thinks Wong. :D

Yes this seems to be the very same thing.

Ronn I have found another great program just for you! Itīs a very neat and excellent registry editor. Itīs called Registrar Lite. It rivals reg-cleaner (perhaps even better in its own way). I use them both. Reglite to search and locate and regcleaner to clean up the mess.

Cool, I've added it to my favorites, and I'll check it out tomorrow. :D

Right now, I'm using the jv16.org utility which is from the same guy that made regcleaner. It uses that same system and adds lots of extras (which I don't know how to use). :D

Kakero 03-27-2003 08:10 PM

cool, I might need that to correct tons of typos that I usually make. :D

Kaltia 03-27-2003 08:17 PM

Actually, Kakero, you speak English a lot better than some of the kids at my school, and English is their first language (AND this is a GRAMMER school, top 20% of all pupils in the country  )

Gnarf 03-28-2003 02:48 PM
