They made one about 15 years ago but it never caught public interest.
It didnt stay on the market long. I know someone who has one and its only been used about twice. Didnt seem to really help with the game so it got shelved.

The ones I play are in modules. They are commonly found in Dungeon Magazine, more or less they're adventures you'll have to read all the way through and you'll have to take other players through it. Describe the rooms, pick out the monsters if you want, and so forth, pretty cool actually. I'm reading an Epic Level adventure right now called Nature's Revenge. Or, you can go to a near-by mall and buy one.

Cool Gangrel but for some reason Im not sure if were thinking aout the same thing.
And Im not sure were in Georgia(he doesnt live in Georgia ether ILL) but this year hes the Dungeon Mster and they are going to Finland to play. They have a Party of about 12?(one for each Characer class)and he plays a Paladin. For all I know some people on this Forum probably know him but just dont know who Im talking about.

Gangrell 03-17-2003 07:29 PM

Never heard of that kind of Dungeons and Dragons competition before, but it sounds good. Never understood whey they always hold competition in foreign countries though, America is just as good But you might be talking about the board game, but if you get the chance to talk to your friend again, ask him if he plays the boardgame or the modules themselves.

errr the D&D *board* is just a strategic map which gives visual aid to your D&D adventure, I tend to put lots of maps in my online role playing games... if you'd like to play D&D right this very second I recomend checking out Ironwork's Role Playing Forums

Young grasshopper, you have much to learn about hidding such in dubiously meaningful posts.

Consult with Masters Daveros or Donut. They will guide you to true subtletly.

Yea, but the modules usually have descriptive dialogue to tell the characters their surrounding and as for the visual "aids" they also have pictures to help along the imagination.

Ps- My 700th post, hehe :D

I don't know if this is a typo or not, but it certainly is funny!

The old Dungeons & Dragons board game was actually quite fun, but you had to have at least 4 players for it to be really exciting. If your fighter could get the +1 sword you pretty much had the game wrapped up....oh, the power.

Hi, Azred. Piestrider and I were talking the other day about playing BG, and how getting a +1 sword was like the greatest thing on Earth, er, Toril.

/)eathKiller 03-20-2003 10:12 PM

lol well I might check out the Ravenloft game, though I'm thinking about doing a game based on this article in "Dungeon" magazine soon, it's cool because the whole thing takes place inside of a giant mechanized building that walks around and has a megaphone

Gangrell 03-20-2003 10:41 PM

Dungeon Magazine does have some very good modules to play, worth subscribing for a year ;)

Ps- Thanks for the new sig DK

Dar'tanian 03-21-2003 08:09 PM

Cool I didnt know there was a Duengeon Magazine I gotta check that out.

TheCrimsomBlade 03-21-2003 11:24 PM

I own the Dungeon and Dragons board game it has a bunch of treasure cards, magic cards, monster cards and ability cards also little plastic adventuers. It takes a couple of hours to play, Each player tries to collect to $100,000.oo of treasure and gold first without being killed by a dragon or some other monster or by having the other playeres wizard card zap them with a lightihing card and get sent back to the start empty handed and then they get all your treasure and money and you have to start over and try to catch up with them again and zap them with a spell card to try to get your treasure and theirs befor they reach the $100,000.00 mark or you can play to the $1,000,000.oo point in the advanced version of the game and you gat to use the red and green dragon cards that game takes all day to play and you really need 4 people to play. It came out in 1990 or 91 it wasn't a bad game for its time but I havent played it for years and don't plan to but maybe some day when I get real old I'll break it out again.
And no I don't want to sell it!

/)eathKiller 03-21-2003 11:33 PM

There's also a Dragon and a Polyhederon Magazine...

Dar'tanian 03-22-2003 12:18 PM

Crimsons discription doesnt sound right ethier but i guess i need to ask this guy what he does. For some reason this game takes a while to play and i dont hin its online but maybe it is what gangel was talking about after all. I need to ask him. Were can I subscribe to that magazine?

I'm not too sure on that, I'll have to ask my uncle about it. I'll get back to you on it.

Gammit 03-22-2003 08:02 PM

Definitely a fun game. It helped introduce a few of my friends to D&D. Mmmmm, nostalgia.

Dar'tanian 03-28-2003 04:37 PM

This is what they do the dungeon master creates a dungeon map of their choice. They use the D&D hand book and ideas from duengeon magazine to create a dungeon and play thourgh it. I dont know if its computerized or not though.
