Oh sh!t! Yesterday I was chatting on MSN whilst running a bath only to walk in...to discover the bathroom had vanished under, like an inch of hot water.
If that wasn't bad enough the floor had gaps in and water had begun to flood the kitchen below too. I have short-circuited the entire ground floor of the house, run out of towels trying to mop it up, need a bath again, can't make anybody a cup of tea or cook, and nearly caused the bathroom floor to cave in!
WAAAAAAAAAAAA!
Not to mention the fact that my mother isn't speaking to me again...oops...
There's a lesson to be learned here: don't use MSN. Chat programmes damage the structral integrity of your home

Why'd you think I left your basement in the first place? You don't wanna see what I did there :D

Stratos 03-14-2003 07:27 AM

Heh...Can it get any worse? Seems you had some Really bad luck there. You probably need a good, relaxing warm bath

Conclusive proof that is bad for your health

Irongrinder 03-14-2003 07:50 AM

Lol, I'm glad I only take showers usually and hardly any baths in my own house

Dragonshadow 03-14-2003 08:30 AM

Oops. Bathrooms aren't meant to be flooded.
Metal Elf flooded ours the other day, and it dripped down into the hall.
Doesn't sound as bad as yours.
NOTHING sounds as bad as that.

Beaumanoir 03-14-2003 08:55 AM

God I wish my bath was like yours! My bath takes about 20 minutes to fill up because the taps are that slow! They're awful!!! :D

Ah well, Get Mopping ;)

Seriously tho - poor you :( any idea when everything'll be up n running again?

SomeGuy 03-14-2003 11:07 AM

See this is why I like showers better. Hope you get it fixed.

I'd be willing to make that sacrifice to get the IW chatroom up!

;)

I hope everything turned out all right :D

Sorry to hear about that Kaltia, that's another reason why I always take showers. Hope everything will be well soon.

Peace out and Happy Mopping

Epona 03-14-2003 04:02 PM

Oh dear oh dear! I have nearly done that myself on a number of occassions. Last time (and it is always the distraction of the PC that makes me forget I was running the bath) the water got right to the top and was just starting to lap over the edge of the bath. I was so angry with myself!

arion windrider 03-14-2003 04:16 PM

that sucks kaltia

Horatio 03-15-2003 07:31 AM

It was the topic icon that really made me laugh. :D

WillowIX 03-15-2003 07:33 AM

Oh dear Kat. The horrors of chat programs lol. You forget the other important thigs you ought to be doing. I hope everything will work out. At least you get to drink more coke since you can´t drink tea. ;)

Xero279 03-15-2003 07:02 PM

hehe dont feel bad. i do stuff like that all the time. :turns on the sink, looks around: "ooo, shiny computer..." :flood the whole bathroom and laundry room beneath it: hehe ;)

DraconisRex 03-15-2003 10:48 PM

Too funny! I've done that a lot in the kitchen. Accidently closing a drain while running water in a pot. Come back and water's everywhere.

How can someone start up a bath and forget about it? ;)

Hey, it happens. No matter how smart or educated you are. My wife has a PhD in Biology. She's also started showers and wandered off... And my in-law's christmas presents are all in their boxes, in her car trunk, as I write. Maybe they'll get mailed by November....
