It's -20 degrees F in Central Vermont at 4:45AM. I could use some of that Global Warming I keep hearing about! This has been the coldest Winter in years!

10 years sound about right? The winters of 92 and 93 were friggin cold! But it seems I didn't move far enough south cuz it's pretty cold in Joisey right now too.

Epona 02-14-2003 07:25 AM

-20 Farenheit? Good grief!
Coldest I've ever experienced was -12 Celcius in Prague, my camera shutter froze and jammed and I got frostbite cos I wasn't dressed for it (was on way back from Egypt where it had been between 20 and 30 Celcius - now that's the kind of winter I can handle).

Coldest it gets here in London is about -3 Celcius, and that's unusual. I can't imagine how -20 F feels!

Jeffi0 02-14-2003 07:35 AM

It was -32 C (-25 or -26 F) at my cottage last Saturday. Very, very cold. :(

Sir Krustin 02-14-2003 07:38 AM

It's been darn cold here for the past couple of days (-45C with windchill yesterday morning), and it's supposed to be cold through to saturday. brrr!

Glad I put the 0W30 in the car a couple of weeks ago. (poours like water in this weather)

Irongrinder 02-14-2003 07:48 AM

Arg, and I already can't stand the cold here in Holland with its -2 C :D

skywalker 02-14-2003 07:51 AM

It dropped to -24F (or -31C) at 6:30 when I left for work. Forecast says even colder Saturday night! Brrr!

We had two weeks of -30C being the average temperature, -42 at best. I donīt understand what can be so bad in as warm as -3C...

wow cold over there and warm here on the west coast what is with the weather? We stoped getting frost last week O_o

Sir Krustin 02-14-2003 04:49 PM

I think it has to do with the way the wind travels. We always seem to be hit by cold air coming from the northeast (jet stream?)

I know that British Columbia has very mild winters compared to us. Heck, they hardly get winter at all!

Cloudbringer 02-19-2003 01:49 PM

It's going to get above freezing!!! I can't believe it....above...above...ABOVE freezing! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeha!!!

Here in lovely Rochester where our motto is "If you don't like the weather, wait 15 minutes, it'll change" (and it does too) Where we've had days where it started out 60 F and by the end of the day it was below freezing and was snowing, it is going to be 46F tomorrow, and it will be 16F on Monday with snow/rain all weekend. Gotta love February, huh?

Sounds like Michigan weather. We have the same saying here, but we only have to wait 5 minutes before the weather changes!
