Which do you perfer xbox or ps2?
I like Xbox myself. All you ps2 lovers say the game selection THAT ALL IT HAS ;) Xbox has better grpahic and you can burn CD's .... sweet ! |
2-ps2's here.. did have a xbox but no really good rpg's so i got rid of it
|
your going to miss one huge rpg you can find it here Xbox is also getting FF11 and Phantasy Star
|
krift, i dont think ff11 will be out for xbox, for one thing it didnt even release for ps2. too many bugs cuz of the servers in japan... i think ill wait till games actually release for me to pick up another xbox... ;) im looking forward to ff10-2 :D
|
I don't own one, but I do agree that the PS2 has far better games than the Xbox (for now! ;) ). I appreciate the quality of the Xbox, and I hang on to mine for games like Halo. I've not seen another FPS that can compare (and this is coming from a non-FPS fan).
|
since I own both a xbox and a ps2 I don't really have a favorite. Xbox has better graphics and such but the ps2 has a better game selection. And later versions of the ps2 can burn cds.
|
PS2. So many more games... Maybe when more come out for Xbox it will be better than PS2.
|
both systems are good, but its the games that make the system
|
Sorry, but I loathe them both. Pistrider has them installed, and I cannot stand them. Me for the PC.
|
I prefer PS2 as it is a local product and it got a wide variety of games to choose from.
|
Xbox can burn CDs?!?!?! How?
|
Got em both so it dont matter to me really.
But I play on y PS2 much more, mainly because its got so many good RPG's, also with Xenosaga, .Hack and Breath Of Fire V for the PS2 out/coming out this month its gonna eb great, also the backward compatibility has me paying the PS1 RPG's too, XBox has much better graphics granted, but it cant burn CD's mate :D sure it can take the tracks of a CD and put it on your harddrive but thats a far cry from burning them, also the XBox doesnt have that many 'Custom Soundtrack' compatible games, or at least any good ones bar Tony Hawks 4 and Sega Rally 2002. More deep Xbox games are needed instead of the many brainless ones that are out, or just some damm fun ones! Either way, theyre both good, depends on what kind of game ou like, if graphics matter to you. Gte em both I say, s well as GameCube cause that is good too! Super Monkey Ball!!!!!!! :D |
PS2 for me
I've owned one for a year or so. I'm very happy with my purchase! I chose the PS2 for a number of reasons. *It has a greater variety of games which I am into. *DVD player! (I know the Xbox has one, but the PS2 did come out first) *It has a digital out! *Did I mention it has great games? :D (FFX, MGS2, PES2 just to name a few!) If I was rolling in dough, I'd probably buy an Xbox and a Gamecube! All the consoles have there great games, and I wish I could enjoy them all! |
PS2 for me. The backward compatability was a big seller there. I have a number of Playstation games and I still enjoy them very much. Also, I hate MS. I will NEVER buy an X-Box. Besides I have heard they are already working the bugs outta the PS3...mwahahahahaha!

PS3 is coming out soon............NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO *rips out his hair in rage* I just received PS2 now I am going wannna buy PS3!!!!!!
|
Neither. Want another gamecube. Much better IMO. Where are the zelda games for those PS2s and XBoxes? HMMM?? And all the other classics!? Things are just going to get more graphic-ized (is that a word?) and more expsenisive.
|
Yes the game selection is better but since the Xbox has better graphics big gamming commpanys are going to want to convert to Xbox just wait and see all the games it will have in a year
|
Xbox has better graphics, therefore, the XBox should be better. I'll be honest, I don't own any of them, my opinion is coming from screenshots
Ahh, it's been so long since I posted here... |

In my book, better graphics equals better games equals better gaming experience. And IIRC, GC games are priced the same as PS2 and Xbox games. The only game I know of that's more than the average $50-$60 range is Steel Battalion for Xbox, and that's because it comes with special equipment for the game. If you really want to compare, let's discuss old game/new game feedback with Nintendo. As soon as they develop a new system, they stop producing games for the predated system. That's bad marketing skills if you ask me. The only thing I can honestly say the GC has going for itself is those nifty wireless controllers. That's about it. Sorry for the skepticism. |
Microsoft can buy any games it wants so I'd go with them being the huge monopolizing Congromerate that Sony can only wish it was...
+ Halo halo good... Halo 2 better... |

PS2 has been the best for games so far, but I think XBOX is starting to catch up they are coming out with this sweet stars wars game Knight of the Old Republic, that looks positively wicked. Hunter is Xbox only and retty cool, I'm sure there are a number that I missed, but anyway as of right now I still prefer PS2.

In one of my computer magazines, it has the "computer of the month" as one that a guy had attatched a lot of systems to, inside it. The computer could be used as a PC, NES, SNES, Sega genesis, PS2, Xbox, and gamecube. |

I think the Xbox is better. My brother has a Playstation 2 and I have an Xbox so I'm in a position to judge both. Granted the playstation 2 has a bigger selection of games but the Xbox has better specs and remember there is alot of potentially good games coming out in 2003 for the Xbox. If you like FPS's like me you should buy a Xbox because there's alot of good ones for it like Halo, Serious Sam etc. Can't wait for Perfect Dark Zero :D .

Sorry to bump this thread up from the depths, but it's for a specific reason: I'm planning to get EITHER an X-BOX or a PS2 tomorrow because one of the electronics outlet stores here in Sydney is having a massive sale - the PS2 is going for A$280 (US$150) and the X-BOX is going for A$260 (US$135). I've heard good things about both, and the general arguments can be summarized as follows:
X-BOX: Better graphics, better machine, fewer games PS2: Graphics not as good, more games Is this still the case now? With a whole bunch of new games coming out, do I really need to have access to some of these older PS2 games? And what about PS2 Online vs. X-BOX live? Opinions please. ;) |
Well for Halo alone its worth getting an XBox. And having seen the previews for Halo 2 it's going to be even better. Also Deus Ex 2 will be on the XBox, from the reviews I've read it is going to be amazing. Think an open ended RPG (like Fallout) with all the best stuff from the first Deus Ex. I've had my XBox for over a year now and love it. I just wish they had GTA III or GTA Vice City for the XBox. Played those at a friends house and had a blast Oh and I have the PS2 controller

For XBox live it is $50 for the headset and a one year subscription to the service. |
PSO, sucks on consoles, too many cheaters...
MMORPS in general suck on consoles.. Huge RPGs, ok yea, but the graphics AREN'T GOOD I don't care what you say, the Xbox and the PS2 can't even TOUCH what i've got A nice... big... 3 Ghx PC... with Nvidia Geforce4 or better... You just plain can't touch this! That's all I'm saying... Consoles ae a waste of time and energy adn money, People who play phantasy star online for the DREAMCAST had to invest about 3,000 dollars into it in all to keep their characters alive Im talking Keybaords, controllers, Updates, downloads, play time accounts, improved benefits, phone assistance, re-purchasing the game after a hacker gets you banned, repurchasing your system and a whole new game just so your characters can live and you then have to make the service call to reset your account which only costs more money, then you want improved cable modems, Cable ISPs, and about 80000 human hours of playtime to achieve level 200 and say "I quit!" FOR WHAT!? that's just my point about Consoles and Games in general, and you can say your X box live service or yoru PS2 ISP is great, and guess what, I DONT CARE, because I can have ANY damn ISP I want, and I can use any peripherials and can CREATE videogames and MODIFY my games as I please, without worying abotu my graphics EVER.. and i mean EVER!!! slowing down... hence the PC rules all ^_^ *Thumbs down all consoles* There you got a rant out of me I'll be sure to not repeat myself for the rest of the year, so please heed my words carefully... Well i dont have even a console :( But if i had to choose, i would probably take the PS2, because i think it's more common over here. But XBox isn't that bad either. :D
|
I prefer the PS2 (a poll would have been interesting! :D ). I have to say, from what I've seen, the X-box graphics aren't that much better (and yes, I have played an X-box). PLus Knights Of The Old Rpeublic is coming out for the PC as well, which, as /)eathkiller said, rules all. Granted, I have a PS2, so what?! Plus the new Zelda game doesn't look so good for the Gamecube, too cartoony for me, same as Breath of Fire V for the PS2...I preferred the Zelda on the N64, which was a classic!

If the only plus of the PS2 is the huge amount of games, I'd buy the Xbox. Just look at some of the Xbox titles that are in the make
