Well it's been a while since the last one... a LONG while actually so I thought I'd bring another breath of nostalgia :D

So anyone out there like Transformers, have fond memories of them, amusing aneqdotes, collect them, wish to discuss the series or comic stroyline or anything!

As long as its transformer related its alright in here.

BTW the only series that I've seen is the Generation 1, and I've read the entire Uk and US comic collection (thanks to the good folks at Seibertron.com who have both the enbtire UK and US collection of comics on their site, aviliable for free viewing) ... nostalgia overload :D

Anyone seen the new series Armada, I saw an episode on Sky one and to be honest it seemed quite pants :D

I saw transformers Armada and its overwhelming badness made me think of the better days...before everything went ANIME style and you had to CATCH THEM ALL... damn pokemon :D

You ever liked transformers Kaltia?

Kaltia 02-04-2003 05:00 PM

Uh...I once had a toy that changed into a coke can and back...does that count?

Timber Loftis 02-04-2003 05:00 PM

I still got the Transformers/GI Joe crossover comics.

Favorite transformers scene: Starscream got gooed in the movie.

I beat the hell out of my Megatron. He was my 1st transformer and did double duty in the house fighting autobots on the floor as well as in the woods being my trusty back-up weapon and sniper rifle in war games. :D

Sigmar 02-04-2003 05:05 PM

...yes, yes it does count :D I never saw one of those... I've seen the coke cans that start dancing when you clap your hands.

Timber, you have the original Gi Joe crossover you say, not the one in Generation 2 where Megatron is recreated by Cobra?

Favourite Transformers scene- The Megatron Vs Optimus fight in the movie... the scene that had chldren everywhere holding the breath wile they awaited the outcome. The most memorable one for me.

SomeGuy 02-04-2003 05:09 PM

How many forms did Optimus Prime have? I remember him constantly going into different form thingies. What were some of them anyway? BTW Sigmar, you need to provide a link to the previous thread!

I'd have one hell of a time finding it :D

What differant forms do you mean anyway, from every series or just generation 1?

Ihave a picture of EVERY optimus Prime but its in the old thread... I'll try lookin' for it.

This one was so boring, it just shifted into a vaguely humonoid figure whilst showing all the coca-cola logos-can't tell it was "endoresed by coca-cola, could ya  :D

</font>
I remember that.I think I remember having his bat form, you know, the one with the scimatars under his wings. And I had a aligator/crocidile that I guess was Megatron. Then I had his ape form with the surf board thingy. And his ultimate one where he turned into a tank/monkey/jet/robot. That was when they had the beastwars stuff

Arledrian 02-04-2003 05:20 PM

I used to love Transformers. One quote I'll never forget: (Optimus Prime to Megatron) "Pick on a mechanism your own size!"

That one had me in hysterics :D

Sigmar 02-04-2003 05:24 PM

I found the old thread- http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/cg...0;t=010685;p=1

Enjoy :D

Timber Loftis 02-04-2003 05:26 PM

Forms of Optimus Prime? WTF? He's an 18-wheeler, plain and simple. All the crap that came later is actually a DIFFERENT toy riding on the coat-tails of the good stuff. Beastwars - pffft. They can go to hell with Serpentor for all I care.

Jeffi0 02-04-2003 05:55 PM

I got one free with a Wendy's Kids Meal several years ago. It didn't look like a robot or a car (which I think were the two forms) and it broke in about three days. I'm guessing that's not what they're all like...

AzRaeL StoRmBlaDe 02-04-2003 08:44 PM

Transformers are sweet. I wanted to be Optimus Prime when I was little Thats all I wanted to say.

harleyquinn 02-05-2003 08:25 AM

I used to love them. My brother and I saw the movie about 10 times when we were kids. I say used to, because I was involved for 3 years with a guy who was obsessed with them, to the point that he'd even spend our rent money on them. To the point where people coming to our place thought we had a kid because there were so many of them all over the entire apartment. I'm just now slowly getting back into them.
Starscream was my favorite as a kid!

Arnabas 02-05-2003 10:24 AM

Man, I LOVED the Transformers!! I had hours upon hours of fun with all my toys... I always used to imitate the "transforming" sound effect while I was changing them from car to robot and back again.
Optimus Prime ruled!! I also loved Wheeljack and Grimlock.
Starscream was a blast and so was Soundwave with his various minion cassettes!
Aaahhh.... Nostalgia!
I loved in Beast Wars when they showed the originals.... That was cool... Or when Starscream's "spark" came back.
The movie was cool, too. I still have the soundtrack.
Oh, and Spike swore in the movie. That shocked me.
I loved the voice of Optimus Prime (he also did Venger on D+D)

Legolas 02-05-2003 10:31 AM

They actually started reruns in the Netherlands a few weeks back. Shouldn't have moved, Arledrian ;)

harleyquinn 02-05-2003 11:20 AM

Darn you, Sigmar, for this post! I just got out of a meeting and I can't tell you 1/2 of what was said because I had "Transformers, more than meets the eye..." going through my head the whole time

Hasbro recently filed a cease and desist order against some transformer sites. Especially sites with scans. Seibertron going down seems eerily coincidental.

TFArchive received a similar desist letter... :(
btw, there could be other causes for Seibertron's disappearance as well; the webmaster has some serious legal problems after promising to order and distribute hundreds of comics for their members, but these members a) never received the promised comics and b) never got a refund either, despite month after month of asking for refunds. Making the downtime even more eerily coincidental, only not the good kind.

The latest news is that Seibertron's webmaster has run out of money and took his site offline in the hope that his members are going to help him with donations. That guy's got some serious trouble, if you consider the above as well...

Optimus miraculously came back to life again to save the toy sales from dropping, though... ;)

Not sure if the whole site was a con job in the first place, if I understand correctly the site was around long before the webmaster set up his business venture. Transformersource.net is also down as well, damn. Damn Hasro that is. :(

Say do you follow Armada, I heard there's been an appearence by Unicron, is this true?

Absolutely no idea. I've only seen the first three episodes of Armada, and it was quite disappointing (mostly because it's a bit too much focused on the Pokemon generation, even worse than RiD was), so I haven't bothered with the rest so far.

Oh, but never claimed he was successful. Nevertheless, he's no stranger to dying and miraculous resurrections, both in the cartoons and comics.
