As many of you know, my friend that hosted my website went down, and I busted butt to get Ironworks back up. I am now hosting the server at Home now, and now, I have to pay the full amount each Month--which is pricey. But, with your help, we can keep the Website up for a LONG time into the future.

If you would like to help out, and donate, via Paypal (Secure) you may click here: http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/noncgi/donate.shtml and click on the PayPal button.

If you want to send a check or moneyorder, click on that link above and scroll to the bottom and you will see my address (and instructions).

I hate to ask, but since we can't exist now without donations, I must. :(
If I had the money, I would pay for it, and you guys know that!

Thanks guys,

Dan

Sorry Ziroc, can't do anything this month - will send you something in March.

I`ll send you some money just as soon as I can get my hands on some.

harleyquinn 02-04-2003 07:56 AM

I've paypaled you some $$. Sorry it couldn't be more, but please, don't apologize for asking for some monetary help. I use this forum enough that I don't mind helping out with what I can.
Thank you for the great service you're providing all of us!!

Callum Kerr 02-04-2003 07:58 AM

Hmmm... I would but... at 14 the parent's control the output, and they would NOT let me send money to a website... to help me with MORE games... would if i could... sorry

Timber Loftis 02-04-2003 09:59 AM

Done.

Arledrian 02-04-2003 02:06 PM

I'll Paypalise you as soon as I get my account set up, which really shouldn't be very long at all.

LOL, that's ok - nobody here should feel like they need to account for why they can/can't are/are not contributing. Everyone knows there are people here who are too young and so on to contribute. Actually, I seem to remember a discussion about it a while back.

It's a damn shame that forums based on letting lots of people have a good time become prohibitively expensive as they get more successful. Even running a small one costs.

*sigh*, oh for the days that the advertisers would pay silly money for a banner on a site :(

Yea, thats my, unfortunate, problem as well. I seem to remember a while ago, having a donation button up at the top...why not add that in again, as well?

Doh! :D

By the way, Goulum: there's a spelling mistake in your sn. The mods won't let me make a thread for it, so

Wish I could help but I can't. I'm a student, so I've got squat :(

But hell, Z, if a long-lost uncle of mine with a hidden forutne and a haunted house dies, you'll be the first to know

SomeGuy 02-04-2003 06:29 PM

Sorry Ziroc. If I could make a donation I would , but there's now way I could get my parents to let me.Sorry.

Sir Goulum: sn=screen name. Hope this is what you meant

Gammit 02-04-2003 06:56 PM

Happy news, Z. I found out today that financial aid at my university screwed me out of some dough... so you'll have some money from The Gammit as soon as the check gets to me.

P.S. talking about yourself in the 3rd person is just downright weird

It's nothing compared to talking about yourself in the plural.... right Groj? (my sides still hurt :D )

Anyway, when I can I will, Dan. Right now, I'm starting in University again and living off basically nothing. Less than nothing even, need to make multiple debts to even be able to make things work. But as soon as I can, I will!!

Animal 02-04-2003 07:51 PM

Ziroc,

I may be able to provide you with a possible solution for the overhead costs of IW. Drop me an e-mail or PM if you're interested.

Mr_Krift 02-05-2003 10:11 AM

yea im also too young :-(

Annatar 02-07-2003 07:27 AM

I would donate if I could... but I'm also to young to make a donation.... I'll try my parents for donating some $$ :D

Ziroc 02-07-2003 09:08 AM

We are getting close to the bill due date, and we are very low in donations still. :(If we can't reach the goal, the service will probably be cut) :(

I was thinking since we had 11,000 members, we'd atleast get this covered when I moved this all to the house.. I'm sure we'll pull through with your help though We wouldn't be here without you guys!!!!

Thanks!!!

Would they accept money where I am from?

Probably no, you would have to echange them into dollars, but if you got a visa card, I think it wold be exchanged automatically.

Id hate to see the Ironworks going down. So someday in the future when I get my new job, I'll sure send some donations. I live in Norway which is one of the most expensive countries in the world to live in. That also means that our income is way bigger than most countries in the world. An average income in England would be about £10.000 a year me thinks. Thats what I earn working part time on a supermarket. So a small donation for me would be a big donation for you

Edit: Duh

Brennihelvte: You put the pound sign before the amount, like £10,000, k

I'd send some but I'm broke  Maybe Ziroc should charge me for spamming when I get a job.... :D (I'd be in debt aged sixteen! Ooooh, that's scary )

Timber Loftis 02-07-2003 12:55 PM

For you international folks, you should pay by credit card. I try to only use credit cards for international transactions, because you always get the *best* exchange rate. You know how the currency changers have the "buy" and "sell" rate - you always get the better. It can make a decent difference.

Bungleau 02-07-2003 03:30 PM

Z,

How 'bout an indication of how much this is running, dollar-wise? Do you need to come up with $100/month, $1000, $10,000?

That might help us to get a better grip on it.

Some help is on the way, BTW.

Thanks.

*B*

Sir Krustin 02-07-2003 10:27 PM

Hey, Z, I'm planning on sending a money order out next week (sorry, I don't use credit cards or paypal).

For those of you on the edge, even a small donation can make a difference - there are over 10,000 members here and even if everybody only sent in a dollar, the effect on Z's bank account would be enormous!

To put this in perspective, if 100 people each pledged $12 for a year of service, that would mean Z would have $100/mo to pay for his service for a full year!

Memnoch 02-09-2003 03:39 AM

I've just sent something out to you, mate. Check your Paypal account.

machinehead 02-09-2003 04:13 AM

I will be sending you a check Monday.

wellard 02-09-2003 09:44 PM

G'day Ziroc
Just sent you $ via pay pal, Gives a big warm manly hug* and thanks for the good job!

* swap for a good strong handshake if you prefer

SecretMaster 02-13-2003 03:36 PM

Its kinda weird if you think about it. If all the members of IW donated 1 dollar each, Ziroc would have enough money for a long vacation, and he could have IW open for awhile.

BTW I'm to young, but once I reach 18 and get a job that pays me decently, I'll gladly pay you as much as possible.

Mahlennacht 02-17-2003 05:16 AM

Hi Ziroc - just transmitted another 20 your way - hope it helps (everyone at work unexpectedly got a 20 for the holiday from our nice boss)

Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but I don't suppose there is anything I can do in my browsing habits to help bring the cost down??? [I don't know how bandwidth works yet]

Thanks & Best of luck

wellard 02-17-2003 04:54 PM

BUMP

if this used to be a sticky it is now proof positive that Ironworks is falling apart! :D

come on guys and girls lets pay our dues

Gammit 02-17-2003 04:56 PM

Just got my check last week. The IW check is going in the mail tomorrow, Z. $60 for you, for us.

Thank you, and everyone that has donated! It REALLY helps, and we can pay the bills that keep IW running. Without you folks, IW would probably be down.

So, a HUGE thanks!!
