Why am I fighting to live
if I'm just living to fight? Why am I trying to see if there is nothing in sight? Why am I trying to give if no one gives me a try? Why am I dying to live if I'm just living to die? |
Why do you ask questions which mortal men/women have no answers?
Why do I bother to post my answer even if I have none? [ 01-26-2003, 11:34 PM: Message edited by: Paladin2000 ] |

Are these lyrics in a song? If not, they would be.

"The torrents' joy is not the arrival in the lake; the torrents' joy is the encounter with the boulders".
It is the closing sentence of Albert Jacquard's book "The Legend Of Life". Albert Jacquard a famous French scientist (geneticist) and a Christian. |
Mmm...
You know I've heard it said there's beauty in distortion By some people who withdraw to find their head Now they say that there is humour in misfortune Sometimes I wonder if they'll laugh...when I am dead... |
Because.
On the other hand, 42 |
Very deep. Did you write it? Should be made into a song if it isnt already
|
Well written mate.
Why don't you join us here? I get the feeling you'd fit right in ;) |

You know some people say that values are subjective But they're just speaking words...that someone else has said... And so they live and fight and kill with no objective Sometimes it's hard to tell the living from the dead |
wow... that's deep...
|
Hey, hey, hey, hey...
Now I used to weave my words...in deep confusion So I hope you'll understand me...when I'm blue... Now I used to live my life as an illusion But reality will make my dream come true |

So I'll keep fighting to live
If there's no reason to fight And I'll keep trying to see... Until the end is in sight You know I'm trying to give So come on...give me a try You know I'm dying to live |
wow! that's nice.

I should point out that none of the words in my post are my own. There are from a song by Edgar Winter, as is the original post.

Together Forever,
A man's beginning, Is another's end, So sayeth one, Who is a Friend, I see what you know, And you know what I see, Because what I see, Is an echo of me, A friend is one, That becomes a part, Of everything I am, including my heart, We are the sum of each other, Til the last breath draws, And at that time, Eternity calls, Together Forever. |
This was the last thing that I posted before leaving IW for awhile. As the pastry with a hole stated, this is an Edgar Winter and White Trash song titled "Dying to Live". The reason I posted it was that it spoke very strongly about my own feelings at the time. As I had put in another post a young man, who I considered as one of my sons, had just died of a heroin overdose. When I posted I was stuck in the first verse but now I've made it through to the songs end and a much brighter outlook.
