Come in, be welcome, be comfortable, be yourself

Welcome to Cloudy's Cafe, a place to have a cup of coffee or a good
darjeeling and the finest in conversation and camaraderie.

The proprietor asks that you follow a few simple guidelines:

<H3>this is a real conversation zone, not a role-play zone</H3>

* no flaming; if you disagree with a viewpoint expressed by any patron, please do so in a civil manner

* any topic is fair game, but keep posts to the standards that Ziroc has set for the entire forum, please (ie: foul language is not appropriate and things should be suitable for all audiences)
-a side note from Cloudy: I see this as a place for those short
conversations about a new baby or the latest soccer fiasco, not for things that are big enough to warrant their own threads, by all means give those things the space they need and post separately!

* Please, no one word or smiley posts (Ziroc has declared them 'real spam' and the proprietor doesn't want the reputuation of "good spam" to suffer!)

* do feel free to be serious or silly and enjoy the company of others while you are here. By all means POST if you have something to say, even to start another topic , we can handle multiple chats, we're a CAFE!!! But be courteous and don't disrupt a conversation just to disrupt it.

Come on in! The bar is stocked with coffees, teas, juices and waters from around the world. And purple napkins, of course!

<font color="pink">The lighting is low, the golden oak counters and tables glow with inviting warmth. Near the window, the lighting is brighter, as comfy, plush leather armchairs wait for those who'd like to read a book while relaxing to music or just lazily watch the world go by.</font>

Good morning everyone! (Second post)

Attalus 11-30-2002 09:51 AM

Morning, DK. Looks like something ... um ... significant is going to happen on your next post. ;)

Cloudbringer 11-30-2002 09:54 AM

Good Morning Attalus and DK!

Happy 3000, DK...well, not yet , but I'm leaving just now so I might miss it. :D

Hey gang, just in case everyone misses this in the old Cafe, I'm posting here too. It's just a personal request, so please don't anyone take offense! :D

*************
There's a new Cafe, everyone!

And can I ask a favor? Asking someone to post to an rp once in a while is ok, but could we limit it to a few times a week or so? It's something that only a few people participate in and it sorta makes the Cafe into a private roleplay pm board. Most of the time Pm's and email are much better for asking folk to post to a game.

And NO, I'm not upset with anyone here, so don't worry about that! I just realized that there have been alot of "please post to" this or that game messages lately and only a few people here are playing in them.

I'm off to go shopping, hope you all have a good day!

**********************

Take care everyone, see you later!

Attalus 11-30-2002 09:55 AM

No worries, Cloudplayer, I never do. I've pretty much quit going to RP, anyway.

Ronn_Bman 11-30-2002 09:57 AM

Understood Cloudy, and remember to buy me something nice. It doesn't have to be expensive, but if it is I'll know how much you really love me.

/)eathKiller 11-30-2002 09:59 AM

BLAM! ok so maybe that wasn't as big a deal as you're 10,000 or anyone's 1000...

I just opened a bag of funions and there was only one and a half funions inside... what the heck!?

Ah, my favorite avatar, Dracolich. Trade ya. :D

Elif Godson 11-30-2002 10:34 AM

Hey all, I can finally post here from my back up pc :D Turns out my big pc blew a fuse or rather its memory, anyone know where I can get some cheap PC2100 512 or 256 DDR mem ? I know price watch has a good deal on it but I want it now

Attalus 11-30-2002 10:41 AM

Morning, Elif. I know that when I needed some, I went to Fry's, but I don't know if the monetary savings were worth it. Piestrider says Circuit City has it, but I don't know on my own account. Have a good weekend. ;)

Elif Godson 11-30-2002 10:48 AM

Thanks Attalus you to ;) was looking at the prices they charge and I think I will have to wait on the mail, it will save almost 100.00 $ through price watch.

Ronn_Bman 11-30-2002 10:48 AM

Staples should have it, too, but you'll definately pay more. ;)

Ronn_Bman 11-30-2002 10:52 AM

Did you try newegg?

I got a very good price on my graphics card and received it the second business day after ordering(coast to coast),even though I'd taken the free standard shipping.

Elif Godson 11-30-2002 10:59 AM

hmm, mayhap I shouls check new egg, I got my video from pricewatch and it took them a week to get it to me from Ohio.

Elif Godson 11-30-2002 11:07 AM

hey you wouldnt happen to know if all crucial memory has a lifetime warranty ?
Because every pc 2100 256 that i have looked at has a lifetime warrenty and that is what I have in my pc

Blind_Prophet 11-30-2002 12:11 PM

Good afternoon. how are you all this day? :D

Azred 11-30-2002 12:14 PM

<font color = lightgreen>Good morning, everyone. Really beautiful day here, today.

<font color = red>Belle</font> and I made our own Thanksgiving feast on Thursday--no moohcing off relatives! We had great fun sharing the kitchen (despite all the dishes) and really enjoyed the results. We also decided to put up our Christmas tree and lights, so we're already prepared for the next big holiday. When the current roll of film is used up, I'm thinking of putting a couple of pictures on Stealthy's site.

Becuz I'm fat!I'm fat c'mon!
(Fat! Fat! Really,really fat!)
*Get booed off* dang...

Elif Godson 11-30-2002 01:31 PM

Dont know if I have said this, but it is a wonderful world :D
Crucial has lifetime warranty's on there memory and will be sending me out a new stick woooooooohooooooooooooooooooooooo

Ronn_Bman 11-30-2002 01:37 PM

Crucial is great!

The last non-proprietary Ram I bought was from Crucial. It was super cheap, shipped quickly, and has the warranty. It was last year, so I got a 128MG stick for my HP Pavilian for $17! It's not that cheap anymore though...

Gotta love a lifetime warranty! ;)

Hi, Azred. Yeah, we did Thanksgiving on our own for the first time, and everything turned out well except for the giblet gravy. Guess we'll try a different recipe. Christmas dinner we are going to have Prime Rib with a tru=ied and true red wine sauce, so no probs there. ;)

Calaethis Dragonsbane 11-30-2002 04:16 PM

Hi all, what you all been up to? Went to the cinama today, saw "Die another day". lol, I wont post my comments on the film tho ;)

Slizerio 11-30-2002 04:24 PM

Morning Y'all and um.. morning. *runs off , with nothing to say*

Attalus 11-30-2002 04:24 PM

Afternoon, CD. I haven't seen a Bond movie in years. I take it you didn't enjoy it?

Calaethis Dragonsbane 11-30-2002 04:38 PM

It was ok, but all the bad puns are annoying. I thought it was a BOND film, NOT Triple X, heh, well, the special effects were WAAAAAAAAAY over the top. :( still it was ok. ;)

Slizerio 11-30-2002 04:41 PM

I think Bond movies are a *SNORE* There so repetitive. The same things happen in every oneof them!!

Ronn_Bman 11-30-2002 05:01 PM

I hadn't seen a Bond film in years, until GoldenEye, and the only reason I ended up renting it was because I loved the N64 game so much. It was pretty good, but probably not something I'd go to the theater to see.

I'm more of a "wait and rent it" kind of guy unless it's something I'm REALLY excited about. Heck, I didn't even go to the theater to see Star Wars Episode II! After seeing it on DVD though, I wish I had. That was a good flick.

Blind_Prophet 11-30-2002 05:03 PM

Star Wars episode1 was so bad i didn't even watch episode2.

Slizerio 11-30-2002 05:06 PM

Shame. II is WAY better than I, especially the part where yoda fights!!

Blind_Prophet 11-30-2002 05:11 PM

Well if you guys think its good i might have to go to blockbuster soon and check it out :D

I forced myself to watch the Episode II and.... that actor was so uncomfortable acting in the role of to-be-Darth Vadar that it's pathetic in the movie.

now that Yoda can kick butt if he wants to. must be lots of Ben-Gay ointments he used.

brought and saw 'Ice Age' not bad... just the plots I've seen many times before. good graphics and silly stuff

'Spirit' is interesting but parts of the movie was too depressing that I was ready to turn it off if it does not pick up soon.

No my friend, don't be lured away by false beliefs....

Focus on "The Schwartz".

Episode II wasn't perfect, but I thought it was really good. Much better than Episode I, as someone else mentioned.

Adam, my wife loved "Spirit" but she likes movies that make her cry...lol.

Lady Blue03 11-30-2002 05:51 PM

<font color=pink>'Lo all!

I havnt been around GD lately, and 'm sorry. Both Laurie and Romey told me it isn't as friendly as it was. Was there a heated argument or 3 that I missed? Ach, figures

Attalus 11-30-2002 05:54 PM

I think we are going to rent "Episode II" though my son is getting the VHS from his grandmother. I saw Episode I for the first time Thursday night. Better than I thought, but no Empire Strikes Back.

Ronn_Bman 11-30-2002 06:02 PM

***clears a seat at a really good table and hands Lady Blue a drink ***

Just as friendly as ever.
