what does Imao mean?

Witchhunter 06-16-2002 07:16 PM

LMAO means laugh my a** off. Internet language.

The Jabberwocky 06-17-2002 03:13 AM

I know what LMAO is... but *I*MAO?? ... "In my ***'s opion"? :D ::gets hit by rocks::

Zuvio 06-17-2002 03:26 PM

The I (or i) = L (or l) in internet language.

Grojlach 06-19-2002 03:57 AM

And similarly, ROFLMAO is also commonly used, meaning something along the lines of "Rolling on the floor laughing my a** off". ;)

I just learned today that L33t means cool. Why? Some obscure reason.

Still haven't figured out what k3wld00dz means (I get the dudes part).

l33t is a slur of 'elite'. So actually it doesn't mean cool, it means elite. Which has me stumped as there is no way in which I can possibly see users of l33t speak as elite or superior to those who don't.
The other term you mention I guess means cool dudes. Spelling cool as kewl, another 'elite' invention. Bah. :D

If you want some good advice, stay away from people who spell like that, and most of all don't start using it yourself. It will only make you look like a damn fool who can't even spell proper English and it's such a drag having to spell |_ | |< 3 this when you can just write like this..... ;)

(for the illiterate: use this handy tool to translate binary to the uncool english language. :D )

Not only that, it makes you look like a WANNABE hacker (with emphasis on WANNABE). ;)

Depends on your definition of "cool", of course.
