Have you got tattoos? If you just said (or thought) "yes",then please answer!
Whatkind of tattoo? Why did you take it? Did you draw it yourself,or is it from a picture? What did you feel when you took it? Do you think that it hurt? Where did you take it?
Lets all share some nice tattoo experiences! :D

johnny 11-12-2002 10:45 AM

I have a giant flower on my upper right arm, it was kind of a bet when i was 15, which got me in a lot of trouble with my folks, especially when i mentioned that i wanted another tattoo on my upper left arm the next week. It never got that far. :D Now, i don't really care much for tattoos anymore. I wouldn't mind if the stupid thing was gone.

SpongeBobTheDestoyer 11-12-2002 11:23 AM

flower, cool, does it look like this johnny? Just kidding.

On my right upper arm I have a tat of two dragons arcing over a purple crystal ball. And I tell my son that they are him and I. I got it in Las Vegas about 2 years ago. I was going to get it as a part of my bachelor party when I went 3 years ago but I couldn't decide what I wanted. So a year later I made up for it. Why did I get it-I guess it' a basketball thing, I play a lot and tattoo's are way to express yourself a little differently on the court. Kind of like Knights with their crests and emblems on their sheilds and stuff.

Epona 11-12-2002 11:37 AM

I haven't got a tattoo and wouldn't want one! It doesn't offend me if other people have them though, I just don't like them myself. Oh and I don't like them all over people's faces, yuk! I don't like doing anything permanent to myself, haven't even got my ears pierced.

khazadman 11-12-2002 11:54 AM

I have an eagle on my upper right arm. And I am thinking about getting another for my upper left. You know, to balance things out.

LordKathen 11-12-2002 12:11 PM

I have calvin and hobbes on my left forearm. calvin is flippin the finger to hobbes, who is about to pounce him. I got it when I was 19, about 11 years ago. I have another on my right calf thats says "Palani". It's the middle name of a friend of mine that died way back when...

purre 11-12-2002 12:18 PM

You have nice tattoos!
Maybe I should tell about mine...
I have a -cute- dragon in my right arm (well, its more like shoulder),I took it as a birthday present at my 16th birthday.Well, actually mom did pay for it.
This year in my 18th birthday I took another, and paid for it too! It is a sword ,which is almost as long as my back,it starts from my neck.It sort of covers my spine.I designed it by myself.

That would be a great idea. Are you planning on taking exactly the same kind,or a bit different?

AzRaeL StoRmBlaDe 11-12-2002 01:23 PM

Nah, it's a big rose. :D

Downunda 11-12-2002 02:16 PM

Don't have any personally - wouldn't mind a Chinese style dragon on a shoulder blade or something but I'm in no hurry.
Another member, Slackerboy, has a couple along with some piercings...

I turn 18 on the 21st of this month, and that is when my tatoo spree begins. So far, I want four. (Not all at once).

A chinese symbol on each shoulder, one saying Mum, one saying Dad.

On the bottom of my back, my childrens name in a nice font (when I have kids this one)

A celtic band around my ankle.

If Slackerboy was only here, he was the guru of Tattoos and Piercings!

No, that would be one of my buds. On his legs alone he has 20 tattoos, 10 on each leg, and i don't even mention the rest of his body. :D

I'm getting this up near my right shoulder very soon. I just can't decide where to go to get it done.

Rotterdam (when you're back here that is) he won the "best tattooing" award last time i've read about it. I believe his name is Tattoo Bob

I don't have any tattoos but i thought about getting them several times. The problem i have is i don't know what i'd get and i don't really think a tattoo should be an impulse buy.

I'd get on my right shoulder blade if i do get one

Sorcerer Alex 11-12-2002 02:42 PM

Cool, thanks Johnny, I'm back in Holland for New Year

Melusine 11-12-2002 02:49 PM

Alex, when you do, make sure someone with enough expertise (prolly the tatooer himself) checks out the spacing in those letters.
You probably just typed them out like that, but the problem with using a computer font is that the spacing isn't always right in every word you type.
I practise calligraphy and I noticed right away the "exa" part isn't spaced right....
Good luck with the tattoo though.
Hmm... and errr.... K3? Maar op wie dan? Kathleen of Karin of hoe heten ze? Of gewoon maar alledrie tegelijk? Iedereen kan toveren! ;)

Oh as for the topic, no I don't have any tattoos and I wouldn't want any either, just don't like em. And too permanent.
I used to have my nose pierced (small silver ring) but I took that out as well.

Sorcerer Alex 11-12-2002 02:58 PM

Thanks Sarah, I know I'll probably have to settle for different lettering; I had my doubts that it could be done that way too. I'll see what happens.

And yes. Op alledrie. I never do things by halves. Or thirds :D

Melusine 11-12-2002 03:00 PM

Well good luck! Let me know if there's anything I can do to help! (with the letters, not K3 ;) )

Well,I recommend that you take a lot of time thinking whatkind of tattoo. When you have decided,it would be wise to think it again, just to be sure. There is a way of removing them, but I heard that it is very painful and leaves a scar.

Leonis 11-12-2002 03:16 PM

Black gothic cross, right shoulder blade.
Got it when I was 19 and have wanted another ever since, but there always seems to be something else prioritising my $$$

For me, it's a money thing. I've always had something better to do with a few hundred extra bucks. I have a pierced ear from when I talked my aunt into ramming a wig pin through my ear when I was 14. It's all but grown over now, as I never wear it anymore. I quoted Johnny to illustrate the money thing. Does this friend have a car? He could - a nice one.

Matter of fact, no he doesn't. But that has nothing to do with the fact he spends loads of money on tattoos, it has EVERYTHING to do with the fact that he is always drunk and not able to drive anyway. :D

NiceWorg 11-12-2002 04:57 PM

IŽd only take one if there would be something that really matters to me, but at the moment there isnŽt anything. Things like tattooing your favourite bands or your womanŽs name would be unwise, you cannot be sure if they last forever.

purre 11-12-2002 04:58 PM

In Kuopio it isnt possible to get a tattoo of someones name.

My upper left arm needs one also. It's jealous of the tatted one.

I always used to think people that said tatoos were addictive, would have gotten a lot of tatoos anyway. After getting one in Sep., I kind of know what they meant. And it wasn't near as painful as my aunt's made it sound. One aunt was suprised that mine looked so nice so soon after getting it done (her's stayed red for over a week!)
I got a little tiger on the back of my right shoulder. If I get another one, I'm thinking of either a tiger lily or a spider on my left hip.

Of course I have to give some advice for anyone thinking of getting their first. Take at least several months (or even a year) to think about living the rest of your life with whatever you choose. Whenever I see some teenage girl with a tattoo on her belly or low on her chest I think "she must not be thinking what that's going to look like if she gains weight".

I thought you were going to go with a celtic armband?

Lanesra 11-13-2002 07:25 AM

Here's a tip, get a friend to punch you very hard on the upper arm, say about twenty times, wait a few days for the bruises to form...this is gods way of telling you if you'd look good with tattoos. :D

Arnabas 11-13-2002 09:27 AM

I have a howling wolf silhouetted against the moon on my left arm to represent my love of wolves. A pagan symbol for protection is on my right arm to represent my faith. I also have a dragon on my right leg and a small Canadian flag on my left shoulder.

Megabot 11-13-2002 09:42 AM

No i dont have any and i dont want any! :D

You are right,it doesnt hurt nearly as much as some people make it sound.I think that taking a tattoo feels like a cat scratching. That doesnt hurt.

For some parts it felt a little like the corner of a razor being pressed into my shoulder. It wasn't at all like pinpricks, like everyone said. The worst part to me was the ichyness the week after. It drove me nuts trying to keep from scratching! Two months later and it looks great! (Now showing at Stealthy's)

Animal 11-13-2002 08:37 PM

I've got a few myself, a skull and crossbones and my right bicep, s skull with flames shooting out of the sides on my left forearm and a cherry, well we can't discuss where that is, but I'm quite sure you can figure it out if you think hard enough. Anyway, my point being, they may seem kinda cool at first, but you may not in the future. I wish I never got mine.

Lord of Alcohol 11-13-2002 08:53 PM

I dont have any tatoos, as has been said way to permanent for me lol. Came close in the military but never did. As for people getting their name on their backs..Arledrian/Alexander well I had a guy working for me a few years ago. Had his name "Larry" tatooed in fairly decent caligraphy on his back. Well within seconds of him showing us his new tattoo it was suggested that it would make it easy for his new boyfriends to know his name if he went to jail.
