Just a reminder when posting a message--when you type your header/title of the message, please make is as descriptive as possible.

Example:

Wrong way:
"Walking....."

Right way:
"Walking through the halls of school"

I am seeing a lot of 1 or 2 word headers, and no one will have any idea what the Author is talking about. You will also get your post read by more people, the more descriptive it is.

Anyone else agree?

Nanobyte 10-30-2002 11:14 PM

I feel enlightened somehow.. Oh the mystical powers you possess Ziroc! I'll be sure to make mine LONG and DESCRIPTIVE.

Yes, sir. I agree sir. I found that being expository is best at all times. Well, being expository coupled with being a bit verbose. Granted, my topics drop like a stone because I can't relate to most, but I do try.

:D

Ziroc, laying the SMACK DOWN! ;)

Just trying to make is as smooth as possible for everyone..

BUT... Don't be making your headers/titles like this:

"I am sick of the stick of burning pumpkins on halloween! Once in 1984, my brother burned his pumpkin on the porch, left a mark, it did! then I......"

;)

It's about time someone spoke up and said that... all shall obey! for Ziroc has spoken! I was getting a little tired of threads called "Genes" without actually saying what you were about to read, be it blue jeans or genetic code, or people doing things WITH the Genetic code or people solving crimes with DNA evidence and then you find out its some Typo by someone who wants to rant about Lee Dungarees! Ok bad example, but it's an example anyway...

Whatabout, "People from Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysilio gogogoch with pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis who believe in antidisestablishmentarianism.."

That is acceptable, right? :D

Redblueflare 10-30-2002 11:48 PM

Why do I have a feeling this is for me and everyone else who likes ... titles. I gotcha!

That Sig image (even though it is 2 seperate images) is not allowed. Resize it No loop-holes in THAT rule! (Same for you Blue dude!) ;) naughty, naughty.. think you can sneak that through... heh..

Mack_Attack 10-31-2002 01:15 AM

No problem. I was one of the offenders. :(
I came here today and saw "Names for a baby boy" and thought "hey, someone else is having a kid. Oh... wait..."
I shall obey!

Hey Deathkiller, if Ziroc had just told me my sig pic was too big, I'd say "Ok, I'll comply with your request to size it down" and if I had any doubts about my following the rules properly or being misjudged, I'd email that question/concern to him. ;) Of course, that's just me.....but I'd heartily recommend that course of action to anyone who had the same thing happen.

Z! Yes, this is a timely post! I'd starting noticing that I scroll through a lot of thread titles and don't read them if I can't figure out what it is about in a few seconds. You definitely get more participation if it's obvious what's being talked about!

/)eathKiller 10-31-2002 08:41 AM

It's been done

But if you want to make it official:

Ok! I will see to it that your request is filled out and done!

<font color="plum">Good idea and great reminder, <font color="yellow">Ziroc</font>.

Had I known that <font color="silver">IronRanger</font> was "Rambling" about Religion...I would have been in that thread from Page 1. As it was, I didn't even look at it until the <font color="lime">Magik</font> man referenced it in a completely different thread.</font>

Just to add in, Nanobyte, I learned how to say "Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysili ogogogoch" a couple of years ago. Won't claim that my gaelic accent is good, but I know all the pieces.

Place goes by "Llanfair" most of the time now. More's the pity...

<font color="#00ccff">I suppose we can no longer say "A little Header" is a good thing. :( </font>

I'll try Z! I just always think that I'll drone it out, so they become ultra short!

Agree and *bump* I hate opening a thread only to find out it was nothing like what the limited title implied...
