Well which one's your favourite and explain why.

The choices I provided were the one's I remembered and enjoyed, feel free to suggest some that aren't on the list.

My favourite one "Lord shield's Bar" simply because it was without a doubt the funniest thread I ever had the pleasure of posting in.

Megabot 10-13-2002 09:37 AM

It must be LoA`s "Who have the biggest booger" lol

WillowIX 10-13-2002 09:38 AM

I have to say the ORT thread or was it ROT ;) lol! That one was hilarious...

Sigmar 10-13-2002 10:36 AM

BUMP

johnny 10-13-2002 10:41 AM

The booger thread. :D

Attalus 10-13-2002 10:45 AM

I voted for Cloudy's, out of loyalty, but my all-time favorite was the "Posts that you wish that you would appera on IW". The original thread, not my pale imitation.)

Moni 10-13-2002 11:11 AM

Not long after I first joined IW Nanobyte made a poll in the W&W forum "Laughing so hard your missing the keys". I remember laughing until I had tears in my eyes at the posts in it.

Here in GD I think I had the most fun in "The Asylum" a Ladyzekke creation I believe...if it wasn't her creation we at least had a blast taking it over LOL.

Marrying LoA was another memorable one (and the "F" thread but hush my mouth LOL). I don't recall having read the booger thread, did I miss out on something?

Last night I had a good laugh doing a poll in the UCP's forum (Mr Mopey's Best Poll Ever...) and a couple of weeks ago there was the Open Arena in the RP Forum...I also recall a Dwarf Throwing Thread and Charlie's Shop of Shite in the BGII Forum that also had me in stitches....basically I think what I am trying to say here is that any of the threads that can make me laugh out loud for reals are my favorites...its too hard to pick just one with so many great forums going on.

Lord of Alcohol 10-13-2002 11:18 AM

LOL Moni the "F" thread(s) were "f"ing hilarious!!!!!!!!

J.J. 10-13-2002 02:39 PM

hmmmm, don't know about sustained funnybones, but my fav will always be moon's hope inn, it was my kind of watering hole, and I had the time to visit often enough to install the dimension door to the Amberbock brewery and the mutant nuclear espresso machine:D

Ar-Cunin 10-13-2002 03:30 PM

It was a close call but the ORT-thread beat the DwarvenThrower

Beaumanoir 10-13-2002 03:35 PM

If Anyone REALLY cares theres a link to the ORT thread In my sig :D
I voted for ORT myself, even though thats kinda cheating Thems were the days!

Iron_Ranger 10-13-2002 03:36 PM

Dwarven Throwers

SomeGuy 10-13-2002 06:19 PM

I don;t think i ever read the DwarvenThrowers thread. Can someone provide a link? I voted Cloudy's because uh um BYE!

Ladyzekke 10-13-2002 07:29 PM

Charlie's Shoppe of Shite :D

DragonMage 10-13-2002 08:39 PM

I went ahead and voted for the original ORT thread because that was so much fun!

But I also really enjoyed Lord Shield's Bar. Also the threads involved with the HADB/Aerie clan conflict! That ended up being one EXCELLENT series with some VERY good role-playing! :D

Unfortunately, I missed out on Charlie's and the Dwarven Throwers. :S

I am afraid that without the search feature that would be almost impossible (unless someone knows its exact location).
We can guess it was posted in Sept. 2001, during the days when onthepequod was a regular here and in the BGII forum. I don't think he started the thread but it was he (and RudeDawg) that brought it to the attention of the GD regulars.

I've glanced through the pages in the BGII SoA forum from Aug 29th through Sept 30 (2001) without seeing it...you know how some of the best threads get "bumped for nostalgia" after a while? Who knows where it is. :(

When and if the search feature ever comes back, be sure to look for it, it is worth a million laughs. :D

If anyone knows where Charlie's Shoppe is, that too is worth a link here. :D

Yorick 10-14-2002 12:07 AM

The "Give Moiraine a Hug" thread.

Yorick 10-14-2002 12:08 AM

The wedding thread WAS pretty funny though. Thanks to the Intoxocomedian

Oh come on. You can't really call it mine. I barely put anything in there worth recognition. Adam mage did a good job in there, lots of people.

Rikard_OHF 10-14-2002 09:03 AM

Jerome's "Evil Smiting"
that made me return to IW back in 2000

Epona 10-14-2002 09:26 AM

I voted Charlies, that was priceless!

Close runners up would be Jerome's Evil Smiting (back when I was a mere lurker) and the infamous F thread, gone but not forgotten.

Rikard_OHF 10-14-2002 09:33 AM

/me sees epona being offline on msn

ehm what F thread?

Grojlach 10-14-2002 10:47 AM

I can't say I've actually read or cared much for any of the "favourites" listed in the poll, to be honest... Oh well. Null vote, I suppose. ;)

Your idea inspired the posts in the thread so its yours. ;) :D
LOTS of people posted in it! Davros, Saz, Wyv, Lily, Dwarf, Thorny me...bunches of other people who participated as the thread got bumped every so often...everyone did a great job of making everyone else chuckle, laugh and sometimes nearly P their pants LOL!

Rikard, I can't believe you missd out on the F thread LOL! Poor Memnoch! It was started with such good intentions!

EDIT: LOL! Thanks for bringing the link to GD! I'm posting it here too :D

Rikard_OHF 10-14-2002 02:41 PM

/me remembers being nahk

ehm...
nevermind

hows he doing anyway? (khan that is)

Moni 10-14-2002 02:46 PM

He's doing great! Thanks for asking! He got laid off of his job managing a database for some communications company so he took a vacation and started his own business building and servicing computers out of the house. Business is picking up and with little competition, he is feeling really good about the future of the biz! He also went to summer school to catch up on some credits and to prepare himself for going with me during the spring semester when we plan on tackling College Algebra together.

He says to tell you Hi. :D

Kaz 10-14-2002 02:52 PM

Can't... decide...
It's somewhere between Father Bronze's explanations, SilverCheetah and Yorick's wedding, and the bunny thread. Ah, I'll vote for the bunnies... that was *hilarious*.

Rikard_OHF 10-14-2002 02:56 PM

Heya Kaz Longtime no see
how are ya?

Keraptisdm 10-14-2002 03:16 PM

In the Baldurs Gate, Tales of the Sword Coast forum, there is a current, funny topic titled "We should love the kobold, not hate him", started by 'I Wish My Name Was Baggins'. It is pretty funny for those with an interest in the orginal Baldurs Gate. :D

Nice one. Whoever said nostalgia ain't what it used to be never read the "F" thread. Truly a classic which, IIRC, horrified our beloved leader when he returned from his nuptials, hence it's disappearance from the official archives

I just spent a lot of time reading it through and at one point KHaN came into my room to see if I was OK, I was laughing so hard. Ladyzekke and Charlie....what a pair LOL! God I miss that man! You, Saz, Memnoch even!...I was literally crying and laughing at the same time after a while.

To think it went on for two days straight too LOL! Unbelievable!

I am so glad I saved that thread! What love there was between us all LOL! It was great.
:D

Being the egocentric person that I am, I'll vote for the brilliant "Link the Crocodile Hunter" thread :D (I must add though, that I heard numerous positive reactions to that one

Besides from that the Bunny thread (I still don't know what made you start that Rikard!!) was hilarious of course. Simply everyone I know was suddenly some kind of Fluffy on MSN Melusine's fault of course, by naming her (what was it again?) rabbit Fluffy ;)
