This stupid fool of a woman had a pet tiger and was hauling it around in a crate on the back of her truck. Her son went to go give it water, it broke loose, and after the owner failed to calm it down, and a vetranarian tried four times to tranquilize it..police had to shoot it, because it was just getting madder and more dangerous. full story. This woman's carelessness could have cost her son's life, or somebody else. Sadly enough...it did get the tiger killed. What do these people think they are doing? I wish the police would charge this lady for the bullets, darts, and police time that it took. I also wish she could be charged with some sort of second-degree murder charge, since it was her recklessness that caused the death of a wonderful animal.

HOW STUPID! A TIGER?! WAS SHE INSANE?! BAH there REALLY are some idiots about these days. no offence to anyone...

Very sad story, what an ignorant woman.

Ar-Cunin 09-29-2002 07:13 PM

Idiots are everywhere

What kind of idiot would keep a tiger as a pet ? Those animals are strong, beautiful animals, and keeping them in a fenced yard or something is highly dangerous; for both the tiger(s) and people. I mean, those things can drag a 500 pound creature around! It's no surprise that it broke out of that wooden crate. Imagine what one could do if it was loose, and then people would blame the animal, not the owner. Jeez.

I object to the word idiot being used so freely. As a village idiot I take pride in my title and..errr hey wait a minute I'm the town drunk not the village idiot! Ummmm nevermind......

Gazza 09-29-2002 08:03 PM

What about those two wierd magicians who have all the white tigers. Wouldn't it be hilarious if they got attacked by them.

Chewbacca 09-29-2002 08:13 PM

To think I stopped at that rest area exactly 24 hours before the cat escaped on my way to a family reunion in Peoria...Hmmmm....

LennonCook 09-29-2002 08:15 PM

Ok, I can see why people would want to have a tiger as a pet, but keeping it in a Wooden Box ?? The animal welfare department should have something to say about that... a tiger should be allowed to run around, in something atleast twice the size of a big dog's run.
If she wasn`t prepared to look after it properly, she should have surrendered it either back to the wild, or to someone who WOULD look after it.

We had a case up here with a snow leopard, and a 20 foot long snake, if I'm not mistaken. Some people are just dim. I mean, it's tough enough for us to control our dang dog.

I saw them when they first performed in Germany... they didn't have a tiger then... Now they have so much money they own a white tiger, unfortunetly, it's so bloody well-trained (or should i say restricted from being it's natural self) that it thinks it's human and tries to ride unicycles and walk upright >_>

As daft as this might be, owning a constricter is as dumb. Something that can break every bone in your body and swallow you whole is something I would not want in my house. The method for feeding these things is so precise that if you were to mess up you'd be dead, of course, it all determines on the situation, and the snake's appetite.

These people must pay... *Grabs compound bow, quiver and plain ticket to Bloomington*
*Realizes that he is still in Seattle with video camera and decides to let the incident go by without any vigilante action*

Sazerac 09-30-2002 03:45 PM

Larry, sadly enough, it happens every day. The place where I do volunteer work, IEFS (International Exotic Feline Sanctuary) is filled with hard-luck cases of big cats that were purchased as pets, then abused, malnourished, or otherwise abandoned because their stupid owners "didn't know how to take care of them."

And these are the lucky ones. They now have a home at IEFS. What of the ones who are never rescued? The ones, locked in an apartment, who rip out the walls trying to get to the plumbing so they can get a drink of water, and die of thirst and malnutrition? The ones found wandering the streets of Houston on their last leg, only to be stoned by cruel children or shot?

Human ignorance is only exceeded by human cruelty. :(

We just need to abolish all the laws that protect stupid people from themselves let nature kill them off and clean up the gene pool. The only problem is they might take out some pretty decent people along the way *sigh*

Bruce The Aussie 09-30-2002 04:14 PM

they should of shot the lady. for two reasons #1. she was an idiot and the human race has enough already & #2. tiger are seriosly indagered, idiots (and other kinds of humans) are not. she was less needed. so lets shoot her now for fun

Well said johnny, ignorant indeed.

Azred 09-30-2002 07:36 PM

Owning exotic pets (lions, tasmanian devils, bears, etc) should be made illegal everywhere, at least for individual people who do not have the resources to care for such animals properly. I know I could never properly care for a tiger.... In a related story, there were 4 lions that had to be shot near Little Rock because they had broken loose and were running wild. *sigh*

Night Stalker 09-30-2002 08:09 PM

Outlaw tigers?!? That's an out rage! It is my contstitutional right .... Oh wait, wrong political arguement .....

Uhh ..........

How can we blame the tiger?!? After all, we humans are encroaching on their natual habitat in ..... Seattle? ...... That can't be right either ....

Does anyone have anything against Hobbes? Let Hobbes roam wild in the fertile minds of 6 yr olds!!
