Moni 09-14-2002 02:33 PM

Well you can find hamburgers and french fries here but we only use hot dogs to fool Zip into taking her meds LOL...only the good kind too, you know, the 67 cents per package "Chicken Franks"
If you really really want some though, I'll boil or fry them for you! ;) :D

Ar-Cunin 09-14-2002 04:20 PM

'Frikadeller' (nearly the national dish of Denmark) and rice.

Attalus 09-14-2002 04:26 PM

I asked God's Gift to the Gastric Juices, and received this reply:
Green Salad
Roasted Pork Tenderloin with Chinese Ginger-Lemon Sauce
Roasted potatoes in their jackets
Brussels Sprouts Cockaigne
Pears poached in red wine

She really goes all out on Saturday night :D

Melusine 09-14-2002 04:33 PM

Had mother and sister over for dinner and cooked them Chicken with artichokes and garlic in white wine, potatoes with thyme and rosemary and a tomato/mozzarella salad.

Burgers are good! :D

I tell you what, I need to make a note at the end of that recipe...."have NO after-dinner-plans if you go for total gluttony because you aren't going anywhere when its over!"

Well, I'm outta here...I still need to finish reading "Death of a Salesman" before Monday and the words "TAKE A NAP!" are ringing through my head like sweet music LOL.

Eggs & Beer! I can just imagine the sounds and smells afterward! ;)

LoA,
That Dinty Moore Chicken & Dumplings isn't bad stuff is it?! Dinty Moore is one of the only meals you can get out of a can that doesn't have tons of artificial crap mixed into it. Of course, the fact that the Beef Stew and Friskies Country Style Dinner for cats have the same smell doesn't make it really appetizing anymore LOL but I'll eat it if I have to...the Dinty Moore Beef Stew that is, not the Friskies cat food! ;)

Saz,
I am not much on oysters but the rest of it sounds great! :D

why do some threads not bump themselves back to the front page or the top of the list sometimes?

Sorcerer Alex 09-16-2002 03:12 AM

I haven't been eating very well since I moved to America - I tend to just eat when hungry as opposed to sticking to three square meals a day. I love Chinese and Italian food, so I'll most likely go for that when supper time comes around tonight. Not terribly good for me, but hey, it tastes great. You only live once, after all :D

It seems this guy has a bit of a problem, only joking. LOL

Grojlach 09-16-2002 08:21 AM

Don't Ask... ;)
That was all that was left of my supper (red beets) after I forgot it for more than 45 minutes on the cooking-range.

Deathcow 09-16-2002 02:38 PM

What IS for supper? I have a grilled ham and cheese stuck in my frying pan...and it won't come out! I don't know how to open it short of using a hammer (its a new pan).

It was on loosely for about 15 seconds, then I heard a sort of popping sound, and it was sealed shut. Can't make it budge at all.

I tried sticking it in the freezer, hoping the metal would get shrinkage and be able to open, but now I have a freezing cold frying pan that's sealed shut.

Someone please help!

Attalus 09-16-2002 02:41 PM

Yeah, float the pan in a sink full of hor water, and put ice on the lid. The differential should break it loose.

Deathcow 09-16-2002 02:51 PM

Thanks, I'm filling the sink now to try it now. Are you speaking from experience?

Deathcow 09-16-2002 03:09 PM

Well, I got frustrated and banged it on the concrete outside, that did the trick :D

I think the bottom expanded from the heat before the top did, and the top expanded at a bad angle and got stuck. Was I supposed to preheat the pan with the top on?

Oh My Goodness! Tell me those aren't flames!

I've charred a grilled cheese before if that makes you feel any better lol...went outside and forgot it was on the stove...not much to scrape off the griddle once I found it through the smoke but forever after the griddle had a clean outline of a slice of bread right in the center! ;)

Deathcow!
I am glad you figured that one out! I would have run it under hot water myself (since freezing would only expand the metal more) but it sounds like your technique worked best.

*note to self*
Do not try this at home! ;)

Well, if you're lucky enough for it to happen I have a few nice marinades and sauces that go really well with different types of steak...

Kormar the Wanderer 09-17-2002 03:59 AM

Actually having a nice chef salad, though for some reason the place I got it from didn't put any hardboiled egg on it...
