Linkin Park, some skatepunk bands (most from the Tony Hawk games).
|
Lately I've been listening to a whole lot of They Might Be Giants, the best band formed during my lifetime (27 yrs). I've also recently purchased old Cake and Radiohead albums, both among my favorites. To round out the top five I would have to say Bob Marley and the Dead Kennedy's. Yeah, I have varied taste.
|
Rap, rock, metal (basically I listen to almost everything). My favourite artists are 2pac, Puffy, Rammstein, and Blind Guardian.
|
Hey, this is the anniversary of Tupak's death. Hmm, I guess thug life isn't that great. Mega, I like the Beatles, the Stones, and the Who, Linda Ronstadt, Bob Dylan, and Randy Newman.
|
For the last 5 months I have been exploring jazz. Besides that my musical tastes are pretty broad. My CD collection is pretty eclectic, country, hip hop, classic rock, classical, alternative, punk, etc...
|
I like Linkon Park, Korn, Blink 182, and some other stuff...
|
I like a wide variety of music. Everything from the crooning of the 50's to todays rock. My favorite group is JOURNEY before, with, and after Steve Perry.
|

I'm going on a blind date, I'm doing my friend a favour, I hope she's not a horror, I'll have to wait and see. Slapping on the Old Spice, Trying hard to look nice, Got my tonic suit on, Hope she fancies me. She got out of the taxi, She was a monster, A total eclipse, Of Sainsbury's. Tattoos on her tattoos, Muscles on her muscles, She looked like the sister, Of Idi Amin. We're going to the pictures, I didn't have any choice, She put her arm around me, Her grip was like a vice. Sshh! Sshh! time. Is that the time, Is it really half past nine? Sorry darling, I'm gonna have to go. I got to get to Wandsworth, I'm meeting Terry Lawless, Tonight I'm sparring with Frank Bruno. She got out of the taxi, She was a monster, A total eclipse, Of Sainsbury's. Tattoos on her tattoos, Muscles on her muscles, She looked like the sister, Of Idi Amin. Geezer she's a monster, She's really not that bad, You must think that I'm joking, You must think I'm mad. I'll never take you word again, You do what you like, Going down the boozer, I'll be there tonight. LOL Epona
I listen to classical, some choice jazz, bluegrass, instrumental guitar and a lot of stuff from the 60's through today; rock & alternative, no rap, no hip-hip, no "country". I liked 10cc Attalus, you do realize what "Tupak" is when spelled backwards? ;) |
Let's see:
Alan Parsons Project Electric Light Orchestra Kansas Styx The Kinks The Beatles The Monkees (guilty pleasure from my youth) The Moody Blues Pink Floyd The Cars Queen J Geils Band 3 Dog Night Vanessa Mae Mark |
I have quite a broad taste in music and like things from most genres (except country, techno, rap). Here's what I'm listening to at the moment.
60s Ska & Skinhead Reggae: Prince Buster, Desmond Dekker, The Ska-talites, Toots & The Maytals, Harry J Allstars, Tony Tribe, Bob & Marcia, Dave & Ansil Collins, The Paragons, The Pioneers, Jimmy Cliff, Lord Tanamo, The Ethiopians, Symarip. 60s Soul & Motown: Aretha Franklin, Bob & Earl, Wilson Pickett, Sam & Dave, Percy Sledge, Darryl Banks, The Olympics, The Parliaments, Eddie Floyd, Diana Ross & The Supremes, The Four Tops, Martha Reeves & The Vandellas, The Foundations, The Promatics, James Brown, Edwin Starr, Dobie Gray (etc. etc. etc. there isn't much from this genre that I don't like) 2-tone Ska: Madness (early stuff), The Specials, The Selecter, Bad Manners etc. etc. Lots of other stuff too, other bands I like include The Kinks, The Small Faces, The Who, The Beatles, The Troggs, Amen Corner, The Spencer Davies Group, Georgie Fame, Manfred Mann and more recent bands such as The Jam, The Clash etc. Some Britpop/Indie such as Pulp, early Oasis (but blimey they got boring), Blur, Ash, Radiohead, that sort of thing. Also like some things that dwell at opposite ends of the spectrum, eg. Simon & Garfunkel, Black Sabbath. Like I said, I like an eclectic mix. But I reckon the last time I liked anything 'current' was during the early '90s Britpop scene. |
I am finally forced to ask. What the hell is ska?
Megabot and Moni- 10cc sucks! "Like walking in the rain and the snow and theres" BANG (LoA falls dead from self-inflicted gunshot wound) [ 09-14-2002, 07:29 AM: Message edited by: Lord of Alcohol ] |

My sister (in KY) thinks Dokken is still a relatively new band LOL. Too bad she's such a b*tch, I'd invite her out here and send her to see Dokken and Ratt live next week LOL. (notice I did not say I'd go with her lol) Spooky, lol Naa, I can take the truth. ;) :D [ 09-14-2002, 12:31 PM: Message edited by: Moni ] |
Skywalker,
ROFLMAO! Thanks for reminding me of the actual songs! I knew they were bad and considered myself lucky that all I remembered were their names. Now I'm going to be sick LOL. |
Dokken a new band? LOL Now thats funny! I bought the first Dokken album when I lived in Yuma in 1983 LOL It must be a Kentucky thing
I'm trying to think of the remake Hall&Oates really wrecked by the Rightoues Brothers...We've lost that loving feeling. Wasnt that them? It sure sucked |
Quote:
Like you, I got my first exposure to them in AZ in the early 80's. Oooo if Hall & Oates did a remake of the Righteous Brothers, I missed it LOL! I'm feeling really lucky right now. ;) |
Quote:
"You've Lost That Loving Feeling" by the Righteous Brothers was much better. BTW Spooky was done by the Classics 4 before The Atlanta Rhythm Section, but both versions were pretty good! ARS did songs called "So Into You" "Imaginary Lovers" and "I'm Not Going To Let It Bother Me Tonight". Mark |
Anyone remember Supertramp?
Good? Bad? I thought they had a few good songs. Mark |
You'd have to give me some titles for Supertramp lol. I can hear the singer's voice but only like one note and I can't "Name That Tune" in one note! ;)
PS Thanks for the additional ARS titles! I knew you would know the original band that did Spooky LOL :D [ 09-14-2002, 02:02 PM: Message edited by: Moni ] |
U2, Nickelback, Creed, The Calling, Michelle Branch, Avril Lavigne, Alanis Morisette, Shania Twain, Faith Hill, Dar Williams, Lori McKenna...
