Security for overseas U.S. locations, specifically in Asia are being placed on Orange Alert...the fourth of five codes...Red Alert being the Most Severe.
Intellegence has reported that planned attacks on civilians and businesses relating to Americans and Jews will be probable.

No word has been proved if any attacks will be made on U.S. territory itself.

The Asian-U.S. Embassy has prepared itself against an attack. The word on the streets is for Americans and Jews to keep low profile and do not leave their homes if they do not have to.

Several Embassies have been closed down for an undetermined amount of time too. Wonder if anything at all will happen.

There will probably be a few fanatics who'll cause difficulty but probably not another attack.

Part of the terrorists plans are to cause this kind of fear without them doing a thing.

Besides, I doubt thay will try a new attack on 9.11, when the security alert is on its highest. If they are going to attack, they going to wait until the vililance dies down.

sigh although they are fanatics they are not that dumb...

although i find it dumb to commit sensless suicidal violence

Azred 09-11-2002 09:38 AM

On the contrary, Ar-Cunin, terrorists would be more willing to strike on the anniversary, just to get the extra emotional "slap in the face" that such an attack would bring. Recall that McVeigh bombed the Murrah building on the anniversary of the Mt. Carmel fire in Waco.

I hate thinking of things like that, but we must all face reality. *sigh*

Well it's nearly the 12th here now. Been an unevenful day thank God.
I spent most of it walking around Sydney city. There were many people with T-Shirts like 'I Love New York' or U.S. flags etc...
As I looked up at the buildings I wondered what it would be like if it happened here in my own city...
Thankfully there's been no trouble that I know of.

Nope, Geography 101, China is in Asia. Perhaps your confusing it with South East Asia, of which China does not belong to. Anyway over here in Singapore security is pretty tight. The Police and National Guard patrol the airports, the American Embassy, American Club and American School. So all's pretty safe here.

Rimjaw, its just as well that they have airpoirt security. They confiscated my shaving scissors the last time I was at Changi (like I'm going to poke the eyes out of a pilot..) but otherwise I'm glad we havent had any more close calls like way back last year when they arrested the people who were planning to bomb a Singaporean location. Maybe we should just impose mandatory checks and quarantines on Arabs.. I dont know..

I'm flying back tonight, so hopefully nothing too eventful happens, let alone on the flight I'm flying on, God forbid. At very least it'll take up valuable time, at worst..
Bah, stupid talk from a nervous person..
