They are basically "ranks" and your avatar will change with the amount of posts you rack up...no spamming to get another one though!

Yeah, spamming for ranks is strictly forbidden by Father Ziroc. I like my current one, BTW. ;)

I am wondering if johnny's is one of those surprise avatars mentioned.
Mine just showed up today LOL...yesterday it was one of the Egyptian avatars.

That'd be a cool Avatar, definitely an appropriate one too! The more I look at BronzoMan the more bizarre he seems, dunno maybe it's just me. What is that under his chin? Can't be some huge helmet... He's already got some thingy on his forehead. Is he trapped in a BRONZE head cage do you think? Maybe rats have been put in it and that is what he is so frighteningly looking at? NO! Not the nose not the Nose!!!!!!

I notice that sometimes people here at IW with roughly the same number of posts can actually have different avatars. (This occurs only after 1,000 posts.) How come? What else determines the avatar besides post count?

I remember when my avatar was the 'Magister' -- you know, the ugly bald face with black veins or something like that (I think you get it when your post count is 100 ~ 150). At that time I gave myself this sig: 'Please do not associate me with that face to the left -- I honestly happen to be much better-looking.' :D I think I'll change my sig to that again once I get that 'Apophis' avatar.

Those would be the surprise avatars Z mentions in the Rules and Regulations, most likely. I don't know what determines them.

I agree with Ladyzekke too...that stunned look would best suit a newbie LOL

My theory is that, once you pass a certain point, Z just gives you whatever avatar he thinks will surprise and/or irritate you. Remember the stone golem? So, LadyZ, if yours and these others are just the highest that Z goes, you just gotta wait until he dreams up a new one. I'll just bet that he is following this thread, and he and Choc are laughing their ...er...selves silly. ;)
