My momma cat, Seven, still somewhat "wild" in a milder sense of the word (definitely not tame!), just jumped up onto my desk and rubbed her face against mine when watching the memorial video for the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon made me cry.
She has only shown me that kind of love twice in the year she has been living in our house, the other time is when I was filling out Melusine's "Gettin To Know Each Other" thread and was thinking of things that made me feel good :D .

She continued to set beside me and rub her face against mine until I pulled myself together as if just to assure me not all love is lost.

Indeed, it is not.

Like if she knew. Sometimes cats amaze me.

I love cats. They're cool, and they seem to know when you're feeling down. Unfortunately, mine mistakes me for a scratching post when I'm sleeping.

Just check out this cat (cheetah) !

I don't like them. As cute as they can be, there is no doubt that they are wayward and that is what I hate.
See my cats thread.

I believe they can sense how we are feeling. When my dad died, Seven's son Tiger layed beside me and put his paw on my shoulder when I was crying myself to sleep. He mewed and when I looked at him he just sent me the most intsnse feeling of love from one for another that I have ever felt from an animal.

My Siamese mix, Boo, seemed to know that I was going to have a heart attack before I did too (I didn't know i was going to have one until it hit me lol, I just knew I had been having headaches the week prior to where I had once had a concussion). I definitely pay more attention to how he acts around me now.

None of my kitties use me as a scratching post while I am sleeping. Since I rasied most of them up from kittens, they have had their own places to scratch. They do use my ankles as pillows though lol. :D

debiler,
I remember your thread and the morning that made you so miserable.
Have things with that particular wild one been going OK since then?
Rex uses a water pistol on an unruly cat we own (William). It keeps him in check whenever he is considering being his bad bad self and I think the watergun is breaking him of his bad behaviour. He's a good cat otherwise.

Cats seem to sense alot but comparing my dog to a cat my dog plays more and seems to comfort me more.

My dog, Beethoven is, um... how can I put it... dopey. Yeah. I mean, he acts so silly! He's supposed to be a bird dog, but when we go partridge hunting he always runs off in the woods, doing anything but looking for birds, but he always comes back. At home, when we let him outside, he runs up the driveway and we have to drive up and down the road searching for him. Lol. He usually wipes his dirty butt on our clean carpet too.

One of my cats, Tigger, is orange. Very orange. He has white stripes too, and golden brown paws. He likes to climb up onto the screen door. He uses me as a scratching post while I'm asleep, and catches so many moles that I haven't seen any lately, besides dead ones. There used to be a large infestation. :D

Another one of my cats, Sophie, is very old. She sleeps behind the TV, sleeps behind the couch, and sleeps under my bed. :D She used to be all sorts of colors, but now she is mostly gray.

All of your pets sound like real sweeties.
[img]graemlins/ladyhearts.gif[/img]
Thanks for sharing those peeks into their lives.

(I have a "dopey" dog too, "Code" but I think she is more like just retarded. She has a blank brainless look in her eyes more often than not LOL)

<font color="silver">I love cats. We had two cats when I was little. Little Girl, and Bruiser. Both used to lay up on a beam that crossed over from a indoor balcony over part of our first floor. I don't know how they didn't fall.

They also slept behind our china thats set up above our cupboards. Both kinda got crazy from the catnip garden out back. They also could run (Literally) right up a corner of the house to a small balcony with a sliding glass door, to try and get into the house.

Little Girl used to eat those kitty treats. If you put some into your hand she would reach out with a paw and grab one. Bruiser was supposed to go to the vets, and somehow knew it when my dad tried to grab him. My dad ended up in the hospital with blood poising.

Bruiser was a big gray cat, who fit his name perfectly. Little Girl was a calico, who's name also seemed to apply. But, when I was still young, Little Girl went blind and got sick. Its sad. My dad has several Twenty-Twos..... :(

Bruiser was Little Girl's son, and he dissapeared. Over a year later he showed up agian. Sadly his eyes where white and clouded.... his fur was more white then gray, and got into bad health days later......

L.G. was 16, and Bruiser was 15.

About the same year that I got my dog, my mom found a stray kitten wandering by the house. The kitten looked about ready to die, with a fly-grub-thingy implanted in her neck. Well, we took her to the vet, and now she is our only cat, Jasmine. Jasmine is another calico, and has some of the same characteristics as L.G.. She sleeps on the beam, and can go up the corner of the house, and she gets high on catnip. (what cat dosent?)

The thing is, maybe her neck injury was tramatic, cause she isn't playful. She was when she was a kitten, but she is LAZY. I've never seen such a lazy cat. She gets indignat when you stop petting her and claws you! And when you ARE petting her, she drools. But it dosn't matter. I like that cat, just like the others.

[img]graemlins/ladyhearts.gif[/img] Call me sentamental. I don't care. [img]graemlins/ladyhearts.gif[/img]

Well, now that I'm sure your all asleep from that boring speech, I'm gonna conclude my post.

Sir Mandorallen,
Well, Litte Girl and Bruiser both got to live fairly long lives! :D
My dad raised two kittens on eye droppers after their mother wouldn't feed them.
One lived to be 12 and the other 15. They both lived in the woods near our house and would come to see my dad every summer. "Jim" & "Joe". The last time we saw Joe (the oldest one) he was cralwing, crippled with arthritis and white where he had once been tabby. I guess he just wanted to say goodbye. :(

I had a black cat that would climb up the stucco (like spider man or something) on the outside of my building to get onto my second floor balcony LOL. I had never seen a cat climb like that. :D

We have cats who could rival Jasmine's laziness LOL! E.V. hangs over the back of my computer chair like he's a panther on a tree limb. Stays there for hours.
Bubba only gets up to go outside & use the bathroom or eat...otherwise, he is firmly planted on Grandpa's lap or on his bed lol.

Mr Snuggles drools too but the only one who gets mean if you stop petting him is Boo...well, Sweety Pie will bite your nose or your chin LOL but that's his way of "kissing up for more attention"...he doesn't bite hard.

Speaking of kissing LOL...Boo hates the smell of cigarettes and will only give me kisses (nose to nose) after I have showered and brushed my teeth. If I have had a smoke and then ask him for a kiss, he does this really dramatic flop like it killed him to be asked. Its too funny LOL I need to get that on film some day. :D

OK my turn to quit LOL

LoA, you're just wrong LOL

Have a good night LoA...I need to get to bed, otherwise I'll have to be getting ready for school the next time I look at the clock! ;)
