Today I discovered one thing about cats:

I HATE THEM!!!

It happened this morning at about 4.00 a.m., when I was delivering my newspapers. Out of nowhere, a cat jumped me , screaming like a dying baby! It makes no sense! Why do cats feel it when they can scare the sh** out of you? Knowing that it could happen again every instant, it took me half an hour longer to finish work today, because I looked carefully behind every corner if one of those b******s is waiting for me, making me soak my clothes with sweat even more. When you're alone in the dark, having to walk past the cemetary, there are more comfortable thoughts I can imagine. They kinda like it when they have some power over you, don't they? As cute as they might be, cats can be the nastiest, scariest beings on earth.

Tomorrow it starts again.

...yay...

..welcome back Debiler

Actually the only animals I'm scared of are rabbits...seriously I just can't trust them. Ever since ?I picked one up and it bit me while making a large growling noise I haven't been able to go near them.

Snakes I'm ok, spiders too and lizards, but I can't stnd those damn rabbits.

The trick with cats like that is to stare them straight in the eyes and make slow movements away from the cat in question. If it attacks go into a fetal position and it will QUICKLY grow bored of you. Besides cat's are cute ;)

My cats are little angels.

I got a cat and I must admit she is not to be trusted, Give her credit she always warns you before she strikes lol. My last cat was almost human, you could do anything with her and she would never strike at you. I don't like snakes and spiders.

What creeps me out is when I pick up a lizard and it's tail falls off in my hand. Then I drop the lizard but the tail is still wriggling around my fingers. I can't stand that.

But cats I can deal with. I usually get along with them well enough that they don't scratch. Dogs too.

I also think cats originate from the 9th plane plane of hell.
Hey, doggy is my style...eew, that didn't come out right. :D

Reminds me of a song from the 1970's:

"Spiders And Snakes"

(As recorded by Jim Stafford)
JIM STAFFORD
DAVID BELLAMY

I remember when Mary Lou said she wanted to walk me home from school
Well I said yes I do
She said I don't have to go right home
And I would kinda like to be alone some if you would
I said me too
And so we took a stroll and wound up down by the swimming hole
And she said do what you want to do
Got silly and found a frog in the water by the hollow log
And I shook it at her and I said this frog's for you, she said

I don't like spiders and snakes
And that ain't what it takes to love me
Like I wanna be loved by you
I don't like spiders and snakes
And that ain't what it takes to love me
Like I wanna be loved by you

Well I took out that girl from time to time, I called her up when I got a dime
I said hello baby, she said ain't you cool
Said do you remember when, and would you like to get together again
She said I'll see you after school
I was so shy and so for awhile most of my love was touch and smile
So she said come on over here, I was nervous I guess
Still looking for something to slip down her dress
And she said let's make it perfectly clear

I don't like spiders and snakes
And that ain't what it takes to love me
Like I wanna be loved by you
I don't like spiders and snakes
And that ain't what it takes to love me
Like I wanna be loved by you

Spiders make me a bit nervous, too. I can watch them when they're sitting still. But as soon as they move, it's over!

I like cats, especially on white bread with some mayonaise. :D

It's about 2 1/2 hours until I have to face her again and I'm not looking forward to that ;)

Moni 09-04-2002 07:25 PM

Take a flashlight...keep the light in her face. She can't hit you if she's blinded and I'd bet she never does it again! :D

debiler 09-04-2002 07:28 PM

Heheh! This seems to develop into a kittie torturing thread.

---where's Lioness?---
:D :D :D

Moni 09-04-2002 07:35 PM

LOL I wouldn't torture any kitty but i do know their weaknesses (light in the eyes to a light sensitive animal can't be good) and I've owned an evil one or two myself...the kind that fly at you out of nowhere, claws extended, teeth ready and yowling to raise the dead...its their own evil brand of playing.
The ten I have now are precious babes, each and every one of them. The worst I have to worry about is the Siamese-mix biting my arm when I have him in my lap and am not giving him the attention he demands.

Animal 09-04-2002 09:57 PM

Can't agree with you more. Cat's are selfish, self serving little a***oles. My dogs know "Get the kitty!" real well. Can't say I see too many cats in my yard anymore!

Jeffi0 09-04-2002 10:24 PM

A watergun would work well too. Or even better, a pressure washer.

I like most animals, but not the above one. When I was little and some kids sicked their dog on one of our kittens, my dad (who claims to dislike cats) ran into the house to get his pistol and jumped in the truck to look for the dog (or maybe the kids). My 3 are darlings, unless you asked the local dogs, and I have physically attacked those that get their kicks on hurting animals.

They're so possessive. On the other hand, there is nothing sweeter than a satisfied, purring cat sleeping on your belly. Cats are just weird.
-a dog looks for your company, because he likes you-
-a cat does too, but she only likes the warmth-

BTW, I made it!
No cat incidents this morning.

Pangur Ban 09-05-2002 03:54 AM

Lets face it, some people just aren't lucky enough to blessed by sharing their life with a cat.

Personally I love cats. The only reason I don't have one is because it wouldn't be fair on my birds.

But I am catsitting (2 cats) for a friend next week! Really looking forward to it, although one of them did bite me last time we came into contact - my mate failed to tell me that said cat didn't like to be stroked on his chest. Now cats love me, and always make a beeline for my lap, of course I enjoyed stroking him and feeling him purr until I got to his chest, next thing I know I have teeth clamped around my hand! He only did it as a warning though, didn't even break the skin.

Dogs are disgusting smelly drooling creatures.

Possessive and selfish, yes.
My cats all give me the most adorable kinds of attention when they want something for themselves.
I am glad you made your route safely this morning!

Cloudbringer 09-05-2002 07:19 AM

my forced me to reply here. ;) Cats are wonderful companion animals and can be trained with patience and perseverance. Failing that, the human learns how to behave around them. :D

Not once have my dogs ever caught a cat, because I won't let them, but they sure run them out of my yard fast. I take offence to any animal coming into my garden and using my flower beds as their own personal washrooms, but I have no desire to see any animals intentionally harmed whether by a dog or by a pistol.

Kaltia 09-06-2002 12:58 PM

I WUV CATS! *ahem* I have two, and they are only dangerous when the fat one is hungry!
I HATE tarantulas. they are the only things I hate. I have two pet snakes and three lizards, but...tarantulas? ICK!!!!!!!

Vaprakgruumsh 09-07-2002 01:53 PM

Have 3 cats myself. Two twins (who, looking at them you wouldn't believe they were twins except their color scheme) and one orange one - who many of us believe is actually cross bred with a Tiger or something... because he's a monster, but simply one of the greatest things in my life (right along with my wife!) :D

And the three of them are simply insane with one another. It's like having a movie constantly play in front of you! :D

The Ornery One 09-07-2002 05:14 PM

Animal - I seriously think he was going to go scare the kids into not doing that again. Just because you don't let the dog attack, that doesn't mean it wouldn't think it's alright to attack if no one stops it. I've had a cat that died from shock and internal injuries from jumping off a ladder to get away from dogs. Also, a stray cat was attacked and killed in my parents garage by 2 dogs recently. It is not funny to joke about harming an animal.

I agree . My dog was attacked by a german shepherd who just went for her with no provocation at all, and she was lucky to survive. The owner of the german shepherd had no idea that her dog would attack; I think it's so irresponsible to actually teach your dog to go for things. However well you train them they're still unpredictable. Fortunately my baby kitty Tuppence will never have problems like that because she lives inside.

Redblueflare 09-07-2002 07:23 PM

I like cats, but there are three evil cats that live right outisde my grandma's house. Sure they look nice at first but just don't try to pet them or show them any sort of affection. Expect retaliation if you do... Mean old cat.
