Only about 75 or so until we have 10,000 members here. It doesn't matter how many are active it's the principle. 10,000 members, when I started off here in Ironworks I tnever thought I would see the day. What are your views?

johnny 08-02-2002 12:55 PM

Number 10000 should get a reward. :D Or at least a big group hug :D

Sir Goulum 08-02-2002 01:31 PM

Wooooo! 10 000 members!!!!!!! I remember when I joined it was only at 6000 someodd. That was in February!!!!!

Attalus 08-02-2002 01:43 PM

I'm member# 4919 or something. That still makes me a newbie next to Mel or Epona or some of the others.

Plus, my connection speed will get f***ed up more often

Lioness 08-02-2002 07:07 PM

Andrew Mcveigh 08-03-2002 12:57 AM

i'm too lazy to see what member i am, but i joined yesterday... so i'd say i'm probably member 9920 or something. *shrugs*

Andrew Mcveigh 08-03-2002 12:58 AM

K, I CHECKED. 9963 is my number, man i'm new.

Lifetime 08-03-2002 09:13 AM

Wow.. from the days of the Blue Board till now I never thought we'd grow this big. I remember celebrating 4k, 5k, 6k.. and every time there'd always be someone saying "wait till you get to 10k, then you'll know what unmanagable means"
Its the big one indeed! Most boards with this many members end up in anarchy. Its a testament to our tireless Ziroc and his Mods that we're still functioning!
Three Cheers to the Mods, Ziroc, and all of Ironworks for making it such a popular place on the web!

Oh yeah.. member #176
just for bragging rights Okay, now Saz is gonna bust a cap in my ass for bringing up the whole member number thing again..

Grimslade 08-03-2002 10:25 AM

I don't want to put a dampner on things, but I think it does matter how many members are active and how many are not.

Congratulations are in order, yes certainly, but what's the use of celebrating 10,000 members if a percentage of them are non-active cadavers?

Nothing personal guys, just my opinion, that's all.

Dundee Slaytern 08-03-2002 10:53 AM

Even if the vast majority of them are inactive, we can still use their dead accounts as pinatas to celebrate the coming of the 10,000th member. Here's hoping for a nice guy/gal.

Melusine 08-03-2002 10:56 AM

Well Grimslade, I absolutely agree that a lot of the accounts are probably inactive. I think it's a symbolic celebration more than anything else, maybe you should look at it that way.

SomeGuy 08-03-2002 12:08 PM

We should throw a big party when we reach 10k!There could be cake and ice cream and stake!

Madman-Rogovich 08-03-2002 12:51 PM

AzRaeL StoRmBlaDe 08-03-2002 03:41 PM

Spade 08-03-2002 06:28 PM

I reckon it shows that 10,000 odd people (few less for joint accounts ;) ) have chosen to come to IW to be part of the forum, for however long that may be. Says something good about IW I think ;)

Hi Spade

Lord Shield 08-03-2002 06:40 PM

ALCOHOL!!!! how can you have a party without ALCOHOL!!!!

andrewas 08-03-2002 06:47 PM

Not to throw a damper on anyones party plans, but the registered members count on the main page reads 9053. Thats the count I usualy go by. When i bother at all. Not that I mind having a party for both counts...

*lays in a stock of beer and munchies*

OH, and SomeGuy? Just what do you plan to do with those stakes at this party? I dont think we have any vampire members, and they woudnt appreciate it if we did.

Grimslade 08-04-2002 10:10 AM

Let's not talk about stakes...I haven't got over the Neo Vampire thread yet
