.....where would you live?

Any city of the world, any environment.

Could be in the clouds, beneath the sea, the island of Saikhlin, Yemen, Fiji, London, a volcano, wherever.

It could be a known castle like Windsor, a Bel Air mansion or something of your own choosing. Could be a simple Berber tent, a Mongolian Yurt or a Balinese hut. Perhaps a caravan in Colombia.

Where would you live, if you could liv anywhere in the world?

Downunda 08-01-2002 03:57 AM

I wouldn't mind a cross between Ibiza and Mt Whistler.

LennonCook 08-01-2002 03:59 AM

Suldanessala. :D

Spelca 08-01-2002 04:09 AM

Hmm... I'd like to live somewhere like Bohinj (in Slovenia). It's a nice valley with a lake that's surrounded by mountains. It's really nice there. I just wish it would be closer to a bigger town... though then it probably wouldn't be as nice.

Cerek the Barbaric 08-01-2002 04:21 AM

I would live right where I do now....in my small hometown where I know most of my neighbors and where my children grow up in a relatively "safe" environment.

I also like that we live less than a 10 minute drive to either set of grandparents the boys wish to see...and we visit them several times each week.

So I'll stay in the little town where I grew up and raise my own children here.

Like Dorothy said, There's no place like home!

Jorath Calar 08-01-2002 04:22 AM

Buenos Aires Argentina... I know it's not the greatest country at the moment but my friend lives there and I like her very much...

Orion 08-01-2002 04:25 AM

Hmm...If I could buy my own tropical island I think I would live there out of any countries jurisdiction. I would be the island hermit hehe....well not really I would bring my girl and daughter along as well. Ah if it were all just that simple.

Lady Blue03 08-01-2002 04:31 AM

I'd live in Australia, nur! :D

The Seven Heavens or Twin paradises (refer to AD&D: Manual of the Planes).

I would dearly love to live in Singapore. I lived there for 3 years many years ago & thoroughly enjoyed it.

An enchanting city with excelent food !!!!

skywalker 08-01-2002 06:28 AM

In a lighthouse, off the coast of Maine.

Sir Taliesin 08-01-2002 07:02 AM

Right were I live now! I'm with Cerek. Great post. Said it all for me! Of course, I'd like to have the money to visit all of those other places! Spelca, that sounds like a beautiful place! Skywalker, the lighthouse sounds like a neat idea too. When I finally kick all the kids out of the house (I'll be 62) and buy my Harley, I might come and visit you! We can set and discuss politics and drink beer!

Deathbringer 08-01-2002 07:18 AM

Well to be honest, the place where I live at the moment is fantastic, and I don't feel like leaving for a very long time if not at all. It's the best life. So quiet and peaceful, that is until I have a party ;) . I live on the farm land but near enough to the city (Adelaide). So I'm happy where I am. :D

Earthdog 08-01-2002 07:21 AM

I would move 7,000 miles to be with my wife. Id move to Australia

Ooops already have :D

If we could move anywhere Id like us to live in either Texas, Tennessee, or Brahn Canada (beautiful) or somewhere in Ontario near North Bay.

As long as Im with my wife I dont really care where we are.

Lifetime 08-01-2002 07:26 AM

I'd live in Singapore with winter and cold weather
There really is no place like home. Leaving home has just made me realise that with a little more clarity.

Neb 08-01-2002 07:26 AM

Northern England, that'd make me happy However if I could live whereever I wanted and bring someone along with me to live there I'd choose a nice mountainous place, somewhere with lots of nature, but which isn't too far from civilization.

Yes and yes! I am quite happy with my current set-up and have no desire to live anywhere else. For the moment that is. :D

johnny 08-01-2002 08:26 AM

I'm perfectly happy where i am today, and wouldn't want to trade with any other city in the world, with the exeption of the town i was born in.

K T Ong 08-01-2002 10:15 AM

Singapore would actually be a nice place to live if (1)the climate were cooler (see Lifetime's post above ;) ), and (2)the people as a whole were more cultured and refined.

Earth has not anything to show more fair:
Dull would he be of soul who could pass by
A sight so touching in its majesty:
The City now doth, like a garment, wear
The beauty of the morning; silent, bare,
Ships, towers, domes, theatres, and temples lie
Open unto the fields, and to the sky;
All bright and glittering in the smokeless air.

Wordsworth, William (1770 - 1850)

When a man is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford.

Johnson, Samuel

“I had been in London innumerable times, and yet till that day I had never noticed one of the worst things about London--the fact that it costs money even to sit down.”

--George Orwell, Down and Out in Paris and London

I shall ne'er tire of London, coz London has it all,
The greatest club in all the world, the famous Arsenal!

I used to hate living in London, but for some reason it grew on me once I became single (for a brief period of time LOL) and now I love it. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else but here. It's the centre of my life, my friends are here, loads of things to do. It would be impossible to get bored.

So my choice is London.

Listen to Vaughan Williams' A London Symphony, Epona. I believe you'll love it. ;)

Probably around the Byron Bay Hinterland, northern NSW Australia, on a large property with beach, forest and hills all in it. A big 'comfortable' house - big spacious rooms, fireplaces, furniture you can put your feet up on, etc... Room to have lots of pets, A recording studio, plenty of room for friends to come and stay... Thats it, I'd be set

That question is exactly how I ended up here in the Pacific Northwest... Krip asked if I could live anywhere, where would that be? So here we are and I LOVE it here! Beautiful landscapes, perfect weather, no mosquitos (here it is August and I've yet to have even one bite! ), wonderful people ... I still hope and plan to travel to see the rest of the world, but this is a great place to be based out of!

Glad to hear you've settled Bili! Woodinville - great name!

Animal 08-02-2002 01:03 PM

Right were I am, the west coast of BC. We have it all here, a true paradise; mountains, the great blue Pacific, some of the best ski mountains in the world, a great climate. I've lived in many different places and this is the best by far!

Waldie 08-02-2002 07:45 PM

were I live now, In Sweden, There is no place better

Yorick 08-03-2002 05:55 PM

You know I don't know the answer to that question. That's why I love travel at the moment. Everywhere I go I try to envisage living there and ask the question - the majority of times feeling a 'yes I think I could live here' answer coming back.
