I am always interested in stuff like this. Be aware, though, that this is most definitly not a scientific test; for real results try a testing center or a psychologist. The results are probably +/- 10 points of your real score, though.
The test may be found here. I don't mind putting my score up for public perusal. Quote:
Anyway, the link is there, in case you are interested. If your score is high enough, you might consider taking either the SAT or GRE and joining one of the many high-IQ socities. |
I did this test a while ago...I think I got 162 or 148...can't remember which one...I sent away for a Mensa test a while go...but I've still to do it...

Mine was lower than on others I have taken as well, maybe I've gotten dumber.

I've already gotten from 112 to 168 IQ on too many online tests to try that one

Congratulations, Joshua!
Your IQ score is 120 This number is the result of a formula based on how many questions you answered correctly on Emode's Ultimate IQ test. The even better news is that at Emode, we've taken your IQ test one step further. During the test, you answered four different types of questions — mathematical, visual-spatial, linguistic and logical. We were able to analyze how you did on each set of those questions, which allows us to shed light on the way your brain uniquely functions. At the same time, we compared your answers with others who have taken the test, and according to the sorts of questions you got correct, we can tell your Intellectual Type is an Insightful Linguist. The first thing we can tell you about that is you have the natural fluency of a writer and the visual and spatial strengths of an artist. Those skills contribute to your creative and expressive mind. But that's just scratching the surface. That is cool. Oh well, hopefully, after I learn some more when I start college, I will get a better IQ lol. But that is true about the linguist/ writer things. I have an extremally large vocabulary. My Senior english teacher said that I had the best vocab he has ever seen in someone my age, in front of the class. Freaked me out. |
Heh heh thats the first IQ test I've ever done, just out of curiosity does anyone know what the average IQ is surposed to be?

these tests are kind of bull... they are made so that people get high scores and then pay to get the results sent to them acknowledging them how intelligent they are. the proof is that im a complete dumbass and i got 157. :D
my dad made me take one in argentinas society for gifted children when i was like 12 or 13 (why all parents think their boys are more intelligent than others?). i did quite good and could actually qualify to enter but it wasnt so out of the ordinary. my younger brother lucas was almost off the charts, though. he is the only person i know that has tought himself how to program in all major languages. and he did it in less than 3 months... on a whim. |
I wonder how much you get sent for giving these people your e-mail address, when you take the test? :D

Here we go, a mediocre score of 133. ;)

Intellectual Type is a Precision Processor.
The first thing we can tell you about that is you've got a very experiential way of learning and a strong mathematical mind. IQ is a bit lower than I thought... but it's still average |
Yes, it is all for fun, as I said earlier. Not only is test not scientific, but they are a business out to generate a list of contacts and make some money. That said, never buy any of their products (I never do) and just give them a fake address like Dundee Slaytern did.
Norompanlasolas is correct--online IQ tests are skewed to give results that are positive, or at least not negative, to the test-takers. Who's going to buy your stuff when you tell them they are mentally challenged? If you are really interested in this information, find a testing center. |

SomeGuy, how old are you? That does make a difference in testing intelligence. Also, your areas of academic interest can sometimes skew results; for example, I have a degree in Math, so any math-based question is a correct answer for me.
Never worry or concern yourself with scores. Just always do your best. |

I got 129 (Visual Mathematician), but I got 175 on another one online...Don't think either are right, when I was 7 (had to put 13, it was the lowest they had) I got around 140 on a *real* IQ test, so I go by that.

I ask you all what is the next number in these series: 1,2,3,..... and 1,4,9,..... mind you that my notation is very sloppy. As it would be in most IQ tests (or at least those that I have seen). DeSoya |
133 here.
I'm a visual mathematician somehow, and aparently: "60% of Visual Mathematicians wait for the other person to make the first move on a date." How the bloody hell did they work out this statistic? |
First off, i think Online IQ tests are bull, so fake. Secondly, it said i was too young, under 13, then i tried a fake age, still said i was to young.
|
Hmm it said im a visionary philosopher :S
I got 136, i think its fine for me (english questions surely took my score down :D ). Anyway i dont think this test really measures anybody´s intelligence, yet is fun BTW what was the correct answer for "he likes 400 but not 300, 100 but not 99 and 2500 but not 2400". i dont get it :$ |
The idiot likes perfect squares Ertai even though i havent done that test
|
LOL now it seems so obvious... damn i feel so ashamed i didnt get it, ive always considered myself good with numbers :(

So you are pursuing a degree in math, eh? I don't know if you have already done so and I don't know if you will, but I (and probably many others) reached a point (not surprisingly, about the time it comes to attempt to settle on a career) where I thought, "My God, what can I possibly do with a math degree?! Teach? Statistical Analysis? Cryptology? Actuary?" It seemed like a really short list until I realized that a math degree teaches you how to solve problems; not just when two trains meet or how to find the solution set for a group of related differential equations, but any type of problem. This is why math problems are so prevalent in many tests of intelligence. Let me know how things go for you, DeSoya. SecretMaster, yes, online IQ tests are completely unscientific and are, at best, a vague glimpse at a measure of your true ability. The well-established "IQ Societies" such as Mensa, Intertel, IQuadrivium, etc. accept, as a prerequisite for admisison, scores from tests such as California Test of Mental Maturity, Stanford-Binet, Army/Navy Classification Tests, Miller Analogies, the GRE, and either the Wechsler Adult or Wechsler Children (a psychiatrist I once knew--not as a patient --told me that Wechsler is still considered by many to be the standard). If you are really interested in a reasonably good assessment of your mental acuity, then take one of these tests; a brief internet search for these tests or testing centers in your area should produce acceptable results. Now for the caveat: IQ alone is meaningless; it is by no means a measure of personal worth. I have known many "smart" people who are ill-mannered, bad-tempered, sloppy, lazy, or some combination of those less-than-desirable traits. Jim, a Visual Mathematician probably wrote this test after another failed date when he waited on her to make the first move.... |
Sorry about not responding sooner. Web access has been spotty and my friends keep dragging me out to go drinking. Damn them. Can't they see I'd rather be at home painting miniatures? :D I'm not particularly worried about what I do with a math degree. I just want a degree and math seemed to be the thing. Initially I wanted to be a physicist. I looooove physics. So damn cool. Unfortunatly I have/had trouble connecting the math concepts with the physics math. Weird. Don't ask. I don't understand it myself. A math proof, however, is something I can understand. I figured if worse comes to worst I can always go back to grad school to get a physics degree. It's mostly math anyway when you get to quantum... Sadly it's the physics that sent me to the math. I took so much math to do the physics that I started enjoying it. :( :D Calculus is my favorite. I often postulate, much to the derision of my friends, that calculus is quite possibly the greatest thing that man has ever done for itself. What do you think of the theory of multiple intelligences? I find it to be pretty intriguing. I think that there are multiple memories as well. I didn't think about that until you mentioned the spatial reasoning bit. I'm not sure where that fit into that emode IQ test. Care to explain? DeSoya P.S. I'm working on learning some Abstract Algebra right now in preparation for this semesters course in it. I'm also taking Intro to Topology. In essence, I'm not very far along. IQ 120, i`m a Precision Processor

I took it. Over-all, I'd say that was a pretty weak IQ test. I took it 6AM in the morning, with a back in spasm and a supreme lack-of-willingness or interest to figure out perfect squares or anything else that required thinking and still came up 136. So I can say, that when I absolutely don't give a crap to process beyond a superficial level I have a 136 IQ.
Also, I felt the reporting was meaningless. IQ scores, such as "112" or "148," require context for relevence. I could design an IQ test where everyone was a "genius" by giving everyone 150 points to start... IMO, what matters in IQ testing is your standard deviation(s) above/below the mean, converted to a percentile, based on the bell curve of that test. That wasn't reported. If you're 4.3333 standard deviations above the mean, that puts you in the 99.9996th or so percentile. It wouldn't matter if your "IQ" was 110 or 220. Of course, if your a masochist you could take "MEGA" where if you answer 1 question on the test, your IQ is 100. But that's a damn hard test. |
I began my university career as a chemist until I realized that I was really good at math, so I added it as a second major. When it came to the physics classes, though, I was much better at Newtonian physics and quantum mechanics than electricity/magnetism.
Topology will most likely throw you for a loop at first; it is completely unlike any other math you've probably taken before. At least, I admit that it threw me for a loop for a while. Draconis Rex, yes the Mega test is hard, as are its follow-ups Ultra, Power, and Titan. These were attempts to create tests that are normed at a higher level than standard tests; the idea was that a higher-norm test will be more accurate for those who have a greater degree of mental acuity. Many well-established societies don't recognize the Mega test, though. There is an almost soap-opera-like history about the interactions between people in the really exclusive societies. That is a nice way of saying that some of them acted like bratty children, sulking off into the corner to form their own groups.... |
I got 124. Not too bad I guess.
