I just realized that we've never done a survey of our community, to find out where we're all from and who we all are. Hopefully the results will help us understand each other better and help us interact more effectively. Just short and sweet.

Memnoch 07-16-2002 01:17 PM

If people want to remain anonymous, that's fine - I'll bump this up for a few days. I'm really curious to see how it turns out.

MagiK 07-16-2002 01:19 PM

Good poll, will be interested in seeing the final results

Horatio 07-16-2002 01:20 PM

Hi, just voted, what will this be used for Memnoch?

Sazerac 07-16-2002 01:21 PM

Actually, I did one of these back in January, Memnoch, but it's high time we had another one! :D

Well, for nothing really, other than to maybe help us all understand where everyone comes from and that we're a truly global community.

Aside from the fact that I'm just really curious as to where we're all from - I see some amazing locations in people's posts. :D

Beaumanoir 07-16-2002 01:22 PM

Even If It's Not Used, It's Nice To See What Range Of People Come Here, I Think It's A Good Idea And I'm Gonna Check Back Here To See The Results!

Morgan_Corbesant 07-16-2002 01:26 PM

Cerek the Barbaric 07-16-2002 02:54 PM

Good idea, Memnoch.

But it won't help very much unless the members list thier info in thier posts.

I mean it's really interesting to know that we have 51 males and 30 North Americans (just made those numbers up),but that doesn't mean diddly unless we know WHICH males are North American.

So, in the interest of full disclosure......

I am a 39yr old, mono-language male from North America.

johnny 07-16-2002 03:46 PM

I'm a 36 year YOUNG Dutch speaking moron from Europe, and i also speak a little Klingon. And yes, i voted ! :D

Grojlach 07-16-2002 04:00 PM

21 year old Dutch male who is able to conversate in 4 languages if I bother to a quick refreshment course on my German and French, as it has been years since I had to use those languages. ;)

DiabloRex 07-16-2002 04:02 PM

Interesting the high jump of concentration that their is with the 16-20 and 36-40 year old. Very few inbetween.

Talthyr Malkaviel 07-16-2002 04:04 PM

And now... contestant B: Talthyr.
16-20 year old male from a small town near Bristol, in rainy old England, who's primary language is English and speaks more than 2 others. (with a little brushing up in order though )

SecretMaster 07-16-2002 04:23 PM

Wow, didn't realize there were a lot of teens n some kids on IW. Now i don't feel alone.

Ar-Cunin 07-16-2002 05:04 PM

31-35 year old male from Europe - speaks 2+ langauges - english being the 2nd.

Kakero 07-16-2002 10:34 PM

Aussie, Male, 15.

Rimjaw 07-16-2002 11:09 PM

whacky 07-16-2002 11:28 PM

East Coast eh? I am from Pasir Ris. Are you in a Polytechnic? I am going to be 20 this year, and am currently in my third year at Temasek Polytechnic, Computer Engineering.

I think there are more Asians than South Americans in here, but I could be wrong. ;)

Dundee Slaytern 07-17-2002 01:13 AM

Arrrr... me deductions were correct. We be more than them South Americans, and the Africans as well.

Heh... if only there were more Asians on the webcomic forums I go to... there are more people from Israel than Asia!

Males vastly outnumber females, no big surprise there, but I was expecting more than 10 females?

With my vote, the group of 16-20 has tied with the 36-40. We be the majority!

Monolinguism and English rule!

DeSoya 07-17-2002 01:14 AM

The age and gender spreads remind me of parties that I go to. Lots of guys between ages 20-25 and 30-35 and a couple of girls. :D Okay... So the age difference isn't exact. But still.

Ooooh... I'm male from North America. I've aged 23 years but people say I look 18 when I've shaved and act like a crotchy 40 year old. I speak English fluently and German poorly. I suppose I could mention my brief knowledge of Klingon but that would be copying Johnny and we would want that. :D

DeSoya

Calaethis Dragonsbane 07-17-2002 03:15 AM

I meant the TP bus-stop. ;) I take 15 to Pasir Ris, which means we take our buses on the same side when we go home. I have long completed my SIP in my 2nd year, which is when us CEN students do ours.

Right now, we are doing our FYP and three subjects. Oh, and some minister is coming over on Friday to observe my class just because CEN is the only diploma in TP to be fully PBL-based, and our CP jusssst had to nominate our class... ...

Bahamut 07-17-2002 09:59 AM
