Okay, I Know That Really This Shoudln't Be In GD, But If I Put It In One Of The Game Catagories, Then Not Many People Will See It, And Will Probabaly Be Biast To The Game That That Forum Is On, If The Mods Want It In A Game Forum, Feel Free To Move It

I Was Recently Thinking Of Buying One Of These Games, But I Wanted To Ask You Guys For An Opinion!!!

LastStandingWish 07-15-2002 04:08 PM

WarCraft III...Game is mega core.

Zarr 07-15-2002 04:53 PM

I think you should buy Neverwinter Nights. Strange as I haven't actually played it yet but I'll buy it when I have the money and if it's as good as the Baldur's Gate series it'll be great. If you have a playstation 2 you should also buy Final Fantasy X which I recently bought and is great but only if you don't mind sitting through long cutscenes!

Willard 07-15-2002 06:49 PM

I recommend NWN. Too bad it doesn't work on my computer, but I'm sure it will on yours.

johnny 07-15-2002 07:19 PM

Well, does it have to be a RPG ?

Willard 07-15-2002 07:43 PM

How about......
Oregon Trail 5th Edition? (not)

But really, you just have to get Tellitubby Explorer.

No, seriously now, get Carnivores:Ice Age. It's cool, you get to hunt prehistoric animals in extreme conditions and you get to swim, run, get trampled, drown, get stabbed, get your heart plucked out by a giant prehistoric bird, get maimed by a mountain lion, etc. Family Fun and a good hunting experience, all in one!

uss 07-15-2002 07:52 PM

Hmm, you should have said which RPGs have you played :D .
I have NwN but i. don`t. really. like. it.(that was too much to put in one sentence :D )
But buy Warcraft III! That`s an awesome game!

Willard 07-15-2002 07:52 PM

Cool, I'll do that, johnny!

Aelia Jusa 07-15-2002 08:36 PM

It depends what sort of game you want. Also whether will need to upgrade your computer to run any of these games or not; if you do then you should factor that in, for example I think your system requirements for Wizardry 8 are less than for Morrowind or NWN. They're all quite different games - if you want a game you can play multi with, then Wizardry 8 is not for you, be better to get NWN. However W8 is good if you want something a little different (eg rules, characters) than D&D.

Madman-Rogovich 07-15-2002 08:48 PM

i went for nwn im still in love with that game!

Dundee Slaytern 07-16-2002 07:05 AM

Given the four default choices, definitely NWN. However, I voted Others because of...

WC III I recommend :D

Lifetime 07-16-2002 07:40 AM

Warcraft III is the bomb! Good fun for the whole family From what I've seen, NWN is a little on the bland side, but features amazing gameplay.
Oh and as Zarr said, get Final Fantasy X(thats assuming you have a PS2)! I thought the previous two were touching, but this one blows the roof. Amazing storyline, sky-high production values..and the most touching story you'll ever experience!

He probably already has FFX. Believe it or not, Binky is actually modding a FF-forum.

Now, I suggest you buy NWN. Incredible game, which will keep you busy for months, making your own worlds and campaigns, and finishing them.

Beaumanoir 07-16-2002 01:14 PM

Hm, I Want An RPG Really, But If Another Game Is Good Then I'll Get That. NWN Seems To be Winning, And With That I Get The Option Of Importing My BG 1 & 2 Mage Don't I? I Could Play All Three Through With One Character :D
Warcraft 3 Seems Popular, I'm Just Looking At The Type Of Game It Is Now, Don't Know Much About It, I Think I'll Look Into NWN, Unless Warcraft Is Alot Cheaper ;) (I'm A Bit Stingy With Money )

NWN is a great game but you cannot import BG characters at all.

Beaumanoir 07-16-2002 01:31 PM

Really? I'm, Sure It Said That You Could On The Little Hint Screens On BG2, Oh Well...

Is Warcraft III A Sort Of 'Command And Conquer' Game, Like The Ummmm... 'Command And Conquer' Series?

You mean you have not played any of the Blizzard RTS games? Woah... ...

Like C&C, it is a RTS game at heart, but with RPG elements. The game revolves around a hero that you build( and whom can level up to a maximum of level 10, gaining abilities and stats), and support with units. It is not about hoarding, but large guerilla strikes.

I love this game! ^.^

SecretMaster 07-17-2002 12:49 AM

Hey, I say get Morrowind. Its an insanely detailed game, very fun, and best of all, you do whatever the hell you want. You really don't have to beat the game, and if you wanted, you could choose not to fight anyone! Its really good, and like i said, very detailed. You can make your own potions with Ingredients, find Indredients in the wild, (like pearls from clams, or mushrooms from outside). Make your own enchanted weapons n armor, different weapons n armor types (like dwemer/dwarven, ebony, steel, Iron etc). A really good game. It also comes with a toolset where you can make your own races, classes, birthsigns, areas, etc.

Rimjaw 07-17-2002 12:51 AM

Yep, Warcraft II is definately no C&C clone, I wouldn't go so far as to consider it guerilla warfare, just standard RTS combat on a smaller scale, although I do not mean that negatively. Zooming in the camera in the heat of a battle is simply breathtaking. The use of heroes also chanes the gameplay dramatically. In multiplayer while it is possible to play without a hero, once an opponent fields a high-level hero with his attacking force, you're effectively doomed. Warcraft III all the way!

EDIT: I must warn you that the story and plot is rather lame.
