Haer'Dalis is repulsive, sick to the core. Yeah, he's cute. Yeah, he could do things with that tail... mmm. Yeah, he has a nice voice. Yeah, his hair is BLUE.

The problem is, he is a freaky, soulless SoB. Just look at the way he treats Aerie, using her for sex, then patronizingly telling her "Of course I love you--until we break up, as we inevitably will." His Doomguarder nonsense and fatalistic outlook are creepy past all words and attempts to describe them. Ever notice how his death sound is... to put it indelicately... a sound very much like one might hear in the throes of orgasm? He is all flowery B.S. with no heart and no warmth underneath all that blithering trashy 'charm', if you can call it that.

It might be nice to see a romance that tries to deal with the hideous aspects of such a cold and frightening character to find the person beneath, but don't be blinded by Haer'Dalis's poetry. He is nothing short of a horrific psycho; he's just subtle about it. I'm sorry for being so rantish about this... but he just plain ~scares~ me, to be honest! *shudders* Some people think him a stupid, irritating character (understandable to me, although not quite accurate IMO), and some women (to my disbelief) think him wonderful... but I find him to be the kind of psychotic head case seldom seen, empty eyes glittering with the darkest evils, set in a smiling face. A fiend indeed.

Yeah, I hate Sinkers, too ("Stinkers", I call them). Buch of idiots. Not quite as bad as the Takers, mind you. Or the Dustmen. Now those guys *are* creepy.

I like Haer'Dalis. I know he's a creep, but...it makes him interesting. He's the kind of character that intrigues you. ;) Personal opinion, I guess. :D

I did his quest, then I found him at the Inn upstairs later in chap 2. So I went to ask him to join and he gave me this huffy pissy attitude. So I re-asked him to join, got him in, took his swords than everyone jumped him..he tried to cast when He popeded..

I sold his precious gem, yes I did, hehehe, that'll teach the monkey hahahahaa

I cast Imprisonment on him. A raven, am I? Mwahaha!

Well, he has demonic blood in him, what do you expect? ;)

Personally, I've only used him once, and then only briefly. The Blade kit isn't very strong unless you want a rather inferior fighter. I would have preferred a Skald for the increased bardsong. His spellcasting is no picnic, either. Oh, well..I *have* heard that he does get better if you get to ToB with him, though.
