Hmm, About 2 years ago, i was Limp Bizkits and KoRns fan. Those were freaky times. i kept listening to the same songs over and over again. Then over a long period of time, i kept falling away from them till i didn`t listen to them at all. After that, when Wes Borland left, i was pretty sad. I don`t like Limp Bizkit anymore and i hate Fred Durst. Though i still rarely listen to some of their older and better songs. Watch the video of Limp Bizkit - Rollin´. If you look closely, you can see that Fred Durst is always on the screen. He also directs the videos and poses. Always poses on the screen.
One question: Why do you think Wes Borland left?

oh, and another reason is that i was in that bulls**t "Whats popular is cool!" period.

Nice to know that the age of Limp Bizkit is gone. They can`t possibly do any good music with a "new and unknown" guitarist.

The Hierophant 07-04-2002 08:34 AM

You're into a spot of the old Queens of the Stoneage eh uss? Damn fine band o' musicians. Do you get into Kyuss (QotSA members Josh Homme, Nick Oliveri and Alfredo Hernandez's former band), most certainly su-perb sh*t.
I never really got into Limp Bizkit personally, but when I was but a wee lad of all but 14 I used to be a big Korn fan. In terms of my personal opinion though I think Korn are definately a band that one gets past very quickly once one grows out of their pubescant, f**k-the-world phase (not to say that I've outgrown that at age 20 ).

Anyways, have a good one. Oh, and do you have any idea when the new QotSA album is due out? They've been postponing it for ages. Dave Grohl is playing on it! He's a big fan of their's supposedly. Should make for good listening.

Well I also like System of a Down and Rammstein, my fav band is Grinspoon though.

I prefer my music a little bit more hardcore than that weak stuff but if you want my true opinion i think that he was a controll freak and the rest of his group booted the guy out for taking too much of himself into everyone esle's account, the majority won and the single minority was simply rejected like a poorly grafted peice of flesh...

I believe Borland said in an interview that being in Limp Bizkit to "selling your soul to the devil." So there. Of course, I personally feel that as long as one has an operational frontal lobe and a functional auditory system, it should be plainly obvious that Limp Bizkit’s music sucks. Their melodies are awful and simplistic, and the music is sporadically well-performed, as guitarist Wes Boreland (who as we said, has now left) and, to a lesser degree, DJ Lethal, are both talented and creative at what they do. If you're into the stuff from their first album, thats perfectly fine, but don't get too attached.

Loumistro 07-04-2002 07:24 PM

I hate Limp Bizkit and ALWAYS have and ALWAYS will. But my brother likes them and was always talking about that. I saw on MTV news that it was because he said he had sold out. I think it also mentioned he joined another band. I can't confirm that tough.

Madman-Rogovich 07-06-2002 11:21 AM

Wes Borland isnt really in another band so to speak more of a solo project its hes called it ''Big Dumb Face'' and i dont give a damn what anyone thinks cos it is really very good as well as very funny beats the hell out of Limp Bizkit

artist : Big Dumb Face Song: Mighty Penis Laser , Burning blood red heads of fire are notable good ones its also kinda cool that hes done mot of it himself

SecretMaster 07-06-2002 11:32 AM

Limp Bizkit isn't that bad. I still like em but whatever. System is the greatest band nowadays, and Pink Floyd was the best back in the 1980's!!! I must say Tool is pretty damn good, same with P.O.D.

Madman-Rogovich 07-06-2002 11:45 AM

Pink Floyd.... what about the 60's and 70's infac id say the 80's was their weakest period..

-vixen 07-06-2002 04:37 PM

I dont like limpy bizkit

I love classical music (Mozart), (buldurs gate song called "Superior battle")

I love industrial, techno, and underground. (robin fox, Faithless, ATB, dj venom, rotterdam terror corps)

The Hunter of Jahanna 07-06-2002 06:01 PM

I have to agree with Vixen. Industrial rocks and Limp Noodle, KoRap,and System of a Dunce are just poseing untill the music industry tells everyone who the next cool band is. The whole rap/rock fusion thing was played out in the 80's by Anthrax and Public Enemy. If you want hard core check out some Skinny Puppy, Cubanate or Suicide Commando.

Well, actually I'll agree with the first two, but System of a down are certainly not rap, or nu-metal, or any thing like that, they never rap, and that's the supposedly popular thing at the moment.
Also they were around before they industry sauid they were cool, so wouldn't it make more sense to say that they've stayed the same, and the fashionable people are posing? ;)

If you like The Final Cut, then it was some of their best. I like the album, it's serious, dark, and meaningful. Their 70s stuff was their best, particularly the 71 Meddle.

Bahamut 07-06-2002 08:57 PM

I like Limp Bizkit, I like Fred Durst... I don't care about Wes... all I care about are the bassist and Drummer...

Try putting Tom Morello there since Rage Against The Machine is gone anyway.. and now Limp can go to hardcore to alternative and to almost everything!!! :D

Loumistro 07-06-2002 09:28 PM

I still say that the Limp Bizkit SUCKS AND ALWAYS WILL.

I would agree. And I am only 15. the 70's was the best I think.

SecretMaster 07-06-2002 09:56 PM

Yeah, 60's and 70's. But i think The Wall was the best of the best. I researched them, n they rock. Wish You Were Here was a great album, and Money is the greatest song.

-vixen 07-07-2002 12:04 AM

i dont like rap music...

and the reason why is cuz in my University i have these white ass dorks walking around and talking like they were trying to be one of the guys that sang "bitch bang" or somthing..

I mean why are kids growing up so retarded these days... maybe its because they are listening to tupac and thinking its cool to go shoot someone.

ITS CALLED PROPAGANDA!

..i like to listen to music that has meaning in my life... not about some music that has nothing to do what is going on with my reality.

people just dont seem to know the importance of what music really is... music is meaning... life .....devotion... and love. Music isnt suppost to be taken lierally because it is an art... and it shouldnt be sold ....it should be heared.

I dont listen to music I HEAR what it is about...

i wish i waS BORN IN THE 60'S WERE THERE WAS PEACE AND LOVE!

not just because of the pot but because people were so differnt back then. They were so peaceful.. at least they were trying to be... these days it seems people have become so cold... and only worry about themselvfs...

thats my 2cents anyways

Heh, that's a great opinion you've got there. But that's all it is darlin' Don't be too quick to throw stones. Music can be and mean whatever people want it to.

Oh, and I hate nagging and bitching, but maybe you've got an overly romanticized view of the 60s
-Vietnam
-Cambodia
-Cuban Missile Crisis
etc etc.

Sure some smelly folk that loved hugs and cuddles managed to organize a few rock concerts, but that still happens nowadays. Nostalgia's fine, but it's better to live into now and make do with what we have.

Downunda 07-07-2002 12:27 AM

I like Limp Bizkit
I like Korn
I like Music
I like Po... uh, anyway

I like a huge variety of music from Ska to Punk to Rap to Trance (listening to Paul Oakenfield atm :D ) to Techno to Rock and back again. I'm definately not fond of pop or music that is marketed solely for the masses but I'm not gonna diss ne1 that does like it, if that's what they're into, good on 'em

Downunda 07-07-2002 12:31 AM

As far as 80s music goes, Dire Straits Brothers in Arms would have to be my fav :D

Hierophant i wasn't talking about the war in the 60's I was talking about the civilians and music of the 1960's... the people that were fighting... were fighting a cold war.. the people at home were people protesting peace and love. My perants were hippy in the 60's, and they still are.... guess they never got out of the 60's :D

I don't talk about the government, or war in any timeline... becuase there is war all the time... there was war in the 20's 30's 40's 50's 60's 70's 80's 90's ... war is everywere ... and i am not talking about war ... becuase if you think about it there is no peace in any year.

I'm talking about culture... not military or war... whos needs war.

I think you have misunderstood my opinion......

Bahamut 07-07-2002 11:29 PM

It's indeed a horrible thought, but then Ii was just trying to make a point:

Wes Borland is worth jack sh*t without the make-uo SO

I think Limp can be a better band.. waaaaays better

-vixen 07-07-2002 11:46 PM

SLAYER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Orion 07-08-2002 12:23 AM

Limp Bizkit has to be the biggest group of sellouts that there has ever been. I had their first cd when it first came out. I thought it was great. Their musci took a dramatic change for the wors after that, so yes they suck. System of Down is good, Mudvayne, Slipknot, and who could ever forget Nirvana and all the things they did for music. (Death of the hair bands) Not much worth listening to came out of the 80's.

Madman-Rogovich 07-08-2002 10:43 AM

vixen this isnt a slayer thread
but i dont think its fair to call wes borland useless as the work on big dumb face is really inventive

Loumistro 07-08-2002 05:24 PM

I like the newer bands the Most.

Puddle Of Mudd they are the best. I may hate Fred Durst but at least he did one good thing to this world. He brought Puddle of Mudd together.

And Linkin Park now they are the Shitznit. And same with Alein Ant Farm.

Actually, that's exactly the worst thing Fred Durst ever did, expose the horrible mediocrity and unoriginality that is called Puddle of Mudd to the world...

As for Limp Bizkit: talking from a purely neutral musical perspective, they have their good and bad songs. There are many worse bands in this so called "nu metal" genre, but since it's "cool" to hate Limp Bizkit, they get most of the criticism... And, granted, they turned their music into a marketing product, you'll get no argument from me over that. But that goes for most of the bands people have mentioned in this thread as "their really cool favourite nu metal band!", and ironically enough, they just don't want to see that. ;)

But is music really about the marketing? Just like the music for what it is, make a judgement based on the music itself, and try not to talk from the "cool" image you're trying to take. If you don't like the music, that's fine. Just try and explain why, with arguments based on the music. Not purely based on the "fact" that Durst is a sell-out or similar. And a statement like "it sucks" without any explanation is saying more about you than it does about Limp Bizkit.

When I was a Bizkit fan, I joined the Limp Bizkit email news thingy. Since i read my mail rarely, i have yet to "unjoin" it. anyway, for the last 6 months, ALL of the emails contain stuff about Puddle Of Mudd! I know they`re advertising it but that is just redicolous!!
