Has anybody tried a dual class Kensai/Monk?
Do the bonuses from the Kensai add on to the unarmed combat skills of the Monk? It doesn't specify in any of the descriptions that the bonuses only apply to swords... What about a Paladin/Monk? Realistically, you only gain 18(xx) strength but wow, those would be some kick ass punches |
(Bad breathing) ShadowPup... i am your father (/Bad breathing)
Kool name, never thought i would see that. Anyway welcome and hope you enjoy your stay. |
99% certain you can't dual class into our out of the Monk class.
Same with sorceror. |

wouldnt it be wierd to multiclass a mage sorcerer? you could learn from scrolls AND per level.. man, you would be one strong guy.
|
After I completed TOB, I tried making a monk with a kit Kensai.. but it didnt work sadly.
|
bummers...but thanks guys!
hmmm...maybe I should try an Archer/Cleric instead... |
Multi class a mage-assassin-cavalier and give him/her the 90+ sword.
|
Archer/Cleric=major suckage. Clerics can't use bows.
|
What?!
I thought I would be able to use my bow... You don't get a transfer of weapon use when you dual class? I figured if a Kensai/Mage (mages can't use swords) can use a sword and cast spells then an Archer/Cleric could shoot arrows... Thanks for the help. Crap... |

1. humans cannot multi class only dual class. and only humans can be Paladins 2. You cannot have kits on a multiclass character (unless you are a gnome in which case you can be an illusionist) 3. Paladins cannot be dual classed if you want to be paladin you have to be just paladin. Other none relevent points 4. You can only get the sword of death through cheating and cheatings for chumps 5. I need to get a life, I just realised I know all these usless rules off by heart and it makes me feel really sad lol. |

don't forget that when mages dual class and get to use spells they still can't wear armor and cast, and you can't use thief skills in heavy armor regardless of other classes being added (rangers get screwed out of their stealth ability because of this, more so in bg1, when good light armor for a ranger was nonexistant, or stolen from drizzt), same for clerics, regardless of the original class if you dual to or from a cleric you cannot use edged weapons, and an archer specialised in slings wouldn't be that great.... hmmm, on the other hand... *scurries off to try it before my wife can kick me off the puter*
|
If your cleric was more of a support healing/ranged attack character, then an Archer/Cleric would be pretty cool.
Dual class at level 9 +3 to hit +3 damage Grand Master in sling +2 to hit +3 damage Sling of Seeking +2 to hit +2 damage 18 Dex +3 to hit 18(00) Strength +6 damage (Sling of Seeking gives Str bonus) Nice total of +10 to hit +14 damage at 2? attacks per round... Not bad for a Cleric... |
Actually, Archers can only put 2 stars in Sling. They can put 5 in Longbow/Shortbow/Crossbow, 2 into all other ranged weapons, and 1 in all other weapons. So an Archer->Cleric would be stuck with 2 stars in Sling, but their kit bonuses might still apply.....you'd have to try it to be sure.
