Donut 06-26-2002 06:59 PM

And so it came to pass!

To the four corners of the earth, carried by the winds, driving through the rain the call went.

Come, come all and we shall form a gathering to surpass all previous gatherings.

From the land down under the one named Davros answered the call. I’ll be there! Get the Fosters ready.

From the Northern lands the Wolf raised his head sniffed the air and made a noise like a Swedish wolf makes. (Insert Swedish wolf sound here.)

In the dark northern extremity of a small island off of the coast of Europe a Mouse got quite excitable. ‘I’m coming too’ he squeeked.

Across the sea from that island the quiet Melusine caught the whispers on the wind. ‘Come, come all, come to the gathering.’

The exiled bard, now resident in a town that was so good they named it twice picked up his instrument and prepared to come! ‘I’ll not miss this chance.’

And still others answered the summons. In darkest Hackney, near the centre of London Epona prepared to leave the job she loves so much to make the trek to the gathering.

From the Shire of Cambridge in England the knight known as Sir Tainly was certainly going to the gathering.

Finally the mountain moved and the Donut made his announcement. ‘Oh, all right then, I’ll be there!’

And she who called, has promised wine, beer and food, there will be a great Barbecue and there will be much playing of Dungeons and Dragons, and there will be quizzes and sightseeing and sunshine and a great time will be had by all. We will create a new user name in the great tradition of IW meetings with a name so long it will be, er!, long. And we shall take piccies for Stealthy’s site.

So in 16 days we travel to she who called us, the gnome named Moiraine, and when we meet, the Fellowship of the Nine shall be complete!

dizzy 06-26-2002 07:09 PM

koolness. Just to break the nine I will go and make ten and ruin all of your plans lol j/k.

Melusine 06-27-2002 03:41 AM

I love it, Donut!
See you there! ;)

WOLFGIR 06-27-2002 03:56 AM

Volguuz RageWaar 06-27-2002 04:03 AM

I there some nine towers in your story??? :D :D :D :D

Davros 06-27-2002 04:23 AM

Yeah, get that FOSTERS ready, I have a shovel, and maybe I can dig a hole from which it can never escape. Then we need to seal it with concrete - tons and tons of the stuff, so it never sees the light of day again :D .

K T Ong 06-27-2002 04:57 AM

Meanwhile, on a tropical island, K T Ong sat in an ornate pavillion by the sea, sipping freshly brewed jasmine tea and contemplating the full moon above the silver-crested waves.

Epona 06-27-2002 05:24 AM

Can't wait, although I will of course miss my job terribly (not)

Kakero 06-27-2002 05:36 AM

gee..some people can have all the fun.

Mouse 06-27-2002 06:25 AM

And lo, it came to pass that the wise old rodent made plans to forsake his northern fastness for the verdant realm of the Coffiers.

The minions heard of his avowed intent to bring the newly purchased "Digital Camera of Doom" and they were sore afraid.......

Sir_Tainly 06-27-2002 07:39 AM

Oh no! I've been outed!

WOLFGIR 06-27-2002 08:09 AM

The northern wolf thought "bugger" and packs a big plastic bag, not one of paper, but o nice fine plastic, since his friends His Lordship of alcohol bevarages had pointed out itīs vast superiority of the plastic ones over the paper...

Donut 06-28-2002 07:49 PM

It has been suggested that my original post has been a bit subtitle for some people so I'd like to make it clear that in two weeks time nine members of Ironworks will meet for over one week at Moiraine's home near Grenoble where we'll have a great time.

/)eathKiller 06-28-2002 08:16 PM

to those who feel left out, I'll be in Florida in a few days...

er... nah... that's a horrible place to meet...

*Wishes he could go too*

Epona 06-29-2002 06:18 AM

Mmmm, Donut and his subtitles.

Cloudbringer 06-29-2002 09:19 AM

LOL! Great post Donut!

Moiraine, I'm sorry I couldn't be there, but with my sweetheart arriving here this week, it just wasn't feasible.... but in the future.. BWHAHAHAHAHA! We do plan to visit you someday, that much I can say for sure! :D

I hope you HAVE A GREAT TIME, all of you...even that weird one who's burying beer in your garden, Claude!

Yorick 07-05-2002 01:01 AM

Seven more days.....

Yorick 07-05-2002 01:04 AM

In seven days, I'll be on a huge white winged bird, soaring across the bed of atlantis, heading t'wards the land of the Franks and Gauls for a rendezvous with fellow workers of Iron.

Davros could you make sure you bring some vegemite mate?

LOL Last time I saw you, you advised me to never get closer to that stuff than 100 miles !

EDIT : Oh, and Lanesra, can't you come too ? That would certainly add spice to the party ! (If your Mum allows it, that is ... http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...ons/icon16.gif)

</font>
Yes but you're French. You love sweet jams for breakfast. Vegemite is not a sweet jam. ;)

Davros, can you bring some vegemite. :D

WOLFGIR 07-05-2002 02:16 PM

Whats a vegemite???

Does it include stuff only allowed in two countries where France is not included??

Ah, but I'm an adventurous one, always willing to try new stuff.

I'll try vegemite ! I'll try vegemite ! *bounce* http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...ons/icon16.gif

Wolfie, as Yorick told me once, vegemite is black stuff that Aussies have for breakfast, and that any non-Aussie finds tasting awful ... ;)

Epona 07-05-2002 06:51 PM

We have Vegemite here in the UK too - but MARMITE is better!!!!
Want me to bring some? No probs exporting a jar, it's got no animal/dairy products.

Davros 07-05-2002 06:59 PM

I was intending on bringing some Yorick, provided the customs officials don't confiscate it on me - I hear a rumour that they are all vegemite lovers who can't get enough of the stuff :D .

Mouse 07-05-2002 07:00 PM

I was going to trump you all by threatening to arrive with a haggis or two, but unfortunately, I don't think I can transport one unless I have a refrigerated bag (which I don't) . So it looks like my contribution will be restricted to Glenfiddich Solera Reserve.... :D

/)eathKiller 07-05-2002 08:43 PM

johnny 07-05-2002 09:47 PM

Epona, doesn't that make it some kind of stu ? And i take it the whole thing goes in the oven, right ?
