The second one is great!

RoSs_bg2_rox 08-23-2004 01:07 PM

I love them all, but I must say the second post is my favourite! Beautiful, stunning! Where did you take that one?

My dad used to be a very good photographer, taking lots of picutres such as yours, he had all the gear, but then one day on a project he dropped his camera, and kinda lost confidence because it had to be away getting repaired for a while and he just kinda got out of it. But now, years later he has got himself a very nice 5mega pixel digi cam which he has used for a couple of years, and has taken lots of brilliant pictures with.

Good luck to you LK, and please post more!

LordKathen 08-23-2004 01:17 PM

Thanks RoSs! I took that picture in Columbia Park, about a mile from my apt. That is Columbia river.

Timber Loftis 08-23-2004 01:28 PM

I took the second post and saved that picture for future use as wallpaper -- so it can't be all that bad. Good stuff.

LordKathen 08-23-2004 01:56 PM

Thanks alot Timber.

I am working on the sizes. I think I firgured it out. :D

dplax 08-23-2004 02:03 PM

I liked most the one with the sunset. Great pictures! Keep up the good work.

LordKathen 08-23-2004 02:27 PM

Well, the sunset has shutout the rest in popularity. That is cool, as it is one of my favorites.
But, I was wondering what some opinions are on the others. I am contemplating a coffee table type book that is based on trees and the maze of life that the limbs create. The last one I posted is my favorite one of this style I have takin. I have many, this is just a small collection.
What do you think of my vision?

Stormymystic 08-23-2004 02:56 PM

I am not sure which one I like the best, but have it narrowed down to 2 of the tree ones being my faves, and then the sunset of course, but the black and white is awesome :D and then the last one you posted is great too ;)

Xen 08-23-2004 04:42 PM

IMO they are all great.

Felix The Assassin 08-23-2004 09:04 PM

Enough already, your making me homesick there LordK!
How about I send you some sand, and you can send me some Steelhead?

Excellent pictures by the way. How about one of the flying boat at the park?

Lauren 08-23-2004 09:18 PM

I really like the third picture you posted up... but it would of been good if it had a bit of colour in it instead of it being to grayscale.

The rest of your pictures were really good too especially the 4th one.

Bungleau 08-23-2004 10:28 PM

I really like the sunset, like everyone else. I like the black and white as well; something about that style of photography just raises the class of the subject a notch or two.

I'm not a big fan of still life paintings, so the first tree and the close-up leaf don't do much for me. I like the second tree, though; I think that since it's isolated more, it seems almost human, reaching for the sky. The first tree felt more like a branch maze to me.

I really, really like the lone fir gazing out at the mountain. It's like it's trying to take a stand against the mountain, since they're the same height (at least, in the picture).

Nice stuff, LK!

Spirits forever 08-23-2004 11:53 PM

OMG, I like the third one, it's great!!!

SpongeBobTheDestoyer 08-24-2004 03:49 AM

Those are all eye catchers. My favorite is number 3. Number 1 would have looked better if the sky was dark and gloomy IMHO, kinda like a creepy haunted forest with a full moon in the background. Good work though, keep following your dream.

Spirits forever 08-24-2004 09:14 AM

#3 the third pic, even though it's black and white...well especially since it's black and white, i love them, they're classic! :D

Har'oloth 08-24-2004 09:16 AM

they are very nice but i prefer black an white photo's!
keep up the good work!!!!

Nightwing 08-24-2004 11:03 AM

Number 3 and 5 both remind me of Duck hunting. I feel like I'm right there. They creat good emotion. I like to see trees with roots I think how they merge with the ground says a lot about their strength. Thanks for sharing, send more.

LordKathen 08-24-2004 11:45 AM

Ok, I restructured the thread so it is more organised. Some of the replies are not going to be correct now, I am sorry.
I should have done this in the first place, I know, but this will make identification for comments easier down the road. I also did'nt expect this much response, and I do really apreciate it guys!

LordKathen 08-24-2004 11:47 AM

Oh ya, I also added a few, and will be adding more sporadically. :D

I think # 1 & 2 is wery nice LK, good pictures all of them anyway!

Attalus 08-24-2004 06:15 PM

I like them all, LorK, especially #2. If Timber likes them, you can be sure that they're good.

Stormymystic 08-24-2004 07:27 PM

oh and LK, if you like trees, you should see the ones here by my home, the are strange, might post a pic or 2 of them ;) they are very old, and you can tell they grew while there was still a large forest here...the limbs grow in a strange way, can not explain it :/

Bungleau 08-24-2004 11:52 PM

Ya reorganized and ya took out my wallpaper!!! I'm looking for the blue sky with the tree on the right...

I know... I could just get it off the other computer, but that's so much work

LordKathen 08-25-2004 12:46 AM

Ok. I think this method would be better, what do you think? Its probly better for Ziroc two.

Bungleau, it is back. Sorry. Please be patient with me... ;)

Thanks, LK. I got it. And believe you me, I'm plenty patient

LordKathen 08-25-2004 04:41 AM

Cool! I hope you all are patient with me. :D

Thoran 08-25-2004 02:01 PM

They all look great LK... I think there are three that I think are stand outs, but it looks like you had to chop them down to get them over the net... that's too bad because I'd like to see full-res versions (IMG13.jpg, A1small.jpg, HPIM0592.jpg)

LordKathen 08-25-2004 02:13 PM

No chopping, just resized. What you see is what I took. :D
Thank you BTW.

I took the clouds one just the other day out my front door. I saw the sky and had to snap it. I love the contrast between the colors.

I would be honored to have photos on your desk top! Please, no need to ask, go right ahead.

RoSs_bg2_rox 08-25-2004 05:27 PM

Thank you. It beats the pic of me up in the mountains of Switzerland anyday. I dont have to look at myself everyday anymore. :D
