Hello all... i started playing SoA after 6 months and boy did i miss it [img]smile.gif[/img] ! anyways, just say i created a fighter and put ++ in two handed swords. after a few levels i dual-classed to a thief because of their use any item ability. so when i get the use any item ability would those ++ in two handed swords be of any use???
i mean, because i dual classed to a thief would my ++ in two handed swords disappear??? i really wanna use the Holy Avenger and have theif abilities!

PS: You can only get the Use Any Item ability if you have ToB installed.

Once your level in thief surpasses your level in fighter, you will regain those proficiency slots. Once you do that, you can have fun with that sweet holy avenger. I wish I thought about that when i did my thief hehe [img]tongue.gif[/img]

Do not forget you need the Use Any Item ability as well, since Carsomyr is supposed to be a Paladin-only weapon.

you can only use the Use Any Item ablility in ToB, right? well, isnt there a theif skill were you create scrolls? shouldnt that be a mage skill?

on a side notice,

if i have a pure thief and get 'use any item' ability... so i can use any weapon... but then can i spend proficiency points in any weapon?

No.

your best bet is to make a fighter, and dual him at level 9 or so. then you can put some points into weapons that you want, and you will get past level 9 with a thief after only a few quests. then you can wield the ugly weapon know as corsamyr. go with crom faeyr, you wont be disapointed.

Morgan forgot to point out that BEFORE you can wield Carsomyr, you have to get at least 3 million EXP in your Thief half. You can, however, use any other 2-Handed Sword, or the Crom Faeyr, as soon as you regain your Fighter half.
