and A lot of people still feel there is more to learn about the attack on the World Trade Centers and the Pentagon. Many feel there was an inside conspiracy to allow the attacks to take place as a way to create a justification to go to war against Afghanistan and Iraq. History shows us two times where this occured in the past.... #1=In the early 1960s, America's top military leaders reportedly drafted plans to kill innocent people and commit acts of terrorism in U.S. cities to create public support for a war against Cuba. The plans were developed to trick the American public and the international community into supporting a war to oust Cuba's then new leader, communist Fidel Castro.Tese plans were known as Operation Northwoods, and included the possible assassination of Cuban émigrés, sinking boats of Cuban refugees on the high seas, hijacking planes, blowing up a U.S. ship, and even orchestrating violent terrorism in U.S. cities. However, these plans were not carried out as a direct result of JFK's leadership. #2=We also know that FDR "engineered" Pearl Harbor and that the lives lost at Pearl Harbor were lost deliberately, in pursuit of the larger goal of inducing America into World War II.Roosevelt believed that his countrymen would rally only to oppose an overt act of war on the United States. The decision he made, in concert with his advisors, was to provoke Japan through a series of actions into an overt act: the Pearl Harbor attack. After a yearlong campaign from the families of the 9/11 to begin an investigation the 9/11 Commission was created. However, many feel there are still areas which were ignored and never address by the commission as their main focus had merely turned into issuing a report containing 41 recommendations for improving our nation's security. Litterally millions of websites have been created which review details of the attacks questioning if the American public were told the truth and call for another investigation. The issue of who was behind the attacks, as well as the many facts which have since surfaced do pose many intriguing questions. What are your thoughts? Source: http://www.politicalcrossfire.com/fo...ic.php?t=28882 |
What are my thoughts? Sounds like rampant paranoia to me!

Much as I disagree with Bush's policies, this is just so much horse shit.

As a former gov't agent, I will say one thing about John Q. Public.
CLUELESS! |

Agreed. Although I can't claim to be very informed about the 9/11 investigations, the #1 and #2 examples are baloney. Particularly #2.
The oil embargo on Japan was in response to Japan's military invasion of China and SE Asia. FDR did not engineer Pearl Harbour. He may have taken political advantage of it to act according to his sympathies (e.g. to enter the war), but that conspiracy theory doesn't wash. His focus was on Germany throughout the early stages of the war, and it was touch and go whether the US would have declared war on Germany even after Pearl Harbour. Fortuitously, Hitler declared war on the US in an excess of egotism, which was the key post-Pearl Harbour event that drew the US into WWII in Europe. To back this up, see The Churchill War Papers, a three-volume set of Churchill's memoranda and telegrams during WWII, collected by Martin Gilbert, the official Churchill biographer. |
The United States was NOT in a state of war with Germany after Pearl Harbour. That is a common misunderstanding. Germany actually declared war to fulfill the Tripartite alliance with Japan.
As for the idea of WTC being a "fundraiser"... I'd say not. There are accounts of fundraisers in the past, but nothing to this degree. Logic dictates that any action leaves a trail of evidence. Making a fundraiser like this would be dangerous and nothing less than high treason. This risk of an incriminating document appearing in the press is simply too high. |

9/11 conspiracy theories are a dime a dozen on the internets. I hear there is a sale on the Isreali/Mossad theory on some internets, 3 for a penny. ;)

A truly well-formed conspiracy theory has its basis in truth...well, at least enough truth to be possibly true. To claim that the 9/11 attacks were allowed to happen is to ignore any possibility of truth. True, the planes could have been shot down once it was known they had altered their vectors and turned off their transponders, but that is the benefit of hindsight.
Any believable conspiracy theory will begin with the fact that the 9/11 attacks were unforseen but that the conspirators jumped at the opportunity to capitalize on the attacks. That is where you will find your really juicy conspiracies. Let me think.... Once troops hit the ground in Afghanistan, the oil companies purposely stopped refining as much oil so that they could purposely drive up the price of crude, resulting in a dramatic increase in profits. A lot of money in support of the military action also came from South American drug cartels, because the interruption in the Afghan poppy production meant that cocaine (and its derivatives) would be in greater demand. Meanwhile, the neo-cons took advantage of public paranoia to introduce the Patriot Act, which opened the door for later declarations of martial law and the possiblity of suspending the Constitution so that Bush can stay in office until the crisis passes. The usual one about "war for oil" has to be thrown out at this point, because if that were the case then where is my cheap gasoline? |
Rule #1 on conspir"asie" theories is conspiracies fall apart they depend on humans, and humans are weak somebody will always talk and give real evidence. ie:"Deepthroat" with the watergate coverup conspiracy. You can name any other real conspiracy and will find the same thing.
Rule #2 Thoughts, ideas, memos, "running something up the flagpole to see who salutes" it is not a conspiracy it is just a thought, idea, or memo nothing more nothing less. Rule #3 P.T. Barnum underestemated(sp?) the birth rate of suckers. Rule#4 There are always plenty of weaklings willing to grasp onto anything that looks like others are doing things underhanded behind the scenes. Instead of seeing the underhanded stuff going on in front of their eyes. Because if they admitted to seeing the stuff going on in front of their eyes they would have to admitt they don't have what it takes to stand up for what is right and try to stop it. So it is easier for them to have some nameless bunch of "THEY" or "THEM" pulling strings behind the scenes. In believing this the weak can grasp onto some justifcation for why they sat around and did nothing. After all how can they stand up to the all powerfull behind the scenes nameless conspirators? |
I like conspiracy theories. Most of them are just stupid (Illuminati breeding gray aliens at area 51, USA being led by aliens, anything else that has the word "alien" in it) and some others are less stupid. I can't think of one that sounded less stupid right now, but that's not the point.
Of 9/11 I don't know. I've always been under the impression that buildings don't collapse so nicely and neatly without using hundreds of explosive charges carefully placed around the building. And that plane looked pathetically small compared to the building and I find it surprisingly hard to believe that such a tiny mostly hollow piece of iron could destroy a massive building of that size. And no one has explained me the mysterious crater in WTC-6. Then again, it could be that I've been playing too much Deus Ex. |
Building do collapse nicely if the outer wall is providing a majority of the support, as was in the case of the World Trade Center towers. The impact of the jet knocked the flame-retardant flame off the steel inner structure and the burning jet fuel weakened the steel. Thus, the steel collapsed meaning that only the exterior wall was supporting the load...its failure was inevitable.
Iron Greasel, we're not breeding aliens at Area 51, but we are trying to reverse-engineer their technology. Where do you think we got microwave oven and integrated circuits? Just wait until we figure out how to correctly generate and control that much-coveted gravitic drive. |
No aliens? I'm kinda dissapointed. Not even the gray ones?
|
We're simply not breeding them, I didn't say we weren't working with them. The language barrier is making things difficult, mind you, since contrary to popular belief the aliens aren't telepathic....
