In a move that has taken the whole word by surprise, hawks in the
Pentagon who are still loyal to Atreides, have announced to the world today
that George Bush is the Kwisatz Haderach.

When the Kwisatz Haderach was questioned as to his motives in starting
the great crusade in Iraq, he flatly denied it was about Spice.
Instead claiming that it was only about "oil and profiteering".
Furthermore he made a statement of reassurance and intent to the Iraqi
people declaring that; "our water is your water".

He also Accused the Iraqis of having sardaukars fighting alongside
them, dressed falsely in the Iraqi army uniform. A Colonel Bashar of
the Iraqi army flatly denied this when we questioned him.

A military analyst we later consulted said: "he who controls the
Spice, controls Iraq"

Germany, France, Russia and the Spacers Guild are all still united in
condemning what they call a "shameful breaking of the great
convention".

Heheheh... I remember that book.

Cloudbringer 03-21-2003 06:52 AM

Eisenschwarz you need to list the author and source of articles or parts of articles you re-post here and preferably a link to the site you found it on if it's on the web.

Heh heh, Cloudy, it's a joke. A spoof/satire of the Iraqi conflict, liking it to the 'Dune' sci-fi saga by Frank Herbert.

I don't think so. ;) In other words, copyright doesn't care if it's spoof of serious...show a link to the source, please.

edit: Sorry, Hierophant...my post above was meant to be somewhat tongue in cheek, but might seem a little rude. LOL, Just thought I'd admit, I've not only read Dune et al, but 'studied' it among other works in High School and college classes. :D So I didn't miss the humor, just the acknowledgement of authorship. :D

Obviously if it's circulated in your EMAIL or what have you, with no authorship attached,it's not always possible! Still, it's nice to let us know if your humorous offering came from a cereal box or a website you plundered.

Yes I did create that.
I was recently Reading “Dune” and I felt inspired.
I did post it on 2 NG's first FYI.
HTH.

The analogy doesn't work Eisensdram.

If anything, Bush is akin to the Padishah Emperor Shaddam IV. (Ironic I know...) The Arabs (or other middle east natives like Jews, Assyrians or Kurds) are the Fremen, House Harkonnen are say Exxon and House Atreides BP or something. The Sardukar are the Marines.

So the Kwizatz Haderach would be an Islamic Messiah. Or A Jewish one.

Using a Dune analogy you should be calling Hussein the Kwizatz Haderach.

nooooooo...

I blame it on the fact that the Copy of “Dune” I read was so bad, when I ran my fingers over the print, it actually smudged.
Twas more akin to newsprint than something one would expect to find in a book that cost £14.99 (I got it from the library mind you so no loss on my part).

Wutang 03-22-2003 01:25 AM

LOL Eisen. Great post :)

I still love the Dune universe even after 20 years of reading that book.

Great post. :D

I would guess that Ix is the Silicon Valley and the Tleilaxu are the french?

The Bene Gesserit are the elite special forces of every nation, maybe they are just the CIA.

I don't think that the Marines are the equivalent of the Sardaukar. The Fremen are the best warriors in the Empire so thus THEY are the equivalent of the United States Marines. :D

Sir_Tainly 03-22-2003 06:36 PM

I can confirm this is true..as on the TV today was a US marine with the words "Shai Hulud" on his helmet!!!

(Seriously I did see it, but I'm assuming it has a meaning in arabic..anyone know what it is ? )

It a form of Hawaiian dance for the bashful.

No, it's really Tazo's compeditor. They make a nice Shai Latte apparently.
