Your local network should have it live.

In the beginning, unless I heard it wrong, he told the Iraqi people to fight against their government because it was not Islamic.

Then he went through some of the Muslim beliefs(no alcohol, no fornication), then he went through some old battles. He was talking about an old battle against the French, and I think he told the Iraqis not to accept help from the Socialist.

He's told them that when the battle comes, to drag it out as long as possible.

He wants them to be liberated from the Slavery of America.

EDIT - Maybe the "fight against your government" comment was for after another Gulf War.

This part was about a post war goverment, not Saddam.

He was saying to work with the Socialist, the Socialist being Saddam's government

He's asking for suicide bombers as well.

It's pretty bad, when I have to rebutt myself....lol.

Hey, it's hard to listen, recap and type at the same time. :D

The slavery that his rhetoric may or may not blind the Iraqi people into thinking they live under. If you want to incite a mob, use catchy hot-words.

SLAVERY

INFIDEL

FREEDOM

EVIL

you get the picture.

Well, I do hope that if we begin military action in the region we happen to find some way to accidently drop a bomb on Al Jazeera. As Bin Laden's mouthpiece and sock puppet, they are transmitting messages of terror, and perhaps worse - instructions - everywhere. I would love to see the whole network get cratered.

Djinn Raffo 02-14-2003 05:19 PM

I do not know if it is the case or not but it has always been my understanding that Al Jazeera was the most reputable of media outlets in the middle east.

Ronn_Bman 02-14-2003 06:09 PM

I think our public relations people should be ALL over Al Jazeera! Why let the other side have exclusive use of a valuable tool?

I don't understand what you mean here Ronn. Are you saying Al Jazeera are allied with terrorists?

Mark

Ronn_Bman 02-14-2003 06:46 PM

Nothing conspiratorial or non-PC about my statement to worry about Mark. I guess I got your problem of being misunderstood with that post though.

What I'm saying is our public relations people should be ALL over that network, doing interviews, etc.

There was an effort by the government to work with Al Jazeera to get out the American point of view. No sense in letting those who hate us have free reign on their without a rebuttal if they offer us the chance. Why not allow our people to put a decent face on America? Why let the idea of the fat, greedy, warmongering Satan prevail when this media outlet is available?

I know we currently have a Middle Eastern version of Radio Free Europe where we broadcast pro-American info, but there is no sense in not trying to use AJ as well.

Sure AJ is going to be biased to the Middle Eastern point of view, just as American media is biased, but if they allow the opportunity for US to talk we should talk every day. Despite the American media spin the alternate point of view is presented, and there are people who believe it here. Why shouldn't we do the same with Al Jazeera and assume there is the same element there that can't sift through what's being said? It stands a better chance than not putting out our side at all.

Duh, after re-reading the post that I responded to, I finally got it. :D

I'm not sure, but I'd guess it's a commercial network just like those in the West.
