Whether you like it, hate it, think its funny, or do not care...

take a look at this website called www.sorryeverybody.com

What is this? Everybody that wanted Kerry to win or at least wanted Bush to lose created this website where they submit a picture and a sign that explains why they personally are sorry to the rest of the world.

It's true. Nobody has apologized for her popularity yet.

Thanks Larry

Apology accepted.

Melusine 11-14-2004 09:45 AM

I just found that site yesterday - there's also an "apologies accepted" one.

Whoa.. over half of the pictures on that site appear to be from Dutch people.

Melusine 11-14-2004 01:43 PM

And half of those are in typically Dutch bad English. ;) It's a Dutch initiative, the site, so that's probably why there are more Dutch reactions. But the owners do state somewhere they want people from around the globe to respond, not just the Dutch.

Dirty Meg 11-14-2004 02:46 PM

About time. Now apologise for the Declaration of Independence.

No, if they didn't have the Declaration of Independence that would make us partially responsible for his re-election ;)

Why do Bush voters feel compelled to pose with their guns? Is it because war = guns = support the war by showing your gun? Is it because Democrats = no guns? No intiendo.

Nachtrafe 11-15-2004 10:53 AM

Timber. I think it's more a case of them saying 'See, I have a gun. I can have this gun because my President supports my right to have it'. Just a theory, mind you.

*Wishes he still had his guns....unfortunately he lives in the Mecca of Liberal-Ville, NY*

Donut 11-15-2004 01:31 PM

Oh what a shame. The "counterpoint" link shows "Page not found".

:D

Timber Loftis 11-17-2004 05:55 PM

DAMN!!! I wanted to read some more of the werenotsorry website, but it's been hijacked by a domain name speculator. Damn.

Nachtrafe 11-18-2004 01:38 PM

Yep. The current theories that I have seen floating around the Blogsphere are that either A) Their servers were crushed by a DDoS attack, or B) Their bandwidth was crushed. Both theories have the crushing being done by the VLWC(as opposed to the VRWC, most of which seemed to have posted a pic on www.werenotsorry.com )

Either way, it kind of sucks. Despite certain member's laughing at the fact that the counterpoint link shows "Page not found", I think it's a shame. Every political view needs counterpoint IMO, it's what keeps people honest. Of course, that's just MO...I could be wrong.

If I notice it coming back up Timber, I'll let you know.

Timber Loftis 11-18-2004 01:53 PM

Maybe it's just the sad fact that

You gotta watch out for the Dems on those INTERNETS!

Not that I can see. All I get is that annoying blonde bitch pictured on the Turnkey Website page.

Khazadman Risen 11-19-2004 08:03 PM

Yup. That's all I get.

Nachtrafe 11-23-2004 12:15 PM

Decided to check the link, and it's back, sort of. It now redirects to THIS SITE. The site doesn't seem to have the same pics archived, but it is basically the same sentiment.

Melusine 11-23-2004 01:06 PM

And such fine sentiments they are...

Edit: tried quoting some pics, but they don't allow direct linking. Somehow I'm not surprised - it doesn't exactly help their case.

Don't get me wrong, not saying anyone *should* apologise for voting for what they believe in, it just struck me how much more pathetic and rude this site is than its counterpart...

shamrock_uk 11-23-2004 01:11 PM

Certainly there are some wonderful stereotypes on there. The guy that has surrounded himself with assault weapons in his house, with the colourful caption "**** France" springs to mind.

Personally, I don't see much difference between the sentiments of the two sites. The home page of the "Sorry" site opens with a paragraph apologizing that our leaders are going to "screw over" the rest of the world for 4 more years. And I only had to go 3 pages to find guests there putting down the South, calling the other side names, and taking God's name in vain.

So I don't see a tremendous amount of difference between the sentiments being expressed by either side.

Timber Loftis 11-23-2004 01:38 PM

Did you see the guy with the sign "Take Note all Gay Liberals Who want to Marry -- Not Here Ya Queer!" ????

Talk about repressed homosexuality. If anyone ever needed a good ass-pokin it's that guy. He's on page 8.

And on page 15, there's some scantily-clad chick that looks like she's in the middle of updating her webcam site. There's a drunk chick on page 17, too -- looks like one of the Bush girls. Then -- oh my -- page 18 and 19.

Then, the guy who says he's not sorry morality won -- so suck it. Suck what, Mr. Morality?

I like to think our Reds on IWF are not as stupid as so many of their compatriots at Not Sorry. Well, here's to hoping.

Gay Freaks, I think it was. ;)

Cerek, I just noticed the we're not sorry site seemed extremely heavy on the "F*** you France", "**** you commie meatheads", "**** you you whining ******* pussies", "Gay Freaks" and similar subtle suggestions.
But of course it was to be expected people would go "Oh I didn't notice any difference between the two sites". :D I do feel there was a difference though. One was more about "it's ok guys don't worry" and the other was filled with hysterically swearing people, which makes sense if you feel, as I do and as I SAID in my last post, that people shouldn't have to defend themselves to quite such an extent for their beliefs. So it's perhaps logical - it's easier to apologise gracefully for something you didn't really do than to defend yourself gracefully from what you consider unfair accusations.

Your last comment makes an excellent point, Melusine. Since the "Not Sorry" site was created as a direct response towards the "Sorry" site, perhaps the members there do feel they are responding to "unfair accusations" from the "Sorry" site since the commments - including the inflammatory ones - were posted there first.

I didn't see any of the signs bashing France or Gays, but I only looked at the first 3 pages of each site. I didn't see many comments that were really bad on either site in that small sample. There were some insults and deragatory comments on each side, but nothing I would consider really "extreme". Of course, if I HAD to pick one that was worse, I would agree that that the "Not Sorry" site did seem more "defensive" and agressive in their comments.

I agree that BOTH sides have an equal right to voice their opinions. I also agree that both sides could - and should - exercise a healthy dose of restraint in their comments. I also think the people posting on either site are in serious need of a better hobby - which is why I've avoided commenting on either one till now.

The Hierophant 11-24-2004 01:42 AM

I really enjoy reading the little rants that the 'not sorry' guys scribble on their pictures. Most of them just artlessly regurgitate republican propaganda slogans. It's reassuring to know that I am so much smarter than so large a percentage of the human population.

Thank YOU ignorant, working-class rednecks!
