My favorite spell would either be either Finger of Death or Abi Dalzim's Horrid Wilting. They both just wipe your enemies right off the map!

Yes but spells that cause the fictume to suffer are better.

Willard 05-13-2002 09:46 PM

If you want spells to make your enemies suffer, I would recommend casting the spells Web, Entangle, hold, and Stinking Cloud, and then send a couple Cloudkills in there to wrap everything up. I found this method especially handy while fighting the fallen paladins in that corner at the Bridge District.

Dragon Knight Kain 05-13-2002 09:53 PM

A realy good way to make theme suffer is tagle thim in web thene summon 20 imps and tell theme to slowly eat him alive from the bottom up I like my torture chamber.

Willard 05-13-2002 10:05 PM

how do you summon imps?

Radek 05-14-2002 03:14 AM

I prefer Mordekainen Sword. A really fantastic spell against almost all creatures that can do big harm to you.

F. Gottwald 05-14-2002 04:20 AM

project image - reuse all those other great spells
polymorph self - magic immunity or reasonable combat prowess
wizard eye - the best decoy ever.

Daniel_M 05-14-2002 05:45 AM

My Faveorite Spells are:

Protection from energy - 75% immunity to cold, fire, and magic based attacks
Pretection from the Elements - 75% Immunity to all elements
Lower Resistance - Lowers magical resistance
Time Stop - Err stops time...

Thats about it

you can't, unless it's your familiar and you're CE (maybe LE, i forget). DNK was just joking, i hope.

Protection from Magical Weapons, Stoneskin, Spell Trap, Comet.

Dragon Knight Kain 05-14-2002 04:34 PM

Nope not jokeing not summoning just cast gate spell to where my secret place is were I experiment on things and I have 40 imps there they come through and do what ever I say Don't ask me how I do it its a secret only me and my friend know.

kanri 05-14-2002 04:35 PM

Mine is the...
1. Fire ball
2. finger of death
3. cause critical wounds

Xero279 05-14-2002 09:12 PM

I like wyvern call, fire arrow, and finger of death. fire arrow does A LOT of damage and is low lvl so u can use a lot for those who resist finger of death.. plus the wyvern makes a good tank. O, and i have my OWN torture chamber (actually i have two)

Helspanth 05-15-2002 08:39 AM

1.Animate Dead
2.Death spell
3.Abi Dalzim's horrid wlting

Necromancy rocks!!!!!!

Gedd 05-15-2002 09:16 AM

Melfs Minute Meteors. Ihave a 19th/24th level mage/thief with high dex. Improved haste plus metoers equal 10 attacks/round. Really quite funny watiching them explde rapidly one after the other. I found that the time stop trap plus meteors mean that you fire about 15 instantly, watch them explode simultaneiously doing about 140 points of damage. They also rip down stoneskin and mirror immage, are +5 weapons (iron gollems) do fire dammage AND are only level 4!

What more could you want?

Gedd, double-posting is evil.

Also, MMM is only 3rd level, not 4th. (even better!) but, in ToB, Energy Blades is better. you throw them at 9/round, they do 2d10 electrical plus 1d4+5 piercing. fighter/mages kill dragons real quick, especially in a time stop. :D

Disintegrate. Really cool spell, though the chances of it succeeding is rather low. ;)
But the strongest spell, IMO, is Imprisonment, by far. Really powerful spell, and the worst one to get across if you go solo... :D

Just a question.
When you disintegrate-imprison an opponent do you get the loot from them?

Xero279 05-15-2002 07:41 PM

NO, if you imprison them you dont get anythign unless you use freedom on them, and with distentegrate there is a high change their items will be destroyed along with them :( that sucks lol but its a cool spell. flesh to stone is cool too cuz u shatter them after they harden lol

Chaos Engine 05-15-2002 08:36 PM

If you use flesh to stone spell, and you shatter the enemy does that mean their items are shattered as well?

Thaziax 05-16-2002 10:10 AM

yes it does.
1.fireball
2.protection from magical/normal weapons
3.ice storm/cloud kill

Lazarus 05-16-2002 12:11 PM

Power word, kill is very useful against foolish mages. Unless they have hit points above 60.

Suzaku 05-16-2002 12:24 PM

Not many enemy mage w/ over 60 HP in the game...Fav spells(not in any specific order):

- Time Stop (yeah!)
- Gate (very fun, just annoying if enemy mages imprison it...)
- Sphere of chaos and Greater Malison
- Simacralum

And if you use SK (it's fun anyway)
-Black and Silver Dragon breath:D

Morgeruat 05-16-2002 12:42 PM

mine is teleport field, it's great watching a carefully set up group of enemies in a nearly impregnable wedge suddenly zip all over the map (no save), prevents swarming which can be deadly to any character, (esp ones with the attack script) and with boots of speed (paladin w/carsomyr, and ranger dual wielding- boots from the planar sphere and token machine from spellhold) you catch them before they can swarm you.

I also like glitterdust (reveal illusion and blind all in one)
As Xero said, if you Imprison one, yes, the items will be lost. But if you Disintegrate, there are some few items (mostly very strong magical weapons and key-items) that will 'survive', others will be destroyed. ;)

That's of course a very stupid thing for both spells, but they are still my favourites.

Madman-Rogovich 05-16-2002 02:34 PM

Gotta admit im a disintagrate man at heart too...it truly is a blinding spell the graphics for it rule too
