SEATTLE -- In a secretly videotaped confession, Atif Rafay and Sebastian Burns laughed as they told two undercover Mounties how they killed Rafay's parents and his autistic sister.

They laid out a macabre murder-for-profit story, from the day they bought the bat used to end the lives of Tariq, Sultana and Basma Rafay in their Bellevue, Wash., home to the day they jettisoned it in a Seattle dumpster.

Rafay and Burns -- both 18 at the time of the 1994 killings -- are scheduled to stand trial in Seattle in September for aggravated first-degree murder.

It will be an interesting case to say the least. I certainly hope they don't go free on a technicality that police video taped their confession.

I wonder what the norm is for accepting evidence from other countries?

futuristic alternative to capital punishment :D

implant memories of their victims murdurs from the victims point of view, that they live through every time they close their eyes.

nasty i know, but theyd never do it again!

They laughed while bragging about what they did ? This calls for medieval punishment

And lets start buy hanging all those involved in the murder of *prisoners* who were later found to be innocent. ;) the question is who first? the prosecuter? the judges? the Jury? the voters?

</font>
There is a time for capital punishment...when the convicted is self confessed, or they can be beyond a shadow of a doubt, such as videotaped evidence. These 2 kids confessed on tape and laughed about a murder they committed, a very violent murder. The boys themselves admit freely to their guilt, there is no question they commited that crime.

Clifford Olson, why is he still alive? Why are taxpayers forced to provide a life for someone so evil, as to kill and rape multiple children? He freely admits to it and has to be kept in a seperate cell or the other inmates will kill him, he is that evil.

In certain circumstances, capital punishment is necessary.

I cannot fathom those who are soft on people found guilty of the most heinous crimes like child murder or the like Animal. Why do they want to end the punishment the scum fully deserve by terminating their life? Why so bloody soft? Let them rot in jail, getting bashed and male raped every so often. Spending every living moment for the rest of the lives looking over the shoulder waiting for the next attack. A LIFE of constant fear and misery is the very least they deserve. Why give them the soft option just because it costs the government money? The poor victims are deserving of every penny spent on keeping the guilty in a living hell.

Capital punishment IS the soft option.

I don't want my tax dollars going to keep some sick individual alive, when his obvious victoms aren't. I's rather those same tax dollars go towards the victoms family.
