Cloudy's Cafe

Come in, be welcome, be comfortable, be yourself

Welcome to Cloudy's Cafe, a place to have a cup of coffee or a good
darjeeling and the finest in conversation and camaraderie.

The proprietor asks that you follow a few simple guidelines:

this is a real conversation zone, not a role-play zone

[i]* no flaming; if you disagree with a viewpoint expressed by any patron, please do so in a civil manner
* any topic is fair game, but keep posts to the standards that Ziroc has set for the entire forum, please (ie: foul language is not appropriate and things should be suitable for all audiences)
-a side note from Cloudy: I see this as a place for those short
conversations about a new baby or the latest soccer fiasco, not for things that are big enough to warrant their own threads, by all means give those things the space they need and post separately!
* Please, no one word or smiley posts (Ziroc has declared them 'real spam' and the proprietor doesn't want the reputuation of "good spam" to suffer!)
* do feel free to be serious or silly and enjoy the company of others while you are here. By all means POST if you have something to say, even to start another topic , we can handle multiple chats, we're a CAFE!!! But be courteous and don't disrupt a conversation just to disrupt it.[i]

Come on in! The bar is stocked with coffees, teas, juices and waters from around the world. And purple napkins, of course!

The lighting is low, the golden oak counters and tables glow with inviting warmth. Near the window, the lighting is brighter, as comfy, plush leather armchairs wait for those who'd like to read a book while relaxing to music or just lazily watch the world go by.

Cloudy,
your hostess [img]graemlins/ladyhearts.gif[/img]

Cloudbringer 05-15-2002 09:26 AM

Just a little bit from last post in the old one, to get started:

"Uss, how about we start a new Cafe today and you try chatting about something you might be interested in that others can relate to? Do you have any hobbies like running, stamp collecting, writing poetry, or something? Do you have pets? How about brothers and sisters? What subjects are you taking in school? Do you like any of them? Stuff like that would help."

Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening to everyone! I'm off for a little while but thought I'd stop in and put on some more coffee. :D

nick1979 05-15-2002 09:27 AM

How do everyone?? ;)

Neb 05-15-2002 12:42 PM

Ah yes, only two weeks till school is officially over :D And then it'll be time for Seph and I to check the limits of our physical endurance like we agreed to long ago... Seeing who can stay away the longest, ends in a draw once we both pass 96 hours....

Anyone wanna join our battle of endurance? :D

uss 05-15-2002 02:02 PM

hi.
good idea, cloudy. has anybody seen any good movies lately? i saw Evolution. that was kinda cool.
IWD: its still very difficult, though also still very fun. im in the cave of the beetles, spiders and lizards.
Morrowind: grr! freezes all the time. kinda looks like Matrix(meaning that it has alot of slow motion). i think ill uninstall it. damn, Mw would be a very good game if it would be fast and wouldnt freeze all the time!

Sigmar 05-15-2002 02:55 PM

Hey everybody! How's everyone doing, well I hope. The weathers great here in Gibraltar, nice and bright. I'd just like to say thankyou to Neb,BK,Uss,Malkaviel,Aveindah,Downunda and Azred again for helping me through my mid-forum crisis

Neb, I'm positive that what you are hoping to achieve will resuslt in the loss of your eyes! How can you hope to look at a monitor for 96 hours? You're a little bit crazier then I first thought...good luck to you two.

Talthyr Malkaviel 05-15-2002 03:03 PM

Hey I think I vaguely remember that... but wasn't it only 48 hours hours or something at first???
Ah well.
Heh.. at first I thought you meant 96 hours away from IW.
BTW, Sigmar, no prblem... how are you??

Oh yeah, the draons eye place right?? I remember that, fight loads of bugs and lizardmen, sleep until you don't get woke up by more and kill them, the kill more.
That's a great game IWD!

Sigmar 05-15-2002 03:07 PM

I'm feeling great, I've passed all my exams in school and now the rest of the remaining weeks in school will be smooth sailing for me. This gives me more time for my new Gamecube :D , what about you.

Talthyr Malkaviel 05-15-2002 03:12 PM

That's a coincedence, I've just finished doing two weeks of exams, my mock year 10 ones before my GCSE's in year 11, well, almost finished, I have a whole day purley of drama tomorrow which is so cool because no uniform, no need to trudge around school in the heat with a hefty bag on me and of course, drama's the best subject ever (one of them anyway.)
Other than that I'm done though and should get my results pretty soon. :D
yeah. its somehow.. diffirent than the BGs. when i was close to the end of the Vale of Shadows, i got pissed off because the skeleton killing got a little boring. i had to fight alot of skeletons to get into another room, then the next room, the one after that and so on. now, i saved and stopped playing when i got to the undead place in Dragons Eye. this parts a bit difficult too .
my party has 4 characters because controlling a 5 or 6 membered party would be annoying..

Talthyr Malkaviel 05-15-2002 03:18 PM

Really?? I've always found it easy to have a full party, and a bit better as you can have a wider spread of classes etc, but I suppose that's just small differences.
Until a while ago, I couldn't get any further than (SPOILER)
.
.
.
Dorn's deep because of a bug in the CD copy I had, but I installed it with someone elses working copy and I can still run it with my CD.

Sigmar 05-15-2002 03:31 PM

I've got my mocks next year, and as for drama I wouldn't know anything about that, good luck with your results.

Have you heard about the next Tombraider guys, thats bound to be good Does anyone here like this series (or do you like me wonder why they don't take it out to the yard and shoot it)

Talthyr Malkaviel 05-15-2002 03:41 PM

I think i'll have cockrach testicles on a silver platter... they've got to be a delicacy somewhere!!

Sigmar 05-15-2002 03:45 PM

Good lord, for one mere second that actually sounded nice Malkaviel, do cockroaches even have testicles (they probably have internal organs which have the same abilities)? Have you tried deep fried mars bars though, they're great. Despite what many people say.

Cloudbringer 05-15-2002 04:01 PM

*Thwacks Talthyr soundly with a week old bagel* There are NO cocroaches in this cafe! Humph!

Uss, I love IWD! Dragonseye is an interesting 'dungeon crawl' farther along. I used 6 pc's in my game and really had some fun. It wasn't always easy, either! I'm at the end of Trials of the Luremaster (HoW too) with my single game. I've beaten IWD in single game and in multiplay and am playing a multiplay game all the way through with someone else now. We're in the Drangonseye too! But a few levels farther down than you are just now.

RBF! Hello and happy half day to you! :D I know what you mean about the 'replace your mouse' models. I'm not too keen on that roller ball thingy but my dad's HP laptop wasn't too bad.

Hi Sigmar! Glad to hear the err.. mid forum crisis is averted! LOL

Neb- you are nuts! LOL 96 hrs... HAHAHAHHAHA! *gets out the snacks and drinks for a long long long and amusing time*

Well, I'm off again, sorry to hit and run, but I'll be back later.

Waves to Elif, says bye to Downunda and Aviendha as they leave and blows a kiss to LS, hehe.... :D

Talthyr Malkaviel 05-15-2002 05:14 PM

A bump is when you post to put it back to near the top of the page so it won't get lost.
And BTW, that's great news, good to see you so happy.
