If you were stuck on an Island with no food or resources except water (bit of a stretch, I know, but work with me here, guys) what kind of food would you choose that you had to eat for the rest of your life?

I suppose there will be a lot of choices for chocolate.

I would like to point out, before the more cynical of you do, that this thread has no point

Ar-Cunin 05-10-2002 02:54 PM

I would choose rice - it is nutricious and i like it (although I would miss salt to put on I suspect.)

Horatio 05-10-2002 02:56 PM

Yeah, rice would be good, but it'd have to egg-fried or Pilau.

MILAMBER 05-10-2002 03:19 PM

Beer.

Talthyr Malkaviel 05-10-2002 03:26 PM

Well, if we couldn't have a proper breakfast of beer, like Milamber said, I do like lasagne.
And malt brandy, i'll have to take some malt brandy as well.

Sazerac 05-10-2002 03:36 PM

Anything but RAISINS. I abominate the little suckers. BLECH! Yecchy plech!

-Sazerac

P.S. Oh..as to favorite foods? Most meat, veggies, and fruit...except for those confounded little illigitimate dried up grape snots.

Epona 05-10-2002 03:43 PM

Beer! Beer is the 6th food group, after all

If that doesn't count (blasphemy! ) then I'd take pasta.

khazadman 05-10-2002 04:47 PM

saz,i get the feeling you might not like raisins.can't blame you though,i hate them myself.and i say this as i look at the huge tub of the things my sister left on my desk.
i myself would choose pizza.

Krishach 05-10-2002 04:49 PM

*takes saz and shoves him on an island with nothing but water*

*places some raisins next to Saz*

*watches as Saz desperately tries to rehydrate the raisins*

Arnabas 05-10-2002 09:59 PM

Pizza. Has all the food groups in one yummy package.

Horatio 05-11-2002 09:47 AM

Yes, and also makes you die of a heart attack at 34.

At least, if you got it from Pizza Hut it would.

No pizza beats Domino's.

Arnabas 05-11-2002 02:01 PM

Domino's... Ick. Cardboard crust.
Not a fan of Pizza Slut either. I like the little Mom'n'Pop pizza places that don't count the slices of pepperoni to make sure they don't give you too much. One place I go gives you 2 large pizzas with 3 topping and 6 cans of Coke (or whatever drink you want) for $2 more than Pizza Slut charges for 1 pizza with 1 topping.

Way to insta-gib saz

Zidane 05-11-2002 04:04 PM

It has got to be baked potato topped with plenty of butter, tuna, sweetcorn, onion and mayonnaise all mixed nicely together.

In fact that is what I will have for my dinner tomorrow. Yes I know its Sunday tomorrow, but a little bit of what you fancy does you good.

Megabot 05-11-2002 04:34 PM

or Sausages

Seriously though; some sort of curry would be nice, assuming it came with some rice. (not a hot one mind you)

I have it from a totally unreliable source that the Fart Raptor keeper's aversion to raisins might be due to an unfortunate episode involving rabbit droppings in his youth

Animal 05-11-2002 07:24 PM

Hmmph, a beer pizza?

Talthyr Malkaviel 05-11-2002 07:27 PM

Pizza flavoured beer??

Animal 05-11-2002 07:30 PM

Perhaps we're on to something here. Drat, where's that phone number for the patend office?

Talthyr Malkaviel 05-11-2002 07:34 PM

Mmmmmm, Domino's beer.... *drools*

AliCat 05-11-2002 11:14 PM

Okay, one food on a desert island... my immediate vote would be for bread... which comes in plenty of varieties.

And... hmmm... I'd like to note that pizza is bread with a few toppings thrown on. So there would definitely be the occasional pizza.

Moni 05-12-2002 03:26 AM

I'd have to opt for the never-empty crock pot full of roast beef...you got the meat, the veggees and the essential water all there.
Can I have a never-empty loaf of bread with an everlasting stick of butter to go with it? ;)
OK cheddar cheese and sour cream too! ;)
