Cloudy's Cafe

Come in, be welcome, be comfortable, be yourself

Welcome to Cloudy's Cafe, a place to have a cup of coffee or a good
darjeeling and the finest in conversation and camaraderie.

The proprietor asks that you follow a few simple guidelines:

this is a real conversation zone, not a role-play zone

[i]* no flaming; if you disagree with a viewpoint expressed by any patron, please do so in a civil manner
* any topic is fair game, but keep posts to the standards that Ziroc has set for the entire forum, please (ie: foul language is not appropriate and things should be suitable for all audiences)
-a side note from Cloudy: I see this as a place for those short
conversations about a new baby or the latest soccer fiasco, not for things that are big enough to warrant their own threads, by all means give those things the space they need and post separately!
* Please, no one word or smiley posts (Ziroc has declared them 'real spam' and the proprietor doesn't want the reputuation of "good spam" to suffer!)
* do feel free to be serious or silly and enjoy the company of others while you are here. By all means POST if you have something to say, even to start another topic , we can handle multiple chats, we're a CAFE!!! But be courteous and don't disrupt a conversation just to disrupt it.[i]

Come on in! The bar is stocked with coffees, teas, juices and waters from around the world. And purple napkins, of course!

The lighting is low, the golden oak counters and tables glow with inviting warmth. Near the window, the lighting is brighter, as comfy, plush leather armchairs wait for those who'd like to read a book while relaxing to music or just lazily watch the world go by.

Cloudy,
your hostess [img]graemlins/ladyhearts.gif[/img]

Epona 05-07-2002 04:30 AM

Absolutely pissing down with rain today :(

Downunda 05-07-2002 04:47 AM

It always seems to be raining or overcast in the UK? When I was working in as a photo developer you could tell the photos that had been taken on a UK holiday, all dreary and grey looking
Howse it Epona, apart from the rain?

Sorcerer Alex 05-07-2002 04:59 AM

Hello everyone

Well, I have the week off so I'm just deciding on how to spend it. The only thing that is likely to ruin it is the driving lessons that are speckled throughout it (I hate them with a burning passion). Can anybody tell me if killing a driving instructor is in fact a federal offense?

Well not always, but a lot! If we get 2-3 weeks of good weather in the summer that is a fairly good year. :(

Other than that, I'm back at work and just off to a meeting which will probably run through lunchtime

Lioness 05-07-2002 07:23 AM

Mornin everyone!

I'm off to school in a bit...

Hi, all, I haven't been able to get on. I see that Z is having trouble with the router, whatever that is.

Barry the Sprout 05-07-2002 10:04 AM

Probably should post this in here, has anyone seen Sir Regin around at all? Just wondering where he had got to. I go off for a few weeks and now he is completely gone. Any ideas anyone?

uss 05-07-2002 11:18 AM

heya, everybody!
i tried to come here hours ago but i had a "page cannot be displayed" error. i think the error came from IW, not my internet(though my connections middle name is "crap" and because of a good reason :D ).
anyway, how are you all doing this sunny day? Galadria, are you going to finish the game; have you already finished the game or did your worm killing instincts take you over ;) ?

Tiamat 05-07-2002 11:24 AM

Didn't he get a girlfriend? Perhaps she's what's distracting him from IW ;)

He's alright I guess. I just wouldn't buy any of his cds that's all.

It's been one long hot school day, let me tell you, and it still isn't over yet. Can't say everything is going fine either. I *hate* research papers! Enough said!

So what have the rest of you been doin?

i really liked eminems first 2 songs(My Name Is and Guilty Consience) but, sorry, i dont like eminem anymore because his songs just keep getting worse. I like System Of A Down, Queens of the Stone Age - Feel Good Hit Of The Summer, Clawfinger, Rammstein and Powerman 5000 - When Worlds Collide. btw, a new(actually, old) cool song i really like is Muse - Newborn. IŽd also like to say that a long time ago, i was a Limp Bizkit and Korn fan. i loved +80% of all of their songs. i was their fan for about 1 and a half years but some time ago, i stopped listening to them because i heard most of them in my Winamp playlist about 2-3 times a day. i just became bored of em. i only listen to some of their old songs: Korn - Somebody Someone and Falling Away From Me; Limp Bizkit - Break Stuff
btw i hate Limp Bizkit now because of their new low quality songs and the absence of Wes Borland(you know! the guy who always paints his face :D ).

And EVERYBODY, post your favourite songs or bands(if allowed). listening to music is one of my hobbies and i`m just very curious to know .

Neb 05-07-2002 12:47 PM

Our favorite songs and groups? Alright then, here goes:

Anti-Flag: The Panama Deception, Viequez Puerto Rico Bikini Revisited, Captain Anarchy, A New Kind Of Army, This Machine Kills F***ing Fascists.

Dead Kennedys: I kill children(It's not as bad as it sounds, trust me.), California Uber Alles.

Metallica: Unforgiven, For Whom The Bell Tolls, Battery, Fuel.

Pink Floyd: High Hopes, On The Turning Away, Hey You, Bike, The Wall.

Besides that I listen to an unholy-ly huge collection of soundtracks and instrumentals that I have

Redblueflare 05-07-2002 12:51 PM

Bands I like: (Be aware this list will be short, as I just got into this kinda music)

Blink 182
Three Doors Down
Puddle Of Mud
Green day

Well that was simple enough wasn't it?

Ar-Cunin 05-07-2002 12:57 PM

Favourite bands:

Sting (the Police) - Sisters of Mercy
Metallica - Mike Oldfield
Dire Straits - Dance-music
Enya - Midnight Oil (sorry couldn't find another E)

OK - so a have a screwed up taste in music ;)

Galadria 05-07-2002 01:21 PM

Hi, all. Overcast and rather dreary here. Uss, yeah, I'm back in dear ol' Sigel and back down under (my apologies to the Aussies, I don't think that you have worms that big down there, not to speak of Greater Cornagons, yay)

hmm, i joined up in a Limp Bizkit email thingy in the net. i now kinda regret it. anyway, they keep on advertising Puddle Of Mud in their mails like "new Puddle of Mud T-Shirt!" "New Puddle Of Mud album!!" and it makes me sick. but about Puddle Of Mud itself, i have heard only one song. the song itself was ok but the singer makes a horrible face when he is singing. in the video, he sometimes looks normal, calm and stuff but when he starts singing, he looks like he`s really mad, with a very red face and shouting something and i think it would look better if he`d put a bag over his head(no offense. just look at that video where he is walking through somekind of road and see it for yourself.)

may i ask, why, oh why are you still killing worms?? i would absolutely be sick of it. it`ll be amusing to see your characters levels in the end ;) .

Galadria 05-07-2002 01:48 PM

I'm doing it, uss, because I'm not particularly interested in ending the game right now, with more than a month to go before NWN comes out, and because I want DakKon to be able to cast his 9th level spell just ONCE! (He is a 16th level mage is all)

Cloudbringer 05-07-2002 02:02 PM

I want my vacation NOW! Things are so hectic around here...gimmee vacation! Calgon...oh wait, Elif's in that bath already... ;) LOL Well, I have dibs on it when it's free!

Galadria 05-07-2002 02:06 PM

Hi, Cloudy! Tuesday is too far from the weekend, isn't it? Have a cup of Constant Comment. How are your flowers. My oleanders are starting to bloom, and there are flower buds on the Crape Myrtles. My irises are full of color. Just planted the basil (guiltily)

Zidane 05-07-2002 02:21 PM

Oooooh and a nice donut or two to dunk.

Same here, coffee, no sugar, cream.

Plus I have put the CD on:

Bryan Adams
Dido
Anastacia
Shakira
Eminem (occasionally, depends on my mood)

Oh well, reading a good book at the moment too, by the guy who brought us "Kiss the Girls" and "Along came a Spider" - James Patterson. It is called "1st to Die" - can't put it down, have been known to walk along the road reading a book......

Oh well, my b/f is cooking my dinner, I am posting here, and I am about to play a game soon. What better way to wind down after a frustrating day at work.

See ya

Lady Zidane

Not necessarily; horticulture is non-gender-specific. Furthermore, the art of flower arranging is, in Japan, considered to be a martial art, studied alongside the sword and calligraphy. Anyway, enough of that.

Mocha coffee, if you would, please, with one shot of almond flavoring, a dash of ground cinnamon, one spoon of sugar, and whole cream. *sip* Wonderful! I do love my coffee! Would you happen to have any biscotti, perhaps?

The sprout can now swim unaided, at least reasonably; at the very least he isn't afraid of the water anymore. I wish I'd learned to swim at his age...oh, well.

Is it just me, or do I have a strange sentence structure and really long, complex sentences with multiple clauses and pauses? I can never tell. It wouldn't be so bad, I suppose, if I didn't also talk this way; this must explain why here, as in real life, I am not the most conversationally-oriented person in the room at any given time.

Talthyr Malkaviel 05-07-2002 02:49 PM

Galadria 05-07-2002 02:50 PM

Hey, we have another Lady Z. Hi, Zidane, you don't mind that I look at your Eminem CD, do ya? Oops, broke it, sorry. :D
Azred, I'm glad that the sprout is swimming, Will won't get in the water, but maybe this year! What happened to the game, Sunday?

Beltazar 05-07-2002 02:52 PM
