Career Change

A gynecologist had a burning desire to change careers and become a mechanic. So she found out from her local tech college what was involved, signed up for evening classes and attended diligently, learning all she could. When time for the practical exam approached, she prepared carefully for weeks, and completed the exam with tremendous skill.

When the results came back, she was surprised to find that she had obtained a mark of 150%. Fearing an error, she called the instructor, saying "I don't want to appear ungrateful for such an outstanding result, but I wondered if there had been an error which needed adjusting."

The instructor said, "During the exam, you took the engine apart perfectly, which was worth 50% of the total mark. You put the engine back together again perfectly, which is also worth 50% of the mark. I gave you an extra 50% because you did all of it THROUGH the muffler..."

Arvon, ever thought of just posting your jokes in one thread? Like JJ does? Then everyone would know where to find them if they are looking for a laugh and it would all be in one place for anyone new who finds them amusing. Just a thought!

I second the motion - and I think this has actually been proposed a few times before already. I think containing all your jokes in a single thread would be much easier - gives a nice overview and doesn't clog up the board so much.

It's been suggested before. But I'm not sure of the format.Doesn't this kind of thing get rather big? I'm on a dialup so access is very slow. But thanks, I'll give it some thought.

Just keep adding to this thread and when it gets to 125-150 posts you start a new one with same name but perhaps "Amusing 2". Works just fine.

I third the motion, and strongly suggest that it is adopted. Joke threads are great, but they're best consolidated into one; not to mention it makes it easier for those who wish to find them.

Hey, I definitely like the title! It should go well, I would think. J.J. has done group threads like this before that have gone very successfully.

Cheers, and thanks,
-Saz
