Is Zelda the old nintendo or sega (can't remember which) game with princess' and stuff?
If so, then yes, I have heard of it, but I have never played it. My friends gave me the nickname Link at one stage because I "dated" 3 girls in a row all called Crystal, needless to say, the joke was that I had to collect all the crystals to finish the game |
It was on the NES SNES and N64 right?? Ive heard of it
|
Yeah I remember Zelda. I have both the games (on N64) but they have gathered quite abit of dust! They were excellent games; a good challenge, intresting characters and a pretty good story.
|
Well I have just played Link's awakening on gameboy...
|
Yeah, but I'm really looking foward to the new one, it looks brilliant Cell shaded graphics are definitely the way to go

Ive played and beaten every OTHER Zelda Game, i played the first game for NES, then the sequel to that on the NES, then I played the GaMEBOY version, skipping the SUPER nes version, and then I played Zelda 64 but I never got Majora's mask because by that time I'd gotten a Dreamcast from sega and was obsessed with RPGs for it like Shenmue, and I did take a liking to sonic adventure. I also am not gonna get a game cube nor a GB advanced so you can just skip those new zelda games entireley too...
but yeah I like zelda anyway! and I think the new Zelda will rock whether it's realistic OR cartooney! |

You know I really wouldn't mind if it was done with Cell shaded graphics. As long as they hadn't shown us what the game would look like with realistic graphics, it was incredible. Those three screenshots had got me thinking if Gamecube could produce games like that within the first years of its life it must be an incredible machine. But then they announce that they will be using Cell shading instead, they unveil the new Link which looks like a pixie with a huge head with scary manga style eyes. Compare that to the ultrarealistis Link shown at Spaceworld last year! Needless to say I have lost all faith in Nintendo. First they release a INCREDIBLY short game that will take you two days to finish (Luigi's mansion), then Pikman a good idea but again short, they then announce that all there ames in the future will be directed against the younger audience (and they will all be short too apparently), then the Link incident and THEN Mario. We were promised a new more mature look for Mario and what happens to him? He wears denim trousers instead of what he used to wear...Thats it!? The new game's storyline (Mario Sunshine)does'nt show too much promise either Peach goes on holiday to an island (presumably to avoid getting captured by Bowser AGAIN) and when she arrives she notices that the island is covered in colours and monsters. Mario being the nice guy that he is volunteers to remove the colours with his new water gun backpack and to get rid of the monsters. But I still love the other developers such as Rare and Sega, but Nintendo has certainly lost it's way IMHO (except for the consoles though), and by the way Zelda is brilliant and the two on the N64 were some of the best games I have ever played. -Angry moaning mode off- |

Yeap i have heard of them i have played all of them except the ones on the N64 very well writen games.
|
Of course I have. In fact, I thought that was where our very own "Link" got his name from.
|
The first Zelda game on the NES was actually the first computergame i played (and finished). After that i've played the Adventure of Link, the SNESgame (link to the past?) and both N64-games.Although i haven't played them for quite a while,i still think those are great games.Think Majora's mask is the last Zelda game i bought.I'm not gonna buy a Gamecube (i think).
So yeah,i remember! |
I loved Zelda for the N64 (Ocarin of Time - mispelled, but ya know what I mean...) but I didn't really think it had much replay value...
BK |
I've heard of it and played and loved most of the games, both NES the SNES game, the GB game, the 2 N64 incarnations. as far as Nintendo's new gaming directions how about the new Metroid? Turning a classic game and characters into a quake clone? anyone else think this is a moronic idea? of course i wasn't overly fond of them turning link into a Lara Croft copy in the N64 games.
|
I've played the snes game and i've played 2 of the 3 gameboy games. also i've completed bothe the N64 incarnations (all exept for one ***king bottle on ocarina of time. those damn big poes!!!)
ok i'll calm down now and start hiding in my corner again. bruce |
I played some of the nes ones when I was a kid. And later Link the Past(Alot!)Only played Occarina of time twice at a friends place, but it looks really cool

Yep, I've heard of Zelda. I've played both games on N64 and LOVED them, and two on GB.
I'm looking forward to the new game on Gamecube, but IMO, the incredibly graphics makes it look too cartoonish. Cant say if this is a bad thing or not, but it will certainly be different to play it. |
well the way I see it: If the graphics are toned down, then won't more game-play be added? How many more dungeons can you fit on that teeny disk when link isn't made up of a good 700 million triangles? A few I'd suppose...

Personally, I'm all for gameplay at the expense of visual sweets (if I want eyecandy and a game so short you'll hardly know you've played, I simply go visit the cimena), but unfortunately, low graphics don't always equal a good game.
Most people still hope that the larger coorporations won't make short work of sequels, but you never know... As for Zelda, I've beaten the gameboy version several times over the years, on a very low graphic gameboy (without the fancy colours on the screen or the gameboy itself), and I played the SNES game once as well. Additionally, I seem to remember something about Zelda cartoons on tv... |

why have so many of you only played the N64 ones?
get yourselves an SNES and play "The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past" incredible game. Quote:

Heck, before I lost all of my favourites, I actually had the url to a site where I could download loads of Zelda cartoons - never bothered to, always thought "maybe later", and now the URL got lost in limbo... The horror. ;) |
I played Zelda: Link's Awakening on gameboy. LOVED it! Of course, I got stuck slightly more than halfway through (that game is incredibly difficult near the end) and had to *sniff* read a walkthrough (the shame, the shame). Starting A Link To The Past now
