If you were a member of Bgdungeon when did you join Ironworks and what was your name there, I was just curious as I noticed that a lot of people joined in May and I wanted to see if any of them were refugees like me (my name there was Cypher_ btw)

I was a member at BGDungeon... Was known over there as both Grojlach and Marsplm.
Funny, we've just had a "for old times' sake" thread with BGDungeon memories at the Elysium, which was the board where the most BGDungeon regulars went to after the downfall. Read it over here, you might even recognize a few of the names. ;) |
oh i was at BGDungeon for a while. i was SSJ4Sephiroth as well, and i was a member of the mage's guild which formed right before it imploded, creating an internet black hole and sucking in all my hard work.
|
I am also a dungeaon refugee, was one fun board, anyone see that arguement near the end between these 2 guys who fought about which race was the uglier, elf or gith. 5 pages of wehter or not we should geneticaly splice the human race with plants, bloddy hell.
|
I was the same Fable at BGDungeon. Headed to GameBanshee, like many BGDungeon refugees: a very nice board, quieter, with a lot less of the endless rangling between fake "teams." From GB, I heard about Ironworks, and that pair have been my prime boards, since.

"Elves are stupid" is still a favourite catch phrase to tease Pyth with, and often used in debates at the Elysium (and earlier at the Rusty Sword) as an insider's joke to point out that an argument is completely silly... Those were the days, that debate was absolutely classic. ;) [ 02-14-2002: Message edited by: Grojlach ]
|

I occasionally lurked and posted at GameBanshee, but didn't really recognize many names... Only you and Garcia rang a bell, to be honest, the rest of the familiar BGDungeon names either vanished or took their refuge to Talons Place and The Elysium... And there was The Pope, of course, but he used to post at the Elysium in those days as well. Last time I saw him he had 5000+ posts at the Black Isle forums. :D |
I miss that board and all its raging madness. you should ask those guys to come here Grojlach

Tarencil, (Neo)Warlock, Messala, gothmog (Filkarri now), Aivanther, outlander78, BraveSirRobin, Shadowstrider, Ravenwind, Dar, The Conjurer, Boone, LeBurns, Mageman, GuildRunner, Rodan, Calis, Milamber, Slayerking, PrinceLegolas, The Saint... All sticking to a few smaller ones, mostly. Nagash, pinkypinky, Dinnin Lightbringer, ArchMage Alexander, Whisper, Daragor, VigaHrolf, Wicked Witch from the West, Pyth Dranook, SwordMage, Fiona, The Mage, NamVaDeRouge, Santiago, Yseult, Monte Carlo, they're all still around every once and awhile, only not that often anymore (I think I've named most of the 1500+ posters now. :D ) I suppose some of those names sound familiar? [ 02-14-2002: Message edited by: Grojlach ]
|
yes, i recognize a few of those names Groj... BSR and Pyth were great guys, too bad i hadnt gotten to know them better...

And Pyth is mostly reminded because of the "Elves are stupid" debate... :D |
You forgot Vaskez (notrix at BGD). Heaven forbid anyone forget Uncle Vask. :D
The BGDungeon experience taught me my most important lesson about forum moderation - trolls cannot be allowed to exist. |

Do you remember my Dwarven Throwers posts, the one that hijacked that thread into a long, apparently serious series on the history and comparative merits of throwing dwarves, gnomes, and halflings in battle? I began it again on GB. It's not doing much lately, but it has collected several hundred posts. |

Never really got a chance to read it. :( But I believe RudeDawg brought it over to Ironworks, and if you started one at GameBanshee as well, then one out of both is bound to be online still. Should check them out one of these days. ;) |
Thanks a lot Grojlach for that link to the Elysium, that thread brought back a lot of memories but I only recognised Fable, swordmage and Guildrunner, but it was a big board. Anyway all we can do with the past is look back at it,but the future is our's to mold and the furture is Ironworks, but I still miss those times...
