Anyone here likes them and who do you think looks better

Marion Or Marit

fable 02-06-2002 04:25 AM

At the risk of seeming abysmally ignorant, what is M2M?

Crimson 02-06-2002 04:34 AM

Yo fable where are you from M2M are a norwegian girl duo

Downunda 02-06-2002 04:39 AM

I'm with Fable! - Never heard of them. Are they related to M and M's? I like M and M's!

Bahamut 02-06-2002 06:22 AM

Geez guys I can't believe you guys!!! :D

I like Marion better than Marit, although it seems Marit is better than Marion, but anyway, I am loyal so Marion all the way ;)

Do you think that everybody from all over the world should know all about Norwegian girl duo's? Do *you* know the name of any Norwegian black metal band?

LMAO! You took the words right out of my mouth! (oh, and Emperor ;) )
Since when are we required to know about every ephemeral little band thought up?

MILAMBER 02-06-2002 01:18 PM

Are they that cheesy little disney duo that came out a year or two ago? If so, they blow.

You know what's even more terrifying?
The most sold single in sweden this week, is "Rosa helikopter" (Pink Helicopter) sung by a nine year old...
It's about the time she flew to her boyfriend (yes, she's nine years old ;) ) in a pink helicopter..
Oh, and that's the techno version I might add ;)

What does being an American have to do with this? It is merely a good example of poor music. They are the female equivalent to Hanson, just a couple of years late.

I can assure you that I would dislike this type of music regardless of where I live.

You DO realise that she really ISSINT playing the guitar right? :D :D

And I'm kinda disturbed by all these pre-pubescent children taking off their careers all of a sudden. I mean they seem to be getting younger every day.. At first it was Britney, then it was Mandy Moore and Jessica Simpson, and then its uh.. I dont know but I know there are tonnes of 12-13 year old kids supposedly making waves in their respective countries with their singing. Its scary..

I dont have very much respect for bubblegum music either. I only like the ones with the chicks :D :D

Everything even remotely related to heavy metal, except for that pesky now-metal stuff and Metallica's last two albums. My fav band of all time is Slayer.

You don't have to tell me that. :D You're preaching to the choir, as it is called. Not a church-choir in this case, obviously. ;)

Talthyr Malkaviel 02-09-2002 03:19 PM

Actually, England has a damn lot of 'em, but they're all in obscurity, and unfortunately never get popular, damn pop music!!!

You mean black metal bands? Forgot about Cradle of Filth, Hecate Enthroned and Akercocke? Those are three of the most popular black metal bands there are. And what about Venom, the ones that started it all?

EDIT: By the way, this is my 666th post... and about black metal as well. Coincidence, or what?

I've never heard of these two young ladies, but they sound like they belong in the 'bubblegum pop' genre. If that is the case, I've said enough on the matter ;)

'Fraid not, I never listen to the radio, online or otherwise. Maybe another Dutchie could give you some tips though.

SSJ4Sephiroth 02-10-2002 02:48 PM

i've never heard of these people, and im guessing i dont want to. I'll stick with Anti-flag, NOFX, Dead Kennedys, and Misfits, myself...

Why are you asking, Slackerboy?

J'aran - wow, I must be getting old. When I still listened to BM, I had never even heard of Akercocke (still hadn't until you named it) and Hecate Enthroned was just a C.O.F rip-off. Cradle was considered untrue by most people, though that's a distinction I've always found laughable. But yes, you're right, there are many black metal bands in England (good call about Venom, BTW) - I just thought of one more: Bal-Sagoth.

Talthyr Malkaviel 02-10-2002 07:41 PM

That's not exaxctly what I meant, yes England does have a damn load of great black metal bands like the ones you mentioned, but I mean there are lots you hear about maybe once, but people lose interest once the novelty wears off, so a lot of bands with potential get shot down early.

Melusine turned me on to some great music awhile ago. I don't know what you're into usually SB, but I really dig this stuff. Check out Nightwish, Within Temptation, and Therion. Let me know what you think.

Yea, you're right about that, but that's mainly because there just are so much black/death/goth/whatever metal bands around. Pretty much half of the fan population is in a band. Which is all well and good, it keeps the scene alive with the occasional jewel amongst the imitators, but you can't expect the casual fan to keep track of every single band, that's just impossible.

And Slackerboy, if you want to check out this kind of music, you won't find it on radio. Unless you're very lucky and find a station that plays it, which I have never been able to. I suggest running a search on the web for a couple of the bands mentioned and see if you can download some MP3's.

Oooh, that's so cool! Well, if there's anything I can do to help, let me know ok?
Do you want to listen to Dutch-language music specifically or just bands from Holland? I could try and help you with that?

Mil, glad you still like those bands!! Only W.T. is Dutch though, Therion is Swedish and Nightwish Finnish
But I'm happy I could help you find these great bands
