Why is it that I have this isane irrational fear of self flushing toilets, especially the ones that you have to sit down on. Well actually maybe its not so insane. I mean if you think about it they are pretty freaky. I mean your sitting on them doing your business and then all of sudden they flush and scare the heck out of you. Like some ghost just whisked by and flushed it on you. I don't know what you all think but that is some pretty freaky stuff if you ask me.

LOL! Never encountered a self-flusher before, but I don't think I'd be too keen on them either! I imagine it'd scare the crap out of me.

ROTFLMAO!!!! You can't imagine the mental picture I had of a ghost on a toilet! LOLOL!!!

*still chuckling* and, yes, I'd find it pretty freaky as well. Not to mention you'd probably get splashed on.

What really freaks me out are the toilets with the built-in "bedet"...rather than use T.P, you pull the "other little lever" and a stream of water comes rushing up at you. WHOOO freaky! I about leapt across the room when I was in a hotel once with one of those things and I thought I was flushing! They had to explain to me what it was at the front desk.

Saz - The thing about those bedets are that they are cold water only bedets, LOL, I can imagine if you didn't know it and thought you were just flushing, hello! AaAAAAHHHH! I feel defiled!

Personally I'm not all that much for bedets, only because I question the purity of any water spewing from a toilet, but that's just me.

I've seen bedets on TV...and oh they look scary!

Same thing with self flushing toilets...urgh...maybe they dont want you to spend to much time in there.

Redblueflare 02-06-2002 12:56 PM

I've come in contact with a self-flushing toilet once. I couldn't find the flusher anywhere, and when it flushed it scared the beejezus outta me!

MILAMBER 02-06-2002 01:02 PM

I'm surprised you all say they are relatively uncommon where you live. They are almose everywhere out here in California. I agree though, they do take some getting used to.

MagiK 02-06-2002 03:15 PM

I can see a whole new pop-psych industry brewing here..fear of auto-flushers anonymous!. They are pretty comon around town and personally any time I have to touch one less thing in a public restroom I am happy. Not to mention you dont have to put up with any other inconsiderate boobs leavings.....

God this is disgusting just thinkiing about it :(

I was thinking though. If you had it on your hands, would you wash with water or just wipe it off with some paper?

Sir Kenyth 02-07-2002 12:39 PM

My personal unreasonable fear is of cross-eyed nuns carrying bullwhips and drinking from gin bottles! Really, they frighten me terribly! :D

Rikard_OHF 02-07-2002 02:59 PM

Talkin about Irrational fears...
I have Icecubephobia...

GokuZool 02-08-2002 10:03 PM

What about the futuristic toilets!? There a few around where I live and they are even more scary. I'll explain. The cubicle surrounding the toilet is like a curved box with advertising on it. You press a button and the door kinda slides open. There is only one toilet and a sink. You do your bussiness then when you're finished, you wash your hands and walk out. Then you look at the small computer screen near where the open button is and it says "Cleaning". It cleans the whole area around the toilet, the toilet and the sink!
A funny thing is though if you take more than 20 minutes the door slides open automatically! You wouldn't like to have a serious case of diareha .
